They also have a nice selection of postcards/stickers/magnets for resale. The man that checked us in very accommodating and friendly- great customer service. There is a robust vending area with snacks/drinks, laundry facilities and an ice machine. There is a big parking lot out front. The hotel is a bit date but it's clean. The location is not far from the waterfront and lighthouse. Breakfast was available, waffles, eggs, sausage, coffee, toast, fruit, cereal, yogurt. This hotel is in a great location. Recommend a stay!

You can definitely hear it... but it's not super loud and/or overbearing... when I think "foghorn" I usually think about the super loud blaster that they use at 49er games or something, but this wasn't that at all - not even close! The TV was a little bit of a challenge to figure out, but we figured it out eventually. I can't say that I was crazy about the bathroom layout... with the sink part being in the main room, but the upside to that is there was a LOT of counter space, much more than would have been available otherwise. After a little reflection, I realized there really wasn't a better way to lay things out. I just had to get used to it... and now, I wouldn't hesitate to get the same room again.

Our room was clean when we arrived, and the breakfast area was spacious with a great view, which made the morning experience enjoyable. However, there were several downsides. The biggest issue was a leaking faucet in the room, which suggests that maintenance could be improved. The room itself was also quite small--just enough space to move around comfortably, with very limited extra room for luggage or other belongings. Overall, the hotel was adequate for a short stay, mainly because of the cleanliness and pleasant breakfast area, but the maintenance issues and cramped room size kept the experience from being more enjoyable.

No communication was made to us prior to arriving at the hotel about our room not being ready. No concessions were made at that time because our booking was done through "www.hotels.com". During our stay our room developed a significant water leak from a ceiling light/fan fixture. This happened very late at night; I called down to the front desk and after waiting for several minutes I received a call back. By this time the water leak from the ceiling had mostly stopped, however we used all our hotel towels mitigating the water leak. The staff offered an adjacent room for us to stay in. However, it was very late at night and we had sleeping children and being that the water leak seemed to have stopped on its own we opted to stay in our room.  When we came back to our room the next day, the water leak was still active.  The hotel had not sent anyone to fix the leak and they had not sent anyone from housekeeping to clean up the huge water mess.  I went and spoke with the front desk staff personally and asked for assistance, however we never received any for the remainder of our stay. We spent the majority of our time out of the room because of this issue. We then had to leave the property several hours earlier than our scheduled check out time due to the bathroom being unusable. It was unusable because of an active water leak and a standing water all over the floor. Again, I called down to the front desk early on the morning of our check out to ask for assistance and they didn't provide any. After telling them that morning what the issues were that we were having, the response from staff was "Ok". The onsite manager was never available, and I was never able to speak to them.  This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had and I will not be staying a best western ever again.

My dad booked cabin 11. This cabin needed a lot of updating and repairs. The dishwasher did not work, the hot water only lasted for 3 minutes, the paint was missing on walls and the deck was also in bad shape. The bathroom floor was rotting away. The decor was shabby and the cabin needed a deep cleaning. Carpets were disgusting. The fridge froze our food. Many of the light fixtures were missing bulbs or the bulbs were dead. My parents and I were very disappointed in this cabin as it was over $400/night. My dad called during the stay to make complaints and the host did not call back. He made several other attempts to contact her to request at least partial refund and she never called him back. See photos.

I probably saw 3 guests the course of my 14 hour stay. Eerie right? The dated decor didn't help either. However, I attest that this lodge is worth the stop. All of the workers were nice, the mattresses were extremely comfy, and the views were beautiful. All components of a great stay. Truthfully maybe this place doesn't deserve five stars. There is a privacy curtain and a blackout curtain over the window. Between the privacy curtain and the courtyard limiting sunlight, the room needed lights on at every time of day. A desk by the window had the one chair in the room. A small closet holds an iron and board. The ironing board had no cover to pad the metal making it useless. Space for one suitcase is just inside the door. We needed another suitcase rack but honestly, there wasn't space in the room for a portable one to be set up. The room was clean enough and the tub surround seems newer. The toilet is surprisingly low to the ground. Good amount of vanity space. Sink is 'in room' with the toilet and shower behind a door. There is an overhead heat lamp in the shower area. Towels are standard weight and clean. Multi-use products in shower. The bed is a bit soft for my preference, with clean sheets, a blanket and standard size pillows. Mini-fridge and microwave under the TV. Adding hooks just inside the door would have been welcome, as would some bright decor to make the space feel more welcoming. There is one coin operated washer and dryer for guest use and vending machines at ground level, only available during specific hours. The ice machine there does not work and the explaination 'we've been having trouble with that' feels like 'it hasn't worked in quite some time' to me. Problematic for travelers who need ice for medicine or food items. aka: why we book rooms with a fridge. No elevator to upper level so be prepared to carry luggage up the exterior staircase. All rooms are accessed from the outside. The breakfast room, through the lobby, also overlooks the courtyard and the blinds there were kept closed during breakfast service. That small oversight made the space dark and cave like. Breakfast included cold cereals, toaster items plus pre-packaged pastry, fresh fruit, waffles, two hot items, coffee and juice. Bus your table. Breakfast is not monitored by staff, the tables needed to be wiped down and many guests walked out with second breakfast. The lobby is also dark with the glass doors and windows under the portico the only source of sunlight. There is a sofa by the window there, a coffee station and some travel brochures The front desk was often unmanned. There are three 'member' parking spots and one handicap spot in the private lot at the front. The covered 'drop off' area is available by the lobby and seems to be used as staff parking. Ground floor rooms have paved pathways from the lobby to the room doors. All guests will need a raincoat to access the lobby during inclement weather. Located near the ocean and Redwood National forest the hotel is close for driving to trailheads in the National Park. The hotel is just outside the 'downtown' area and close to restaurants, coffee shops, an aquarium, a National Park visitor center, waterfront parks and a coastal trail. This hotel is 'bare bones', providing just enough with none of the small touches that make a stay more pleasant. They have what you need. Note: this city is in a tsunami zone, as much of the coastline is, so have an evacuation plan in mind jic.

A lot of people who were vacationing, just passing through or here on business were staying here. Everything worked as it should. Reasonable rates, I would stay here again.
