    RV invasion!
    Steven B.

We found these grounds on hipcamp, and are overall glad we stayed. Highlights are the swimming hole, the outdoors showers, the pleasant weather, and the kind-hearted attitude of the place. They do seem to have some "growing pains" as they are only a few years into it and don't have their operations down yet. For example, only one bank of toilets for the 100 acres to share. Sooo, people camp in proximity to them. A huge problem is the pack it in, pack it out rule! Seriously!? My family is paying $120/night to camp and I have to turn my car into a dumpster!? Ewwwww!!!! Getting water to drink is hard too, only one official spigot. If they are going to continue renting the place out as a campsite, they need INFRASTRUCTURE. Water, toilets, garbage. BTW, they tell you not to pee in compost toilet, instead, to pee on a tree. I imagine camping will start to stink by September. Not sure. The last two mornings, I was awoken by sirens on 199, and then kept awake by aircraft from the nearby airport. Noises that city slickers are numb to, but if you are really trying to chill, this ranch in a town, on a highway isn't remote enough. Advise for people at this point, because of lack of services is a 2-3 night stay. Maybe 1 if you have limited abilities to hold garbage and stuff.

I love Cedar Bloom farm!! A pure sanctuary - the river is so healing, the communal kitchen is so big, and the bathhouse overlooking the river - so beautiful Not to mention the sauna, teahouse, ample areas to camp, and the A-Frames which are so well maintained. The absolute best place to get away and nourish yourself

Coastal Cliff Intimate Wedding Venue - Beautiful evening overlooking the ocean

We had made…read morereservations a few months prior for our wedding, however we live in another state so we hadn't had a chance to see the venue other than the pictures on the website. We arrived at the venue the day before the wedding. We also had arrangements for two nights in the honeymoon suite. When we showed up, we were shown the main house that we were going to get married in. It apparently is being lived in by Patrick and his wife. Not a professional setting. But the view out back was amazing. Patrick then showed us to our " honeymoon suite". Except for it's classified more as a junior suite. No tv , room too small, and mystery door in the room as well, not to be used. That was creepy, Also in the bedroom, the queen size bed took up the whole room. There was only a little pathway to get to the bathroom, and to get to the other side of the bed. When we left that day, we decided that we had to cancel their so-called honeymoon suite because it was just too small for us. when I let Patrick know that evening that we wouldn't be staying the two nights because the suite was too small. He stated that he might have shown me the wrong room. And by that time my husband and I had already made reservations for a true honeymoon suite. The day finally arrives, we get to the venue three hours early we start to get ready. Everything seems to be OK. Now, at this point, I realize I haven't mentioned that our wedding is just my husband and myself and my maid of honor. So we did get a great price for all that. We really looked forward to having a intimate peaceful wedding. While I was getting ready with my maid of honor people that weren't invited to our wedding were coming up and talking to my fiancé at the time and he's nervous and he doesn't want to talk but these people are friends of Patrick's. It made my husband very uncomfortable. In the meantime, our photographer shows up and things seem to be smoothing out. My photographer was wonderful and we really enjoyed her. However, as I walked down the stairs to walk through the house and out, Patrick stops my photographer and tells her that she must move her vehicle. This was highly unprofessional, and did not need to be dealt with at that moment. Literally minutes before I was to walk down the aisle. So the car gets moved the photographer gets in position. I make my way past the kitchen and out the door. But as I'm walking, something doesn't look right to me, it was the position of Patrick and my fiancé. Patrick was standing in the wrong place. He stood to Todd's left. You can see when you look at the pictures what I'm talking about. Then we get to the part where Patrick officiates this wedding. I thought this was something he had done before. It clearly was not. he did not read from the book. He did not have it memorized. He had everything out of order. He had asked if anyone had any reason why we should not get married halfway into the ceremony. I had to tell him twice that we hadn't exchanged the rings. I wish I could share the video, but that's a little more personal that I'd like to do at this point. I think I can get my point across with my words in my pictures. They also said they would provide a cake which I found out two days prior because I asked, that, they decided they weren't going to do a cake for us. Thank heavens for Fred Meyers! They saved the day. Patrick also had another couple in the duplex " honeymoon suite" behind the main house. They seem to be more of a priority to Patrick than we were.

Their roughly two acre garden is full of beautiful flowers and trees (see the pictures!) and the perfect escape from city life. It's paradise and I highly recommend anyone to stay there who is looking for a beautiful getaway near Ashland and its surrounding areas. The owner's, Annette and Brian, are wonderful hosts and pour their heart and soul into the place. They are extremely friendly and their hospitable touches are everywhere. The spacious studio, which is actually more like a one bedroom, is nicely arranged with books, local information, and decorations. They provide all the morning necessities like coffee, tea, and breakfast food. You'll feel right at home! On the property, there is also a very quaint wine tasting room that is leased by the winery adjacent to their property called Pebblestone Winery. The wine is very good, but it's the setting and hospitality that will make your trip memorable. Apparently, they can host weddings, a wondeful place for a special event. Wisteria is perfectly located to reach the surrounding area. It's an easy 10 minute drive to downtown Ashland. The drive to historic Jacksonville is about 15 minutes drive through some amazing, rolling vineyards. My only regret about writing this review is letting my secret out. I'm sure next time I go I will need to book months in advance.

She put together packets of info for us, with cute little bottles of agates for the kids, plus Gold Beach bags and water bottles, which the kids really appreciated. We checked in with the staff almost every day of our trip, and they were so personable and helpful! HOWEVER, we are NEVER coming back to Gold Beach! It is crawling with homeless men, which is really scary bc the area is full of empty roads, dense forests (Twin Peaks meets Jurassic Park), lonely trails, and vast, windy beaches with huge surf, few people and no lifeguards. So, we worried constantly about running into these unhoused strangers everywhere we went, and bowed out of taking walks along the river and beaches when we saw shanties set up along the paths. Locals recommended we get a dog, bear spray, and a gun (there's a big gun shop in town), and we'd be fine (!). My husband was accosted by homeless men asking for money at an ATM, and had to go back when the bank was open to avoid them. He was also accosted at a gas station by a homeless guy who ran at our car while my husband was pumping gas. He had to stop pumping gas before our tank was full to get away from the guy. The area is beautiful and I'm glad we finally saw the Oregon coast, but too iffy in terms of maintaining personal safety with so many homeless men everywhere.

It's odd, though, that the building is tucked away from 101, behind some very big bushes, at a local beach access point.
