This location uses an automated system for ordering in the drive thru. Make sure to take a picture of the final order on the screen as they do not hand out receipts. I ordered a Shrimp Tackle box. It's supposed to be shrimp, a side and a biscuit. The AI asked if I wanted to make it a combo. Here's where I may partially be at fault because I said no. The Shrimp Tackle box already came with a side and a biscuit. I ordered a large coke and an additional biscuit. The ordering screen said I ordered a Shrimp Tackle box w/cocktail sauce, a large coke and an additional biscuit. Price came to $18.99. I should have taken a picture of the screen. I was not given a receipt at the window and was asked to park out front while the shrimp cooks. BTW, this is not a complaint about the staff who were friendly and accommodated my request to swap out the cocktail sauce for BBQ sauce. When my meal was brought to my car there were only 8 shrimp and sauce, nothing else that was pictured with the Shrimp Tackle Box. There was no receipt in my bag either. I did go back in and at least got the extra biscuit I had ordered, but since I didn't have a receipt I couldn't prove I had ordered the Shrimp Tackle box and not just a single order of shrimp. So the moral of this story is, when AI and not a person is taking your order, take a picture of the order screen and say yes to the combo, even if you are already ordering a combo. Worst possible service I've ever experienced at any fast food restaurant. The only way to improve would be to either train the worker to know how to print receipts and give the sauces that I paid for or to just straight up fire her. She did not provide good service, I sat at the drive thru window for over a minute without being greeted, then had to wait over 10 minutes for my meal, then didn't have the ranches that I had ordered. She had well over 10 minutes to put two ranches into a bag but she was uncapable of doing that. She wasn't even nice or personable. Terrible service, terrible interaction, terrible experience at this Popeye's. Will literally never return to this establishment because it was only good the first week it was open and I have never had a single good experience since. First, the front cashier's machine wasn't working, so she moved to the other side and used her phone, holding it backward while she waved my card over it. I was confused about what was happening. She then said, "I am not stealing anything from you!" to which I replied, "Who said that you are?" can I have my card now because it's been with you for 4 minutes. As I left, I noticed them laughing at my frustration. I took my phone and asked my boyfriend to come with me because their sketchy behavior was unsettling. I've ordered many times from here and was a loyal customer. I will not return here again, I ordered dark meats because my kids don't like white meat. When I do a custom order the pieces I get seems to purposely made small. I use to get employees treats for taking my order (I didn't have to or any obligations to.) but I did. This is how I get repaid? By giving me overly cooked small pieces? This is not the only time btw. Went to Turlock and did the same custom order as usual. Pieces were big, fresh and tasted excellent. (no problem) paid and pulled around to wait where they asked me to. I had been the only car in the drive thru, but as I waited I noticed people going inside, ordering, getting their food and leaving. I waited in my car more than 20 min before I went inside to ask about my order. The food has always been SUPER fresh, accurate, and we've experienced outstanding customer service each time. They also have everything in stock, unlike Manteca who is literally ALWAYS out of stuff. Just this past weekend I did a mobile order. We pulled up and they said to park it'll be out in 5 min. Ripon's Popeyes has the worst service I've experienced from a fast food joint. 90% of the time, you'll be asked to park your car and wait. Even if you order from the online app, either for pick-up or dine-in, your food will not be made until you arrive at the building. Essentially, making ordering ahead useless. On top of that they tend to make more mistakes on orders compared to other establishments, so check your bag once you receive your food for missed items. If you're craving some Popeyes and are willing to put up with the BS, just set more time aside to accommodate for the bad service. We come here all the time and love the Classic and Spicy chicken sandwiches as well as Popeyes, macaroni and cheese, biscuits, blackened chicken, and yummy ghost peppers. I would rate them at Zero Stars, but that isn't possible. Every time I crave Popeyes I go to the one here in town, Ripon Popeyes. I have been going here since November and since then, they do an outstanding job. Food is always correct / delicious, great customer service and short waiting times. I get utensils, napkins, and plenty of sauce! I recommend not using the drive through and checking your order before you leave. I've ate here on multiple occasions both sit down and drive through. I've never had issues dining in, the food has always been good and my orders correct, the same cannot be said about the drive through. Every time I've gotten food from the drive through the order has been wrong in some type of way, as small as forgetting to put sauce in the bag, and as bad as getting the completely wrong order. Not once have I had a fully correct order when ordering from the drive through. This seems to be a common problem for them, as the times I have dinned in, I've seen at least 2 or 3 customers walk in complaining about an incorrect drive through order.
