This place is an absolute gem and certainly the most well-curated and special Inn experience I've ever had. Upon arriving, Elaine provided an excellent overview of the area's attractions and tips for seeing local wildlife; her expertise about the area was valuable and added to the charm of the Inn. The room was spotless, cozy, and the perfect amount of space. The building is incredibly well-preserved and its pristine condition makes you feel like you are stepping back in time. The common room with the fireplace, books, and complementary hot chocolate was a great surprise, as well as the whimsical backyard with friendly outdoor cats. I came here while on a backpacking/hiking trip up the West Coast and had an amazing experience.

The Requa Inn was hands down one of the best travel experiences. After coming out of the strangest year, we wanted to explore Northern California away from cities and suburban life. It was a last minute trip when my partner found this gem on Airbnb. I was skeptical because there were zero reviews and the pictures looked too good to be true. But let me tell you, the Requa Inn met and soared beyond expectations. I don't like to overhype anything but our experience was too amazing not to share. When we arrived, we couldn't believe our luck. The pictures don't do the place justice honestly. The room was very clean and quaint with modern additions. Plenty for bathroom space. If you can book a room overlooking the Klamath River, do it! The Inn is just down the road from the main highway. We stayed for 3 nights and meeting people it seemed most just stay for a night or 2. As for the staff, they were all terrific. We received several messages on the Airbnb app checking on our stay. The couple who were hosting us were very friendly and helpful. They even had homemade chocolate cookies and a bottle of port for guests in the evening. I appreciate those little things. Onto the breakfast service and staff. Hands down amazing! We'd heard there was a private chef and so on the first morning decided to try the breakfast. The menu included items you'd find at a diner but little did we know we were in for a treat. We tried just about the whole menu: pancakes, maple bacon, scrambled eggs, and country potatoes. We ate breakfast all 3 mornings and every time a new flavor pancake was served. My partner exclaimed the scrambled eggs were the best he ever had. I think chef said she mixed in heavy cream and butter to make them fluffy. Overall, wonderful stay, great staff and exactly what we needed.

    Same-day picked eggs and bacon.

A great place to for both food and to stay the night! The Requa Inn is a very quaint and older-style inn. It is well-kept and offers great food, an amazing view of the Klamath river, and a relaxing atmosphere. If you are ever going through this area (e.g. to see the redwood forest) I highly recommend staying here for a couple nights.

Cute and quaint little bed and breakfast. Great views of the Klamath river , as well as private beach access- which is spectacular. Location is great as it is very close to the redwood forest. Everyone I came in contact with at the hotel was polite and pleasant. Breakfast was homemade and delicious. Just a little warning to others though - there is no tv. However, dont let that deter your stay, there is so much to do in this area you won't even need one, and the wifi works really well. (No cell Phone service either) but it is what it is! I would stay here again

We had made…read morereservations a few months prior for our wedding, however we live in another state so we hadn't had a chance to see the venue other than the pictures on the website. We arrived at the venue the day before the wedding. We also had arrangements for two nights in the honeymoon suite. When we showed up, we were shown the main house that we were going to get married in. It apparently is being lived in by Patrick and his wife. Not a professional setting. But the view out back was amazing. Patrick then showed us to our " honeymoon suite". Except for it's classified more as a junior suite. No tv , room too small, and mystery door in the room as well, not to be used. That was creepy, Also in the bedroom, the queen size bed took up the whole room. There was only a little pathway to get to the bathroom, and to get to the other side of the bed. When we left that day, we decided that we had to cancel their so-called honeymoon suite because it was just too small for us. when I let Patrick know that evening that we wouldn't be staying the two nights because the suite was too small. He stated that he might have shown me the wrong room. And by that time my husband and I had already made reservations for a true honeymoon suite. The day finally arrives, we get to the venue three hours early we start to get ready. Everything seems to be OK. Now, at this point, I realize I haven't mentioned that our wedding is just my husband and myself and my maid of honor. So we did get a great price for all that. We really looked forward to having a intimate peaceful wedding. While I was getting ready with my maid of honor people that weren't invited to our wedding were coming up and talking to my fiancé at the time and he's nervous and he doesn't want to talk but these people are friends of Patrick's. It made my husband very uncomfortable. In the meantime, our photographer shows up and things seem to be smoothing out. My photographer was wonderful and we really enjoyed her. However, as I walked down the stairs to walk through the house and out, Patrick stops my photographer and tells her that she must move her vehicle. This was highly unprofessional, and did not need to be dealt with at that moment. Literally minutes before I was to walk down the aisle. So the car gets moved the photographer gets in position. I make my way past the kitchen and out the door. But as I'm walking, something doesn't look right to me, it was the position of Patrick and my fiancé. Patrick was standing in the wrong place. He stood to Todd's left. You can see when you look at the pictures what I'm talking about. Then we get to the part where Patrick officiates this wedding. I thought this was something he had done before. It clearly was not. he did not read from the book. He did not have it memorized. He had everything out of order. He had asked if anyone had any reason why we should not get married halfway into the ceremony. I had to tell him twice that we hadn't exchanged the rings. I wish I could share the video, but that's a little more personal that I'd like to do at this point. I think I can get my point across with my words in my pictures. They also said they would provide a cake which I found out two days prior because I asked, that, they decided they weren't going to do a cake for us. Thank heavens for Fred Meyers! They saved the day. Patrick also had another couple in the duplex " honeymoon suite" behind the main house. They seem to be more of a priority to Patrick than we were.

They have vacation rentals in Humboldt County in Trinidad, Arcata, and McKinleyville. We have only stayed in ones in Trinidad. Trinidad holds a special place in my heart and I absolutely love this quaint beach town! They have several properties in Trinidad that overlook the ocean and the views are absolutely stunning so you can pick the ones that works the best for you. Some of the properties also have a hot tub if that is something that you are looking for. They have dog friendly vacation rentals as well, which is important to us because we love going on mini vacations with our dog. Trinidad is such a beautiful area for a getaway and to have mindful moments to take in the natural beauty that surrounds you! We absolutely loved watching the sunsets and enjoying wine in the evenings! Trinidad is truly a magical place! The only negatives are that more and more people are discovering Trinidad so the prices in the area of bed and breakfasts and vacation rentals have gone up. Also, I don't love the fees that are associated with vacation rentals and the rules. Overall though, Trinidad is a beautiful place to stay and if you are looking for your own private oasis, Trinidad Retreats has some amazing properties to stay at!

She put together packets of info for us, with cute little bottles of agates for the kids, plus Gold Beach bags and water bottles, which the kids really appreciated. We checked in with the staff almost every day of our trip, and they were so personable and helpful! HOWEVER, we are NEVER coming back to Gold Beach! It is crawling with homeless men, which is really scary bc the area is full of empty roads, dense forests (Twin Peaks meets Jurassic Park), lonely trails, and vast, windy beaches with huge surf, few people and no lifeguards. So, we worried constantly about running into these unhoused strangers everywhere we went, and bowed out of taking walks along the river and beaches when we saw shanties set up along the paths. Locals recommended we get a dog, bear spray, and a gun (there's a big gun shop in town), and we'd be fine (!). My husband was accosted by homeless men asking for money at an ATM, and had to go back when the bank was open to avoid them. He was also accosted at a gas station by a homeless guy who ran at our car while my husband was pumping gas. He had to stop pumping gas before our tank was full to get away from the guy. The area is beautiful and I'm glad we finally saw the Oregon coast, but too iffy in terms of maintaining personal safety with so many homeless men everywhere.
