Akers replaced my waterline from the street, under a granite rockery and a concrete walkway. They…read moredid very professional and timely work. The small amount of interior plumbing where the line came into the house was very clean. Super neat solder joints. Andy had good suggestions about replacement of the remainder of my old galvanized piping. Communication and bid process were very clear. During the City inspection, I spoke with the Inspector, who said that Akers always does quality work.

We had a new main water line to our house installed to replace the original galvanized steel. We…read morefound Akers through a reference from another plumber giving us a quote for interior work as part of the same overall project, who told us that while he would be willing to do the exterior/trenchless work himself, we should really contact this company (Akers) he knew, that it was their bread and butter. We did decide to use Akers, and overall we were very pleased with that choice. The factors that most won me over from their estimate was the clear level of expertise and familiarity that Ryan showed, along with the confidence from knowing that someone who was going to be doing the work was the one evaluating the situation. As an example, the path from the meter to our house crosses under the driveway as well as intersecting with our neighbor's side-sewer in an easement. Plenty of other plumbing companies expressed they'd have no trouble dealing with the situation in a trenchless run, but only Akers went as far as pointing out the exact spots they'd dig their pits and how that pathing would make sure there was no chance of boring through the side-sewer. Similarly, Ryan was the only one to point out how the existing line was part of our electrical grounding, and discuss using copper for a suitable distance outside the house before the switchover to PEX in order to keep things functional and compliant. In terms of contracting/business-ops there some amount of looseness that a larger company might not display (minor delays in sending documents, nebulous arrival time on the day of the work) but nothing that was really problematic, and I'd certainly rather have the tiny hiccups of working with real humans versus some overly-polished private-equity machine. Traci was gracious and clear when responding to my inquests, even over the weekend when she was self-admittedly out of town, which is above and beyond in my book. In terms of price I think they were perfectly fair, they weren't the lowest quote we had, but landed slightly below most of the other numbers we got, not anything where I felt like I was getting an enormous steal, but I had no qualms about the number they asked. The actual project work itself went great, they had the entire replacement done on one day in about 5 or 6 hours with minimal disruption, and even took the time to keep the top sod layer for each pit relatively intact in order to replace, so that by the time they left, you could barely tell where they had dug. The minimal interior work that was part of the project (new hole through the foundation concrete, new main shutoff valve and hookup to the rest of the interior plumbing) was similarly spotless. If we ever need similar outdoor plumbing work in the future, Akers is going to be an easy first call for an estimate.

VERIFIED THE BEST! The City of Mercer Island sent notice that we needed a backflow test. The notice…read moreincluded a list or 40 companies that were approved by the city. I loaded all 40 of them into my Claude AI program and asked the AI to tell me which one was the best. Which one had the highest ratings and had no bad feedback. It came back stating that 5 Star Backflow was the BEST of the 40 approved companies! I then called Josh, the owner of 5 Star Backflow, and he and his team worked around the clock to help me because I was up against a deadline. His communication with us was spectacular and thanks to him our water did not get cut off. We even had a complication with the backflow valve being broken, but he got it taken care of and he went way above and beyond to help us. I wish I could give him a 100 stars, because he is the real deal and he deserves a great review. If you need a backflow company, 5 Star Backflow is the absolute best! Thank you Josh!

I've been using 5 Star Backflow Services for my required city backflow inspections for years now…read moreand I've always been happy with the service, so it's probably time for a review. Once they had me in their system, they started contacting me in advance to schedule the test each year, which I really appreciate since the city notice doesn't usually give a lot of turnaround time. This year the city surprised me by sending the notice a month early, and I was on vacation when the notice came. This left me with just over a week before it was due. I contacted 5 Star Backflow Services and they were able to do the test just a couple days later. After the test they always send the report directly to the city within 24 hours. I have been very pleased with the service. Thank you!

As this wasn't an emergency, the dispslatcher said it would be today or tomorrow before a plumber would be sent. He was sent today. Sean called and arrived early afternoon and looked at the repair. He presented us three options and solid estimates. We chose the middle one and then decided to also ask about a toilet replacement. Again, Sean presented us options and we agreed to one He gave us. As he didn't have the toilet on his repair truck, Bee's dispatched an employee with a new toilet. Sean was very professional in his work, answering questions as he proceeded with the work. He mentioned a couple of things that needed replacing due to their aging. We agreed to have them replaced. When Sean presented the invoice, it was exactly as he stated. At no time did he try to "upsell" items were didn't need, unlike other plumbing firms in this area that are heavy TV advertisers. I would recommend Bee's Plumbing to anyone that ask! Thank you, Sean! And, thanks to your employer for all they have taught you, in not only the aspects of plumbing but also in customer service!

Only now my kitchen is torn apart, and I was informed today that the restoration company has a backlog on the restoration of over a month and that I have to contract my own restoration company if I want it done sooner. I've contacted Bees and am waiting for a call back, yet again. I'd like to provide some feedback to Bees: I have made a total of 4 calls to your company over the last several weeks. Your customer service staff has always been friendly and concerned about resolving this issue. I leave the calls feeling like this issue will get handled. However, every time I have been told that a manager will contact me. This has not happened once. Not one phone call from someone in charge to reach out to me, to apologize, let me know what the plan is, what to expect, what the timeline is. I'm honestly fine with a phone call that says "we don't know but we're working on it. We'll call you on this day with more information." I don't understand why no one has reached out to me for a 5 minute phone call to let me know I'm not being ignored, in over a month. That needs to change.

Their office was responsive when I…read morecontacted them, and I really appreciate that they were able to come out to see my condo to give me a free estimate. I contacted multiple other plumbers and they all charged $35-150 just to visit and give an estimate (they "waived" this fee if you chose to hire them, which I think is their strategy). Rain City Plumbing was able to come out and take a look at my shower quickly, and they gave me very clear and transparent estimates for how much it might cost. The two gentlemen who came by were uniformed, neat, and very polite and patient when explaining things to me. They were respectful of my home, and took off their shoes without me asking (when they needed to go further into a carpeted area to look at the back of my wall). They also followed up with me later to offer me a discount on the cost of parts. When I told them I was waiting to hear back from some of the other plumbers I had contacted, they were understanding and they actually recommended that I shop around and get quotes. I really appreciate that they were very willing to educate me as a new home owner, instead of trying to take advantage of me. While I didn't hire Rain City Plumbing to work on my job in the end, it was purely because I got a more competitive rate elsewhere. I still would highly rate Rain City Plumbing because of the great customer service I received. Thank you!
