PopUp Bagels Review I definitely won't be back until some of the chaos dies down. The bagels are good, but the overall experience was a little overwhelming. First, they REALLY need to turn the music down. It was so loud that employees and customers could barely hear each other. There's also very limited space, so don't expect to sit down and enjoy your bagels. It's more of a grab your bagels and go situation with people everywhere. I also wasn't aware that you can't purchase individual bagels. You have to buy a minimum of three, which comes out to $15. That caught me completely off guard because I didn't know beforehand. Now, the good part: the bagels were delicious! I tried the plain and salted bagels, and loved them both. They came out hot, fresh, and perfectly chewy. And that brown sugar cinnamon butter?! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The bagels are so good with that butter that it literally melts in your mouth. So, despite the chaos, I'd say it's definitely worth experiencing at least once. I just need to figure out the right time to visit when things aren't as hectic. Parking also sucks because it's mostly street parking, and there are A LOT of one-way streets to navigate.

I recommend getting the everything or sesame bagel. As for the schmears, I didn't enjoy the Chesapeake Spice as much as it's overly salty unless you're dipping the smallest amount. I really enjoyed the chocolate chip banana bread schmear. It is $15 for 3 bagels and 1 schmear (at a minimum). I don't recommend refrigerating it, so eat it fresh because it gets very hard. The space is small, but a great grab & go spot. There's also a free parking garage next door. The service is great. I was rung up by such a kind and welcoming gentleman.

Finally! PopUp Bagels in Bethesda. A real contender for best bagel in Montgomery County, if not Maryland. I love that they're hot and fresh, crispy on the outside, airy on the inside, and my favorite Everything bagel is just doused with toppings on the outside. Rip and dip - the only problem is, when you dip an Everything bagel, it leaves a trail of Everything in the dip, so you'll get dirty looks from the non-Everything folks that you might be sharing with. Regardless, it's still got the taste you'll crave. Thumbs up - you gotta give this place a try!

Wanted to see what the hype was about! Went around 12:30 pm during the week and there were probably two people ahead of me. I struggled to see what types of bagels there were (a me problem!). I didn't realize there was a 3 bagel and one schmear minimum. I was surprised it took a while for us to get our bagels! Because of the wait, we received an extra bagel. I ordered salt bagel and everything bagels with scallion cream cheese. The bagel was warm and not too difficult to rip apart. I like the crunch on the outside of the bagel, but felt the inside was a big chewy. Maybe I'm a creature of habit but dipping it in the schmear, or cream cheese, was different. Not bad overall but I have my go to bagel places I think I'd go to over PopUp Bagels!

Wonderful spot to grab a quick, amazingly brewed cup of coffee in Bethesda! I first fell in love…read morewith Grace Street Coffee Roasters in college, when I would visit their OG location in Georgetown's Grace Street every Friday morning. Now that I've moved a bit further away from campus and no longer have a ton of time on Friday mornings, I've been feeling nostalgic about my old university favorite. So just imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon Grace Street Coffee in Bethesda! This lovely little shop is a bit different from their Georgetown counterpart -- for one, they don't have any indoor seating and consist of just a tiny little window that you can order from and a small patio you can pop a squat on when the weather is nice -- but sports the same outstanding coffee and friendly service. Their coffee is great, all roasted in their historic Georgetown spot and featuring great caramel-y, fruity undertones. And, while they have a small shop in Bethesda, it is mighty; all of the drinks are prepared with expert precision and efficiency. You might have to wait in line for a bit, since there are only two people working here and it gets pretty busy, especially during the weekends, but it's 100% worth the wait.

Thought why not both? Meter parking all around should be easy to get if not on a Sunday. Not far away from a church is why: Overall coffee is not bad, I've had better around the area, so does the matcha. I'd come back for a quick coffee stop. There are other locations that may be an actual cafe shop. I think?

TL;DR: aesthetically pleasing, but food/pastries/drinks were a let down…read more Finally got to try maman after always wanting to try it. When you first walk in, the interior is very cutely decorated. There is plenty of seating inside and outside, as well as some communal tables. They have an extensive menu of drinks and food, including a case full of pastries. Service was fine. Coffee came out first, but then our food did not come out for ~20-25 minutes. FOOD: Pastries: Overall, the flavors were okay, but the technical components and textures were way off. ~Nutella beignet (1/5): I would not call this a beignet, but just a donut. It was dry and dense, and the Nutella filling was minimal ~Kouign maman (2.5/5): the flavor tasted normal, but it was not flaky or crisp on the outside and papery on the inside. Hard to cut into and not crumb-y ~Brown butter croissant bar (2.5/5): again, flavor tasted like brown butter with a little bit of cinnamon, but the pastry was flimsy and soggy. ~Croque maman (2/5): I assume this was a play on a croque monsieur. The cheesy crust on the top of the bread was hard as a rock and tasted burnt. The filling to bread ratio was off. There was like maybe a teaspoon of bechamel. Flavor did not deliver. ~Chicken Caesar wrap (2.5/5): It was fine, but underdressed again. There was no cheese or croutons or anything. Just chicken and lettuce and like 2 slivers of pickled onions. Additionally, for the price point and portion size, it just wasn't worth it.

Yummy coffee flight and a huge menu selection!…read more The gentleman at Baruch Cafe makes thee best espressos. The coffee flights are well worth the price. So good; I got two flights during my first visit, went back a week later to take my daughter. This will be a stop when I'm in the area or want a tasty coffee flight. My favorites in order: - Bon Bon: be sure to mix it before you drink. All the good stuff needs to be blended with a few stirs. - Honey: this reminds me more of a tea. I'd would drink this at the end of the flight which makes sense where it's placed. - Biscoff cappuccino: the cookie is a nice treats to bite and drink. My daughter ended up letting hers melt in the cappuccino which still ended up tasting good. - Pistachio: I love the tasty pistachio around the rim of the cup. A taste with each sip is yummy. - Tiramisu: this was good with the cookie. Another nice treat with each sip. - Affogato: you can't go wrong with ice cream so it hard to place this further down the line. - Nutella: it can go either way; mixed or just wast for yummy Nutella along the way as you drink. - S'mores: this was simple yet I do appreciate the marshmallows. The ham and cheese croissant was warm and filling. The chicken empanadas were delicious. Pick a cozy seat at a couch or table seat to enjoy your food and drinks. This place is highly enjoyable to have a cute breakfast, snack or drink while solo or with family or friends.

Even thought drinks and food took awhile to come out, that is part of the order. Each order is made with a lot of TLC. The coffee flights looked absolutely fantastic; unfortunately, I am not a coffee drinker. I did get the fresh passionfruit juice. I absolutely loved the juice. Various sandwich and croissants were all winners. A place I would like to visit again.
