Ok, ok. I tried the now famous spicy chicken sandwich. So yea, totally surprised. (Disclaimer: I haven't been to a Popeyes in two decades - not really my food level) I'm not sure what I was expecting but what I received really did surprise my taste buds. You immediately notice the thickness of the chicken meat, the freshness of the bun and the sauce. All compliment each other nicely. I think a really important part of a chicken sandwich is distribution and thickness of the sauce. With this sandwich there is no dripping out the back with the right amount to hit every bit. Some competitors chicken get soggy really fast on their sandwiches but this one stayed crunchy the whole time. So mark the day, I recommend Popeyes Spicy Chicken Sandwich. read more

So sad. If you ever read any of my reviews I don't do fast food very often. Sometimes I just want some hot and spicy chicken. Popeyes has always had really good, solid spicy chicken wings. They also have a Rojo sandwich I had never seen before. I ordered just the wings and sandwich, no sides. When I ordered the wings, the very nice lady gave me a look and she said, "You know they use a dry rub now...". Why didn't I take the warning?? They used to come to each location marinating in this really spicy, flavorful coating that delivered some serious heat.... No more. Now they take their plain wings - which aren't bad wings, they just aren't really hot, which is what I was looking for. Nope, they aren't hot at all. Very, very disappointing. Also, it took so long to get my wings that the person who took my order offered me free food to make up for it. I declined, I have to watch my waistline!! The Rojo sandwich arrived first and it was solid. I love the bread to chicken ratio this sandwich has. Really good sandwich and much spicier that the "Ghost Pepper" wings. Update: I finally reached a manger and she made it right. Our redo order was the quality you'd expect and the manger was so gracious and nice. Chicken was hot and tender. We will be coming again! //// Usually love Popeyes. Today, Sunday at 10:55, we ordered a 2 piece all white meal and a 3 piece all white meal. Got all dark with the 3 piece having one breast. Did not think to check it when they brought out to the car. We live close so should have still been warm when we got home. Chicken was barely lukewarm and the biscuits dry. The side were fine. Tried calling the survey number on ticket but due to a software issue it was not working. Called the actual store and it went to voicemail but mailbox full. So they don't really want feedback. Very rude and impatient... Hiss and sigh, rolling her eyes as if she hated her job. I even asked her if there was something wrong?, And she said, no, I'm just cold... It is always a treat to see our grandchildren get so excited about eating Popeyes. They love the chicken as do we. This visit however was honestly horrible. The food was a disaster and thd service was even worse. Our order was $ 66.00 and some change. When we got home the chicken pieces were so small that we could not believe they actually gave them to us. I ordered extra sides which were missing, and yes the pies were also missing. They charged us extra for the Mac & Cheese and then gave us 1/2 empty containers. I immediately called the stores and it took 8 times before someone actually answered. The lady we spoke to was very friendly and said our name would be in the book and she would replace our order and that since they were closing to go ahead and feed the chicken to the kids. Not once were we told to bring the food back because I would have made sure we did. I arrived at this store on today and was treated so bad that we just left with nothing in hand but a seriously broken heart and mindset for how bad Popeyes treated us. We were told that all they were replacing were the 8 pieces of small chicken and that for future reference they can not control what size the chicken is and will not replace it again. Then they asked me for the sides and refused to replace them since I did not bring the other ones back. Although I tried to explain about our telephone call, 4 nights earlier, we were treated as a thief. Today I waited for a manager to call me all day but never heard from anyone. I even called two other stores for help and was told if you leave your name and number we will have someone call you. Went in this afternoon and was the only customer. The all black staff refused to greet or even acknowledge my presence. After standing there being ignored for a couple of minutes I took my business elsewhere. I'll never give them another opportunity. It was painfully obvious that they just didn't like how I looked. We havent been here in over 10 years but kept seeing the sign for the sandwich so decided today was the day..I also saw they had red beans and rice which I love..the sandwich was huge and delicious, the red beans were very tasty for me but tho my hubby loved the taste he thought they were too dry..frys were good too..we will be back and plan on trying other items they have.. Probably one of the best ran Popeyes I have been to. Popeyes has really good fried chicken and their red beans and rice is great. The biggest issue with Popeyes is the establishment and their employees. Often the places are kind of sketchy; questionable cleanliness and employee that aren't quite to normal standards. The establishment only gets 2-3 stars because my order was SO WRONG, but I wanna give a BIG shout out to A 5 star employee named Aaron at this location! My girlfriend and I Went through drive through and ordered about 40$ worth of food. Most of what we reciveved was incorrect and we were also missing our desserts. So I took it back inside with my receipt where Aaron greeted me and he looked over the order. Wrong Order Dirty Gloves No Mask On August 6, 2020, at 4:35pm, on the way back to Gulf Shores, AL, from Pensacola, FL, I stopped by the Foley store to get some fried chicken for supper. I went through the Drive-Up and ordered a 4 piece combo. When I got to the window, the cashier handed me the bag with a box in it. I put the bag on the seat and paid with a debit card. There were two persons handling the window. One male wearing a mask, and clear latex gloves that looked like he'd had them on all day...sagging and loose. The female did not have a mask on. (Alabama has a Statewide Department of Public Health Order, approved by the Governor for everyone to wear masks. They have special orders for restaurant workers.) When I opened the bag, I found it contained 5 chicken tenders and BBQ sauce, some very soggy fries, and a very hard biscuit. Not what I ordered. The only thing Popeye's has that I like is the Fried Chicken. It is too far to take it back to Foley at that time, and I was too tired from the drive from Florida. In view of the problems I have enumerated, and possibly more that are not as visible, I decided it was best not to eat the food. ($10.44) This sounds to me that there is a Manager problem and shift supervisor problem at this restaurant. I wonder how deep the problem goes. I waited inside in line for over thirty minutes for one sandwich and a drink. The line was wrapped around the building and I heard one of the help say they needed to take care of the line before they helped the customers inside. Two of the girls working behind the counter were very rude and practically threw the food at the customers. One man didn't get one of his side orders and asked for it, and the girl working rolled her eyes at him and plunked his side order at him. My chicken sandwich had one pickle and no sauce at all. So disappointed in the sandwich and the lack of customer service. The managers were no help at all. It will be awhile before I go back. Foosacklys is looking better and better. I thawed it in the fridge for two days, apparently that was not enough because after an hour and forty five minutes in the oven at 350 degrees, the thermometer read 54 degrees . Staff was very friendly but during our visit they messed up on several people orders including my own. I ordered a 5 piece and only got 3 at first (which is what my friend ordered so I thought it was hers only I had spicy vs mild chicken) they quickly fixed it but forgot my friends utensils for her potatoes. In the past year we have been to this location three times (always at night & order to go) and our experience has been the same each time. The staff takes and fills our order quickly but they don't seems like a happy group compared to the Popeyes we normally visit in Pensacola (Navy Blvd location). The chicken and sides seem to be a little more dry, prompting me to believe they have been held too long since cooking.
