Delicious bagels ! Service is welcoming Always a positive energy Area is always clean and nice out to eat Well recommended for breakfast! 10/10

Cinnamon raisin with lox spread. Amazing at other places... not here.

I used to think Pops was pretty good. But today I realized they are nothing special. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with lox spread. I always get this at Hank's. When I took a bite I noticed a glaring difference. The cinnamon raisin was not vibrant and there was hardly any lox in the lock spread. It just tasted and looked like regular cream cheese. The bagel also lacked chewiness. I probably won't return because I realize now how inferior these bagels are.

Another lesson in driveby kindness: The smallest kindness is always rewarded even though it's the kindness itself that is the reward. After I picked up my mail at my BH office, I went to Pops Bagels across the street from my office. A young Latino man behind the counter asked what I wanted. I told him I wanted one gluten-free everything bagel and one sesame bagel. He told me that he only had sesame and plain. I threw my head down on the counter and said that all I wanted was a simple request and now my day is ruined. I exclaimed how can life be so difficult at times. He laughed, and I proceeded to tell him that I used to own a restaurant and I'm gluten intolerant so life is not fair but I write restaurant reviews and in all my restaurant hunting I have never found a restaurant with the name, mother, mama, or Madre in its name that wasn't excellent. I told him my theory is that one would never want to besmirch their mother's name by putting mother in the name of the restaurant and serving lousy food. However, I said the same did not apply to father, dad or pop as exemplified by the fact that I've been denied my choice of bagels. He was silent for a minute and he said you know you're right, every restaurant I've been to with Madre in the name has been really good. I said see. We laughed and he went and got me what I ordered which was two sesame bagels, but when he handed me the bag, he said I gave you an extra on the house. These are the best GF bagel's: soft inside, chewy, toast beautifully, large and as regular tasting as I remember before I was diagnosed Celiac.

I'm on a determined quest to find the best bagels in Los Angeles and @popsbagelsla is top of my list! Nothing beats the Nova Lox sandwich, with the onion bagel was incredible! The merch and workers are the sweetest, I will be wearing this adorable sweatshirt in cozy season. I'm going to meticulously list off all the schemer flavors so you can be impressed by the variety: scallion, jalapeño, vegan, lox, strawberry, lemony, plain, butter, and tuna. A magical spot with $12 incredible breakfast burritos and the best matcha latte. Don't forget the cookies!

As I was walking around Beverly Hills early in the morning, I needed something to nourish my tummy, so I popped in for a bagel or two. I ordered an everything bagel and an onion bagel with salmon smear. I was quite pleased with the bagel quality and size. The salmon spread was good but not out of this world. Of course, I might be a tough judge as I have had some of the best bagels and smears in the world on the east coast. Bagels cost at least 2.50 a piece. Specialty bagels are more. The salmon smear is a bit pricy- 6 dollars for the smear along- may be best to get a side order of smear if they sell them. I did not see that on their menu. The inside space is small but seemed liked most people take their food to go- well at least at 7am in the morning when they opened. The atmosphere was clean and comfy. The service provided early in the morning was friendly. The lady was very patient and kind.

    Nova lox on everything

Came on a weekday morning and there was no line; got the nova lox on everything. The bagel itself did not impress this New Yorker - it was a little hard and could have been more flavorful - but props for great lox and amazing tomato. And for serving it open-faced. As for the eternal "bagels are better in NYC" argument... Gotta be the water, right?

Everything bagel! Completely covered in seasoning that stays on the bagel not the plate or napkin!

Cute little shop in the middle of the bustle of Beverly Hills! The woman was extremely nice and the bagels are outstanding! The everything bagel is the best I've ever had! The coffee was delicious! The bagels are perfect! Fluffy and just the right chewy mouth feel, of and they're big! I usually toast my bagel, I tried half toasted and half not and got the first time I decided these are so good they don't need to be toasted!!!! I arrived early to pick up my bagels and was surprised at how wonderfully I was treated! This is my new go to bagel place!

Fast & friendly service. Yummy bagel. I ordered the Bacon, avocado & cream cheese on a plain bagel. The bagel was toasted to a crispy perfection and tasty. On the more expensive side but then again what isn't these days!

I got two cookies from Pops Bagels. White chocolate macadamia & chocolate chip cookies were so freaking delicious. The service was great and convenient. This is a great spot for a quick snack providing a pleasant ambiance.

They have vegan cream cheese here thankfully. The bagel was delicious. I made my own with veggies and vegan spread and toasted, it came out so good! Service was friendly and fast. Definitely will come again.

I love this place! Bagels are soft and the service is wonderful.

Give it a try, you'll see the difference for sure. They offer gluten free as well. The place is cute and the people have always been nice.

They have comfy indoor and outdoor seating. Very easy to pick up to-go. They have brunch all day. Special menus for the month. Coffee and specialty coffee drinks. They are 100% gluten free and certified kosher. I revisited Modern Bread and Bagel twice more since my last review (which was delivery). Service in house was great both times. But the quality of the food was vastly different. On one visit we ordered the raspberry matcha loaf, orange loaf, and chocolate zucchini loaf. The raspberry matcha was my favorite of the three. We also got the potato leak quiche which was yummy. I ordered the Farmer's Market bagel but when I got home I noticed they gave me Spicy Feta bagel instead. Tried calling to let them know but they didn't pick up. It turned out to be a happy accident. We wanted to go back and get it again. We liked it so much. I also got the zaatar tuna which was tasty but it was a bit too crunchy for me with lots of celery. Some people may like it that way but I like it more smooth. My next visit however, was not a success. It was, again, a to-go order. Sadly, none of the food tasted fresh. I ordered pastries and the Spicy Feta again. The bagel on the Spicy Feta was hard as a rock. We were unable to cut it with a knife. Such a shame. A sharp difference from the time before. At a bagel shop I expect consistency in the quality of bagels. The pastries, although beautiful to look at, didn't seem like they were made that day. I tried to call the restaurant multiple times to let them know about the bagel and pastries but no one ever answered. I was disappointed that I couldn't reach out to a team member to solve the issue. They really need to get someone to answer the phone. I really wanted to give this restaurant 4 or 5 stars because it has so much to offer and the concept is wonderful. However, the quality of the food was inconsistent and there was no way to reach out to them to solve the issue. It's a gamble on what kind of meal you will get and it shouldn't be that way. I really hope this problem gets fixed because this place has so much potential and I really did enjoy the food the first two times.

In comparison to other bagel shops in LA, this spot falls right in the middle. Unfortunately, what…read morereally holds it back is the price point and the overwhelming hype--both from long lines and TikTok buzz--that doesn't quite match the experience. The scale tips more toward the downside when it comes to the bagels themselves. The toppings aren't particularly unique, or consistent, and the bagel had a noticeably firm texture that didn't stand out in a good way. What initially drew me in--and ultimately prompted this review, my first review--was the coffee. After trying 50+ coffee shops over the past 2 years alone, I can honestly say this was one of the more disappointing lattes I've had. I ordered a whole milk latte, and the best way to describe it is simply: watery. It wasn't milk-forward, not sweet, and surprisingly not even very coffee-forward. Instead, it had a slightly herbal, almost oily, burnt-bean flavor that felt diluted with water. I also ordered the carrot cake latte, which had the same base issue. The carrot cake foam helped mask it a bit, but it tasted more like a strong sugar cookie flavor than anything close to carrot cake. In the end, giving grace, perhaps it was just a "bad barista day". Overall, it's not terrible--but definitely not worth the hype or the price. *If visiting on the weekend arrive before 9:30 to beat the line if you dare.*

Oh, it presents as a textbook Jewish deli of old, with traditional brown booths and paneled dividers, dark Formica tables, and a menu featuring the greatest hits of deli dining. But the food here is overpriced and underwhelming, like so many of the other delis around town these days. The staff is nice, for sure. They welcome you with smiles, seat you quickly, and immediately offer you drinks. Everything is clean and well-preserved, so you feel like you're in for a great meal. I ordered my usual: Pastrami on Rye, Russian Dressing on the side, with Potato Salad. To drink: Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray, the very best soda for cutting through the richness of deli meat. The sandwich came promptly, and looked quite nice. The portion was appropriate for a normal sandwich (as opposed to being ridiculously stuffed), and the pastrami was nicely marbled. But looks can be deceiving. The bread was a bit too dense -- possibly made that way, or possibly a touch stale. Either way, after 2 bites I abandoned the bread and just ate the meat. The pastrami, while juicy with a soft texture, lacked flavor. I believe they bring their meat in from a purveyor, and the lack of inspiration is evident. Potato salad was also generously portioned, but had far too much mustard, and the result is a side dish that feels more Southern Picnic than Lower East Side. Again, this is a Deli serving a so-so sandwich at a price nearly the same as Katz's in NYC, and it's a shame. It's just not worth it. I've come to find that the best pastrami in Los Angeles is being served at places Johnny's in West Adams or on special at BBQ places, and usually at 2/3's the price. When it comes to Nate & Al's, I wouldn't say never go, but I wouldn't expect much bang for your buck -- or in the case of the pastrami sandwich, your 27-bucks.

The bagel is mid/overpriced and the wait is crazy. Even with a short line today we received one half bagel and drink then had to wait another 30 mins for the other half bagel. Staff have the worst attitude but I probably would too if i had to deal with nonstop customers. Strictly for the hype and not the food, which you can tell based on the lack of diversity in patrons despite the location.
