This restaurant is a nice one right on Highway 59 in Foley. We stopped to get seafood on our way to the beach. We seated immediately upon entering the restaurant by a very nice and friendly hostess. Our server came to get our order briefly, explained the menu and gave us time to make a decision. The decor is typical of a seafood restaurant. There are plastic crabs on the wall, pictures of beaches and other sea life. The service is very friendly and fast. The food itself was presented well flavored well and very tasty. I ordered the grilled flounder which came with coleslaw hush puppies and two sides. My chosen sides were sweet potato fries, and broccoli. Everything tasted delicious and was not too salty. My friend ordered the seafood platter. All of her meal was fried and looked very good. My friend was disappointed because she visits every year and noticed that they had removed white fish from the menu. Couple TVs on, a bar near the kitchen, inside and outside seating. The food comes in a plastic basket. Don't forget dessert. The Key Lime pie tastes to me like the real deal, and the brownie bites are the real star here. They also have their own beer, brewed by Fairhope Brewing. Otherwise it's the mass distributors. Would I recommend shrimp basket? Yes, on a couple of conditions. I would not eat at the one at the beach. It's a total tourist trap. We ate at the Foley location today for their happy hour and their oyster special. Being used to New Orleans area seafood you can get kind of spoiled with prices and amount of food compared to other areas. We had two dozen oysters that were beautiful Louisiana oysters by the way. They were fresh and very tasty. We had the fried pickles and Yuengling beer all on happy hour. Our waitress was justice and she did a fabulous job very friendly welcoming knowledgeable very pleasant. This is a locally owned chain. My uncle loves this restaurant and wanted us to visit when we came in town. Lots of seafood options, the drink specials were pretty Amazing too. They have both inside and outside seating. We opted to eat outside. My grandma ordered a salad, my uncle the shrimp po boy, and I ordered the pineapple habanero wings with fries. This place has good food, and the servers are helpful and friendly, but this particular restaurant had two servers when there should've been at least four servers. The gumbo, etoufee, and other seafood was right on point, but the raw oysters were about as lethargic as any oysters I've ever seen. The following day, we decided we wanted seafood again. We went into a different restaurant where the service was bad, so we left. Drove to another place, which appeared to be closed. We headed back to the place where we were staying. I spotted the shrimp basket, so we pulled in. I'm so glad we did. The food was amazing. Absolutely delicious, all fresh, we even ordered more than what we planned after receiving the first plate. It was well seasoned and hot. Not greasy at all. The sauces and sides were also amazing. Perfectly breaded & seasoned ... it was flaky and delicious. There were no complaints from my husband and son - who ordered coconut shrimp and a crawfish po'boy, which they shared both. My daughter also happily ate her Caesar salad with no complaints. This is a great stop on the way to any of the gulf coast beaches! The staff is super nice, very accommodating, and ready to please. They offer a variety of fresh seafood options, seasoned to perfection, cooked fresh, and delivered pretty quickly from the kitchen! It's a "hole in the wall" kind of place, but don't let that turn you away. We had four kids with us and even the chicken tenders are homemade! The batter is just enough and has great flavor. The shrimp are the perfect size and the fish is tender and flaky. They have amazing coleslaw and there are a variety of great appetizers featuring seafood, like queso and fried crab claws, but also have more traditional choices like fried pickles, mozzarella sticks, and spinach dip. The prices are very reasonable compared to other local offerings, but there can be a wait at certain times during the week.
