    This is a continental breakfast

Needs totally renovated! Beds are hard, walls are repaired but not completed with paint so dry wall spackle is showing, bathroom shower doesn't have a light or water pressure, breakfast consisted of half a muffin and cold cereal not thing else, and why your sitting there in they're Lobby having your dry half of a muffin you can see the ceiling tiles are missing molded and falling down!

This room also had a VERY big nice TV - much larger TV than in the other rooms! This was our first time to Crescent City and of course we wondered if the fog horn would be a problem (especially given the "warning" on the hotel website). It wasn't an issue for us - but we didn't sleep with the door to the balcony open or anything. You can definitely hear it... but it's not super loud and/or overbearing... when I think "foghorn" I usually think about the super loud blaster that they use at 49er games or something, but this wasn't that at all - not even close! The TV was a little bit of a challenge to figure out, but we figured it out eventually. I can't say that I was crazy about the bathroom layout... with the sink part being in the main room, but the upside to that is there was a LOT of counter space, much more than would have been available otherwise. After a little reflection, I realized there really wasn't a better way to lay things out. I just had to get used to it... and now, I wouldn't hesitate to get the same room again.

Ryan at the front desk indicated that while he technically could modify our reservation, we'd have to go through Expedia since we booked with them - sure, not a problem. I talk to an Expedia agent who says yep, we should be able to modify the reservation. They call the Oceanview Inn, speak with Ryan, who says nope, no can do. When I went back to the lobby (still on the night of check-in) to ask Ryan what happened, he became confrontational. The staff here are unwilling to help their guests or make even minor modifications to reservations, even for services that have not and will not be rendered. Location: Convenient location close to the beach, highway, and Redwood National Park. Other than the national park there is very little to do in Crescent City. Not many good restaurant options. Room: Antiquated. Hasn't been updated in 25 years, uncomfortable bed. The upgraded room we reserved was quite large, however, the walls are thin and we could hear our neighbors all night. Also, the fog horn blows every 8 seconds. Walking to & from the room we noticed the hallways smell like strongly of urine.

The whole place was very dated. Not sure how they had an 8.1 rating on the hotel booking site…read more Bedspreads were faded and dingy, and they had brown blankets on the beds. Brown. Gross. Upholstered chairs in the room were worn and had holes. The toilets barely flushed, maybe because they were so old. The AC didn't work, and they do not have maintenance on site, so they gave us a loud box fan to put in the window for the night. They offered to move us for the second night, not the first because they were sold out. By the time the 2nd evening came, I was over it and opted to book a nicer hotel up the road. They then refused to give us even a partial refund. They left a young girl at the front desk who couldn't offer any help other than, "I'll have to call my boss." We requested that her boss call us, and that never happened either. Update & response to site management response: We clearly did need the AC, it is often muggy / humid on the coast. Leaving the window open all night with the noisy fan in it, left the room very humid and muggy in the morning. Not to mention noise from the Best Western next door, and the view of their garbage area. And having staff tell us that they can't make a decision, but have to call their boss is not supportive. Neither is not calling us when we requested a phone call to discuss further. "Not fancy" is one way to put it. Dated and dusty / dingy is another way. It's semantics.

Stayed here on a Tuesday night during the middle of a long road trip. Place was quiet and eerie. With your window open, you are only accompanied by the lapping of distant waves. That is genuinely it. I probably saw 3 guests the course of my 14 hour stay. Eerie right? The dated decor didn't help either. However, I attest that this lodge is worth the stop. All of the workers were nice, the mattresses were extremely comfy, and the views were beautiful. All components of a great stay. Truthfully maybe this place doesn't deserve five stars. But I am rooting for this establishment. I hope you all enjoy oceanfront lodge as much as I did.

It was austere, starvingly decorated, the ceiling was the same texture and color as the walls. Aggressive signage, passive aggressive laminated signage installed at the behest of a paranoid, and tasteless owner who clearly had more interest in aggressing the patrons of the hotel than anything else. Overpriced, undercared for, even the jacuzzi was an eyesore. Images attached. Avoid as much as you can help. Truly a hilariously, awful experience. The only upside to renting the most expensive room for a night, was how absolutely comedically awful the room itself was. We got a good laugh from it. The bathroom as well is the cherry on top of the shit sandwich, it too shares the same austere, low-budget pornographic character as the rest of the room. Like the kind of place you wake up after a night out in Juarez, in an ice bath to find a wound and stitches where your kidney once was.

Of course she had negative opinions about everything, and that's why she's an ex. Lol I personally liked the room myself, with no complaints. Here again, 2026, I didn't make a reservation. I walked in and asked a very charming woman if they had any rooms available, and lucky for me, they did. $93.50 for the night, in a very large room #250, with all the amenities you would need: Ice bucket, hot water and/or coffee/tea maker, microwave, mini fridge (empty for your own beverages, etc.), heater/AC, TV with remote, queen size bed, desk, cabinet with drawers, two night stands with night lights, blow dryer, 3 sink towels, 2 sink towels to remove makeup, two body towels, a wash cloth, floor towel, and the bed was so comfortable. If you like Latinx food, across the street is an authentic Mexican restaurant (Perlita's Mexican Restaurant). The Bayview Inn front desk manager said that was restaurant has good reviews. I bought 3 nice size tacos for $17. Anyway, the Bayview Inn has a very large parking lot. I give a rating of 5-stars because I found the place to be welcoming, and the room to be clean and comfortable. When in the city again, I'll definitely stay here.

Only thing I could complain about was that there were flies when we entered the room. We took care of them but noticed the windows have no screen to block out bugs. Is this common? Friendly concierge and complimentary coffee in the lobby area. Good location near all the food places and sights we wanted to see within walking distance. Didn't run into any shady characters though we did leave during daylight hours. For the price we paid, aside from the bugs, can't complain.
