Went here for our Valentines coastal trip. I live on the Klamath, up river and knew this was a special place. Even though there was some rain ( always expected done rain lol) we had so much fun exploring and showing my girlfriend all my special spots. Then had this cozy place to come back to to sleep. It's very romantic. The people who run it are so kind and helpful. Tge beds are so comfortable, we were plotting hw to get the bed out the window and tie it to my car lol. You also need to have at least one of your meals at the restaurant. Amazing food and wine. Requa is a special place in the heart of Yurok Territory. I love love love this place. It's got a B&B feel and the GM is probably my favorite person. There's a bear, the coffee is delicious, it has an incredibly charming natural fed spring and creek in the back. There are bears and the bed is SO comfy. The coffee is good. I wouldn't bring small kids though; there is no television, there are creaky hallways: I'm so so so charmed. I love it though, and we will be back when we are sans kids! read more

This is one of the best experiences I've had staying at a historic inn. The inside of the inn is beautifully decorated and the view of the river is gorgeous. The innkeeper is very kind and we loved chatting with her, she even made some cookies upon our arrival. Free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate is offered at all hours with lots of cozy seating in the main sitting room. They have a wonderful selection of games and a very nice chess set. There is a secluded hot tub in the backyard which is available at all hours but can also be reserved in the afternoon via a whiteboard in the hallway. Even though we were in a small room, our bed was extremely comfortable and we slept great! The room was very clean and had a lot of great closet space. It never felt too cramped and we enjoyed the coziness of it. If you want food options there are some small restaurants nearby or you can always drive up to Crescent City for more options. We decided to have breakfast at the inn and it was very pleasant, with more exceptional views of the river and mountains. I had their homemade granola, fruit and yogurt with a biscuit that was phenomenal. Please note that the inn does close at 8pm so if have any activities later in the evening you will need a code from the innkeeper to get back inside. This place is an absolute gem and certainly the most well-curated and special Inn experience I've ever had. Upon arriving, Elaine provided an excellent overview of the area's attractions and tips for seeing local wildlife; her expertise about the area was valuable and added to the charm of the Inn. The room was spotless, cozy, and the perfect amount of space. The building is incredibly well-preserved and its pristine condition makes you feel like you are stepping back in time. The common room with the fireplace, books, and complementary hot chocolate was a great surprise, as well as the whimsical backyard with friendly outdoor cats. The Requa Inn was hands down one of the best travel experiences. After coming out of the strangest year, we wanted to explore Northern California away from cities and suburban life. It was a last minute trip when my partner found this gem on Airbnb. I was skeptical because there were zero reviews and the pictures looked too good to be true. But let me tell you, the Requa Inn met and soared beyond expectations. I don't like to overhype anything but our experience was too amazing not to share. When we arrived, we couldn't believe our luck. The pictures don't do the place justice honestly. The room was very clean and quaint with modern additions. Plenty for bathroom space. If you can book a room overlooking the Klamath River, do it! The Inn is just down the road from the main highway. We stayed for 3 nights and meeting people it seemed most just stay for a night or 2. As for the staff, they were all terrific. We received several messages on the Airbnb app checking on our stay. The couple who were hosting us were very friendly and helpful. They even had homemade chocolate cookies and a bottle of port for guests in the evening. I appreciate those little things. Onto the breakfast service and staff. Hands down amazing! We'd heard there was a private chef and so on the first morning decided to try the breakfast. The menu included items you'd find at a diner but little did we know we were in for a treat. We tried just about the whole menu: pancakes, maple bacon, scrambled eggs, and country potatoes. We ate breakfast all 3 mornings and every time a new flavor pancake was served. My partner exclaimed the scrambled eggs were the best he ever had. I think chef said she mixed in heavy cream and butter to make them fluffy. Unfortunately, we did not get to stay at this historic hotel, but even more troubling - we were treated like 2nd class citizens by the owner and her (we believe) husband or co-owner. We booked a room here weeks before our arrival, along with several other hotels for our two week road trip. We have a small mini-golden doodle, so we set our search filter for only pet friendly places - and the Requa Inn come up as one of them. We drove for eight hours and finally arrived in the afternoon. We waited with our dog in the lobby for about 30 minutes because no one was there! Finally, the owners walked in and when they saw our dog sitting with us, they coldly asked, "What's your dog doing here?" When we explained that it's a dog friendly place, they replied, "No it's not! We don't allow dogs or children here." When I explained that Expedia had recommended only dog friendly places when planning our trip (we booked seven hotels in different parts of California and Oregon), the owner replied, :"Well Expedia lies all the time! You can't stay here." I explained that we had nowhere to go, and that I'd already paid for 1/2 of our stay. All she could say was "Well I'm not gonna be out of pocket!" Not once did this women or her husband offer to help us find another hotel in the area - the husband in fact never uttered a single word to us, only stared at us as if we were from another planet. At the end of the day, we were not allowed to stay, and The Requa Inn charged us for the entire stay within minutes of us driving off. How's that for friendly service??? read more

It is well-kept and offers great food, an amazing view of the Klamath river, and a relaxing atmosphere. We just had an amazing stay at the Requa Inn. They gave us the Post Office Suite which provide a comfortable stay. For meals, the Requa Inn Kitchen is open seasonally, March-October. Cute and quaint little bed and breakfast. Great views of the Klamath river , as well as private beach access- which is spectacular. Location is great as it is very close to the redwood forest. Everyone I came in contact with at the hotel was polite and pleasant. Breakfast was homemade and delicious. Just a little warning to others though - there is no tv. However, dont let that deter your stay, there is so much to do in this area you won't even need one, and the wifi works really well. (No cell Phone service either) but it is what it is! I really wanted to like this place more-I'm a big fan of historic buildings, and you can tell that the Requa Inn has an extensive past as soon as you walk into the lobby. I ended up arriving after usual check-in hours, and I appreciated how friendly the staff was in terms of my pre-arrival communication. The staff person left a note detailing how I could get to my room, and though I was anxious I would run into trouble given my late arrival, checking into my room was a breeze. Unfortunately, my room could have definitely used more upkeep. There was a massive stain on one of the pillows that was visible through the pillowcase. I ended up putting that pillow in the closet, but then I noticed that the bed mattress was too soft/floppy for my comfort. I will admit there was a historic charm to the room, and the proximity to the water views was impressive. However, this inn could benefit from some renovation touches to upgrade the room quality for their guests. read more

This was the perfect location to stay and explore all of the nearby natural beauty. We reserved a river-side room but I think I would prefer the other side of the inn next time just due to the river boats getting an early start each day. On the other hand, it kept me from sleeping the days away in the ultra-comfy bed... The staff were amazing and far exceeded my expectations, especially Wendi and Kenny. Wendi was very knowledgeable about everything to see and do in the area and had such a friendly way about her. Kenny was much the same and kept us incredibly well-fed during our stay. Kenny and his partner run a farm in Requa and as of May 2022, this restaurant as well. So, you will not find anything fresher or tastier. My boyfriend and I stayed at the inn for 4 nights and had breakfast in the restaurant each morning. The freshness of the produce and genuine care taken by Kenny and his kitchen team made for a great start to each day. We also reserved a place for dinner Sunday. 24-hour advance reservations for dinner are required. You may find that inconvenient but I think it's a smart and sustainable business model especially because it is a substantial multicourse meal. No waste this way! And that dinner was the best meal I've ever had! I've eaten a lot of food in my time but that was something special. Not only was everything beyond delicious but it was also technical and showcased the chef's skill. The value of it though... I felt like I was ripping them off! Could not recommend this experience more and lucky for you locals, they're extending their operating hours to include more days when dinner will be served! Had a wonderful 5-Star dinner in their restaurant served family style. Also overlooking the klamath. The window were open just enough to smell the ocean breeze and the fragrance of the beautiful flowers outside. Great wine selection and the service is impeccable! Kenny will take good care of you and the chef's Dave and JJ are amazing! They really know how to cook and give you an amazing food experience! Worth taking the time to stop in for a night or more! If you want a hotel with TV, fast internet, and modern conveniences, this is not the place for you so know that before you book. HOWEVER, if you want quiet, peace, claw-footed bathtubs, old-fashioned furniture, beautiful artwork and tranquility away from everything, THIS IS THE PLACE for you. We had a small room with a full-sized bed. Everything was clean. I loved the ceiling fan and the fact that we could open the windows. We were there on a rainy night, and a small stream ran outside our window. Falling asleep to a cool breeze and nature sounds was so peaceful. Breakfast was great ... homestyle and casual. We paid $18 for breakfast for two consisting of hotcakes, cinnamon roll, bacon, and home fries. Everything was delicious. Coffee was great. Our server was personable. Real room keys here! The checkout was seamless and the host was friendly and knowledgeable. There is a hot tub for use by private reservation, but we did not take advantage of this amenity. Rooms that were not occupied were left open for other guests to peek inside. The king rooms with claw-footed tubs and full river views were luxurious and amazing! Sip your wine soaking in your tub while overlooking the river at sunset. Friendly, clean, beautiful, peaceful, simple. I'll be back! read more

This review is tough because I recognize that objectively, this place is lovely. It's in a historic building and it accurately represents what it is (I fully admit that I didn't make the reservation and I was perhaps unprepared for the entire experience). It's an old building and the rooms are SMALL - too small for me. It's reminiscent of cruise ship rooms although I think cruise ship cabins are larger. Our room had a double bed that shook with the slightest exhale. Husband and I prefer to sleep in separate beds to avoid marital slumber discord and we quickly realized that sleeping in that bed together was not an option. Husband volunteered to sleep in the closet (which was the largest unobstructed place in the room and he would be best protected from being stepped on during sleepy middle-of-the-night bathroom visits). We had to carefully store luggage and bags as to preserve talking space. The walls are paper thin which is probably considered "charm" but it didn't appeal to me. Privacy was nil (and to be fair, they do recommended not to share any deep dark secrets with your companion while staying there because the walls are so thin). Husband reserved dinner there because it's pretty much the only option in the area. Dinner was "family style" so we were seated with two other couples. Normally, I hate such things but we lucked out and had some lovely dinner conversation with these folks. I didn't realize the menu was set and that I would not be able to choose my own food. The main course was pork and I do not eat pork. The rest of the food was quite delicious but I was disappointed that other options weren't available. Additionally, husband is allergic to dairy and there were (seemingly) no accommodations made for personal preferences or allergies. I was displeased about having paid $40 for a dinner where I didn't eat the main course. Breakfast was a bit better but I didn't care for the scrambled eggs. They were super bland and seemed to have had cream or milk added so I advised Husband to avoid them. The bacon was soggy (which is not my preference) but the vanilla nutmeg pancakes were good. I absolutely understand the appeal of this place and I was tempted to give it higher stars because I do understand that much of my issues are entirely personal preference. read more

Authentic Historic Inn, a walk away from a wild and pristine coastal beach and a 5 minute drive to a dramatic State Park overlook of the mouth of the Klamath and rugged pacific ocean headlands and haystack rocks. The Inn is off of HWY 101 on a quiet dead end road. Rooms are lovely, decorated with antique furnishings, and the lobby - guest area comfortable with fireplace, library, and room for conversation or game tables. I absolutely loved this little inn! First off, the staff was incredibly accommodating. We drove six hours to get here after arriving at the Sacramento airport. Since our luggage did not make it on our flight, the airport was nice enough to drive it up for us once it arrived later that evening. Because reception out there was so sparse, our hostess just gave us the inn phone for the evening to wait until our luggage arrived. They were honestly really sweet. The inn is in the redwoods and offers a beautiful view of Klamath river. It's also within a five minute drive from the shore-- breathtaking! Our room was cozy, and I slept like a baby on that soft king sized bed. I found the little details, like the organic shower essentials, such nice touches. Oh, and they have extra towels available for anyone who wants to use the hot tub in the back patio. Last pro, the cooks here are amazing! We ate really well that weekend :) Minor things the mister wanted to contribute to this review: 1) Our room did not have a T.V. 2) The bathroom was a little compact 3) It was quiet-- I laughed at this one because he's so accustomed to city life that this was a bit eerie for him Overall, we had a pretty awesome getaway in Klamath! :D read more

Attention locals (and those staying nearby): you can eat dinner here without being a guest! Prices are reasonable--you'd pay at least double for this quality food in a big city. It is far and away the best meal I've had in Humboldt, Del Norte, and Curry Counties. One of the innkeepers told me that they have some seats available for additional dinner guests, so we gave it a try. We called to make a reservation and to find out what was on the menu that night (two starter options, two meat entrees, one veggie entree, and two dessert options). The dining room faces the Klamath River where it meets the ocean. The view is fantastic, and dinner at 6:30 (one seating only) means a nice sunset view of the river and trees changing color. I ordered bruscetta with smoked Klamath salmon (I have fallen in LOVE with the smoked salmon here, despite detesting smoked salmon all my life). It was excellent. Bf had a rich potato leek soup. It was super-creamy and was a just-right portion instead of a deep bowl before dinner. My dinner of pappardelle with a pork ragu was very good. It was exactly what the name indicates: thick pasta noodles with a hearty sauce made with slow-cooked pork. The bf's smoked chicken, served with a chimichurri sauce and local greens salad, was unusual and excellent. We had banana cream pie for dessert, and it was lovely. The hosts are friendly and chatty if you want them to be. The chef came out to talk to us about our food. It's like eating in someone's home, because you are. The family that owns and runs the place also lives there, and they really do their best to make you feel like a special houseguest. If you're in the area, I recommend a stay here. But even if you don't stay overnight, you should definitely have dinner here...often. read more

The Historic Requa Inn was a fabulous venue for our wedding! We couldn't have dreamed of anything more beautiful. The Inn was so accommodating and worked with us for months to create a memorable day we'll always cherish. They were flexible with bookings, connected us with our day of coordinator, and catered our event (in partnership with the lead chef from Vita Cucina). We hosted around 80 guests with a lot of international and out of town travelers. People from out of the country found it easy to make bookings and communicate with staff. We rented the entire Inn for two nights for guests, the Requa House for family, and the Cottage for ourselves (the bride and groom). The event venue: the space was incredible! Right on the Klamath River, we couldn't have asked for a more scenic view. During the ceremony there were seals dancing in the water, birds circling around, and fishermen passing by in boats. The permanent arbor created ambiance and clearly defined it as a ceremony space. The top area directly across the from the Inn was transformed into a welcoming space, the bottom flat was used for the ceremony, firepit, and bar, and the area by the river was used for dining. The stairs coming down the hill created a natural isle. It was nice to have the Inn right across the street, so as it got dark and began to chill down, people naturally went inside for tea and music. The rooms: the flexibility of having guests stay in rooms, the Requa House, and the Cottage made hosting so many people easy! Jan was great about helping me figure out how to accommodate everyone. The "Post Office" was a special space that made the grooms parents (traveling from Barcelona) feel relaxed and special. Everyone was thrilled with their cute rooms and enjoyed catching up with old friends in the hot tub. The cozy atmosphere allowed people to connect from both sides of the isle and created a sense of intimacy that enabled strangers to bond. Just a side note: it's also a benefit when hosting a large party that people can stay in the Golden River Lodge down the hill (not affiliated with the Requa), which adds space for 8-12 more people. The food: everyone (...and I mean everyone) commented on how outrageously delicious the food was. Many raved it was the best wedding food they've ever had. My friend texted me, two weeks after the event commenting about the homemade focaccia bread. Some of the pre-dinner snacks included traditional Yurok fry bread, pickled accoutrement, and local cheeses. The main dishes arrived hot, on-time, and family style. Everything was local, fresh, and handmade. After dinner we moved the party inside and they provided hot drinks and late night cookies/cake bites as we relaxed by the fire, which really just sealed the deal. The morning after the Inn hosted a brunch for all wedding guests. It was beyond delicious and left everyone with a cozy feeling as they checked-out. Having a formal brunch was the perfect way to say goodbye to guests and connect with people as they left town. The area: although this place is remote, that's the point! Having our wedding in Klamath allowed travelers to explore the river, redwoods, and beach without distraction. Klamath has several beautiful scenic hikes to entertain guests before the wedding and the Klamath Overlook was perfect for pre-wedding family pictures. All-in-all, we had a spectacular time at this charming Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about using it as a wedding venue. read more

Me & my buddies were camping & hiking within the area and happened to stumble upon this place with the help of Yelp lol. We were looking for a good breakfast place & with the high reviews had to make the stop. When we got there we were greeted with smiles and love. The atmosphere was beautiful and family like. We sat next to the windows with the view of the Klamath River. The Breakfast menu was simple & easy. I ordered the scramble eggs with potatoes & bacon and when we got the food. Omfg! Absolutely delicious!!! The flavoring and freshness of the dish was heavenly. Unfortunately we missed out on the Cinnamon Buns that was said to be the best in town! This place was so amazing for so many reasons. Our stay was my first time at a B&B and I can't imagine how it could've been improved upon. The view from my room of the Klamath River was breathtaking and we walked the short mile to it's head were it crashes into the pacific. The surrounding area of Coastal Redwoods is indescribable and after a long day of hiking it was nice to sit in the hot tub, stare at the stars and if you listened closely hear the surf. The staff is also exceptionally attentive and breakfast was out of this world, they've got it down! The daily green smoothie is highly recommended. I simply can't say enough good thinks about the Requa Inn and Klamath in general, it's a beautiful place that's well worth the effort of getting to. This is strictly dining! Sadly, there was no room at the Historic Requa Inn....they were fully booked on a Tuesday! Good sign. However, we enjoyed a lovely "happy hour" in the living room and on the front porch overlooking the Klamath River. Really! How did we get so lucky. We shared a fabulous meal with two other couples staying at the Historic Requa Inn. The communal dining was wonderful. Hearing what out-of-state guests had to say including, "We would come back to California just to come here! Breakfasts are amazing!" (Breakfast is reserved for Historic Requa Inn guests only.) As are the dinners, locavore cooking is creatively prepared and presented and available to all -- reservations are highly recommended. Staff is so friendly! The owner/innkeeper, Jan, provided a bit of a tour and history of the inn, region, and the Yurok tribe that calls this place home. The inn is on the Yurok Indian Reservation overlooking the mouth of the Klamath River and the Pacific Ocean. Arrive early for happy hour and enjoy the view from the front porch or the parlor. Nearby, Klamath Beach Road takes you to the sand spit and the mouth of the Klamath River. Great way to work off your dinner the next day. Plenty of other places to hike among the redwood giants. Communal dining - shared tables -- is with your new BFFs for the prix fix dinners April 1 - October 31, seven days a week. The prix fix dinners are available off -season November - March but the dining room is dark on Sundays. Regional cuisine embraces farm-to-table -- showcasing the abundance of the Klamath River area. If you're searching for a place to stay in the redwoods, Klamath isn't a bad choice. The Requa Inn has been open since the early 1900s and has definately kept the historic feel. The Redwood Creek room goes for 99/night with a hearty breakfast for two. The room is small, but you hardly spend any time there anyways. There is a double size bed with a down comforter and down pillows. It definately keeps you warm at night. The have an old fashion tub and the water temperature adjusts perfectly to your comfort level. The building is made of redwood trees with redwood dust for insulation so you can hear just about everything. However, it is a B&B so it doesn't get that noisy anyways. They recently added a jacuzzi/spa which is definately worth your time. It's in the backyard and is open till midnight. You can reserve time slots in the evening for a romantic feel. In the morning you wake up to a smell of coffee and bacon. You can build your own breakfast. I ordered the pecan toffee hotcakes (2 fluffy med-lg sized), English plain yogurt, and a fresh fruit cup. I couldn't even finish half of my hotcakes. The food was a party in my mouth. You have other choices to include eggs, toast, hot or cold cereal as well. You eat facing the river so you might even spot a black bear roaming around. Dave, the innkeeper is very nice and offers plenty of knowledge about the entire area. The town shuts down early so make sure you eat early or have a home cooked dinner at the inn. Klamath is a great pitstop for your redwood travels. This charming little place would have gotten five stars, but the restaurant is closed and there are very few places to eat nearby (so plan ahead). The view from the porch was awesome, the bed was comfy, and the water pressure was good. I like the decor too - eclectic vintage? Best part - no tv! read more

Discovery of the Historic Requa Inn came about from a work assignment. The Post Office was a fabulous suite. Unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy the dinner. However, I can comment on the fabulous breakfast on my last day. Lemon poppy-seed flapjacks, the fluffiest scrambled eggs, European yogurt with fresh fruit, fresh coffee and orange. Yum! Snapples was a friendly dog who met me every morning. My only regret is I didn't book an additional day. I would have enjoyed staying longer. I will definitely return. read more

We just finished a two night stay at the ReQua Inn and loved it! The Inn is old but reminds me of staying at my grandmother's- comfortable, quiet, and lots of rest. It is out of the way off of 101 and has a view of the river. We chose to eat breakfast and dinner at the Inn, and we loved the food. Breakfast was all homemade, including the toast. I loved the scrambled eggs. Dinner is reservation only, family style, and served only Wednesday thru Sunday. It is chef's choice, but you won't be disappointed. read more

My family and I stayed at the Requa Inn house last week. We arrived past the check in time and were unable to locate the home. I called the Requa Inn to ask for directions and the female owner said she would come outside and show us. She came outside and got in her car and was clearly a little irritated with me; however, I couldn't find directions to the house anywhere (it is off site). When we arrived to the house, and we waved at her she was somewhat more polite. Be advised, in the cabin their is a guest sign in book. Someone wrote a scary story about a woman in a white dress coming to see them in their sleep and stealing their friends eyeballs and so on.. This ruined the trip for a few people in my party because they were afraid. I realize this story was probably not true; however, it was a game changer for a couple people I was with which made our stay unenjoyable. I honestly thought about ripping the pages out so no others would read it. Other than that, the view is beautiful. The home is nothing special (make sure you read where there are no TVs). Old and run down. Spiders hanging from every corner of the ceiling in our bedroom. We stayed in the "post office" and it is located directly below the dining and kitchen areas so we heard everything that was going on above us - VERY NOISY. We tried the dinner. No choice on the dinner offerings and the main dish, pork, was dry and tasteless. Side dishes were OK but the meal was overpriced for what was served. Breakfasts were OK but nothing special. Traffic noise was bothersome. The view of the Klamath River is nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. However, for what this place offers it is way overpriced. read more
