crawfish kickers(we had already eaten two) So it was a good portion for appetizer.

Cute little restaurant and bar. The place was very clean. We ordered the crawfish kickers for appetizers. They were really good. For our meal we ordered the blackened shrimp wraps. It came with a lot of seasoned fries. The wraps were very tasty. The shrimp were small but it was a good portion. The service was quick, helpful, and polite. The bathroom was also clean.

Food is priced affordably and the quality is just as good. Fast and friendly service also.

Food is awesome. Two things to enhance the dining experience and menu would be a gumbo and eatouffee.

Service was great! Oysters were not fried enough, kind of stuck together! Soft shell crab was delicious!

Food was sadly just not good at all. The crab cakes, fried shrimp, and even french fries were nasty. The service was good though!

Babyyyyy let me tell y'all... I would have gone out HAPPY Saturday night after eating here and that…read moreis NOT an exaggeration ‍ From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was so peaceful and welcoming. And can we talk about the music?! Christian music playing the whole time -- that's all we listen to, so my son was over there having his own little concert knowing every word lol. It just felt GOOD in there. Now listen... they were BUSY busy (Saturday night, so we expected that), and we were starvingggg, so we skipped the appetizers -- which honestly hurt my feelings a little because they sounded SO good And I HAVE to shout out the server/owner -- because baby, my dad is 80 years old and will talk to ANYBODY about ANYTHING. When I say they handled him like a pro... I mean patient, kind, laughing with him, never rushing him off -- just truly good people. If you know, you know Let's get into the food though I ordered the BBQ bacon cheeseburger (no onions) with fries... AND a fresh squeezed lemonade that was absolutely BOMB ‍ Like refreshing, perfect, not too sweet -- I could've had about three of those, easy My dad got the surf & turf burger, my sister got a regular burger, my brother-in-law had the crawfish étouffée with fried catfish, and my son got chicken fingers. We did have a bit of a wait, but honestly it gave us time to sit, talk, and enjoy being together -- no complaints there BUT BABY... when that food hit the table... Not. One. Word. Except "OMG this is the best thing I've ever eaten!!!" That burger?!?! I'm not even kidding -- I would request that as my LAST MEAL. It was THICK, juicy, cooked perfectly. The bacon? Crispy perfection The sourdough bun? Soft, fluffy, just holding everything together like it was sent from Heaven The BBQ sauce wasn't overpowering -- just right. AND let me say this... I am the DIPPING SAUCE QUEEN I normally need ranch, ketchup, something on the side at all times... but this burger?! I didn't touch a single sauce. Not ONE. It stood on its own and didn't need a thing I did not stop eating until it was GONE. No to-go box. No shame. No regrets. I usually can't even finish a burger anywhere, but this one?? I couldn't put it down. And when I tell you EVERYONE cleaned their plates -- I mean EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. Even my son, who is VERY picky about his "chicken nuggets," was tearing those chicken fingers UP and talking about how good they were So will I be back? ABSOLUTELY. Will I recommend it? Already have ‍ Will I start a petition (or boycott ) if they ever take that burger off the menu? Don't test me. Also... sorry there are no pictures We turned into straight feral animals the second that food hit the table 10/10 -- run, don't walk.

Ordered the etoufee and catfish, catfish was delicious but the etoufee had very little rice so we asked for a side of rice and about 10 minutes later we were told they didn't have any more and would have to cook some more which would take 15 more minutes. Not a pleasant experience. Way too long.

Not only was it busy but it was slammed and they say it's like this all day long. My foodie cohort and I ordered 5lbs of crawfish and the shrimp and catfish platter with fries and onion rings to split. The crawfish was the best I have had and Bob agreed. What a place to visit. The folks around us were kind and friendly and referring foods and places to go. Recommend you get here and prepare for a little waiting for seating unless you just want to grab a few lbs of crawdads, shrimps, crabs and so on to take home with you. Great service, awesome ambiance and amazing food.... Remember to support your local eateries so we both don't starve...

I got the $10 lunch special of 1/2 po'boy and cup of seafood gumbo. Loved that I actually got a gumbo FULL of seafood and it tasted wonderful too. It was perfect for a cold day. The po'boy was actually larger and a 1/2. Shrimp was fried crispy perfectly, bread was fresh. I left full. I did order a side of fries and they came out cold. Our waitress never came back to check on us so we could ask for new fries. They also charge $3 for a styrofoam cup. It's not asked, it's handed to you and charged. I'm only a water drinker so $3 for tap water is annoying. Food also took quite a long time for an after lunch rush. Would maybe recommend pre-ordering to go if you're on a time crunch.

She made suggestions from the menu and had all of our food on the table at the same time. The food was very good and I highly recommend the hamburger which I ordered medium rare. The others in our group ordered other items and everyone was very pleased with their food selection. The menu offers a variety of items so everyone can find something they like. I ordered a cocktail and found it to be excellent. I would highly recommend Mariner's Inn for a casual but really good meal. The ambiance was good to me as it featured pictures of older shipping vessels and items. Overall an excellent place to eat and or drink.

How the mighty fall. Mariner's Inn used to be one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Hammond…read more Apparently the restaurant has changed hands, and the new direction it has taken disappoints me. The sports bar aspect of the business has been emphasized and the food quality diminished. The food isn't bad, but it's certainly not the standout it used to be. For example, the hamburger steak entre I ordered was okay, but it was $12 for the patty covered in gravy and mushrooms, one side, and "garlic bread." My side was plain rice - no extra brown gravy on it, despite my request - and the garlic bread strips were small. I suppose everything these days is expensive, but it felt underwhelming. I also ordered a cup of the soup of the day: shrimp and corn. My former favorite - I used to visit specifically for that dish - it's now best described as unmemorable. The service was friendly and fine, despite some mistakes. With one room now basically dedicated to the bar and pool tables, there's a more noticeable "sports bar" vibe, though I don't think there were a bunch of TVs in the dining area? I wasn't really paying attention to that. If you're looking for a place to play pool, drink, and eat something decent, sure, this is still a good bet. But if you're just looking to go out and have a great meal in Hammond, Mariner's Inn no longer makes the recommendation list.
