The food and service were horrible. We arrived for the early specials and they were late seating us. The attendant seated us with the early special menu but they would not honor it. If the waiter had been on time taking our order it would have been in by 5:15 the deadline. Will not be back. Overpriced and terrible service.

This was my first visit to this newest location of Doc's Seafood. Prior to this visit I've only eaten at the Doc's Seafood on Canal Road in Orange Beach. I have to say the experience at this Foley location was a massive upgrade from all my prior experiences at Doc's. I had their prime rib special for my initial visit and it was among the best prime rib experiences I've ever had. The service was attentive and the ambiance of the new building is really nice. They also have a nice looking salad bar here. Overall I was really happy with my overall experience and plan on adding this spot to my worthy of a return visit list.

We have been to the Orange Beach location several times and always enjoyed it. This is a new location so we gave them a try. Not much of a crowd at 8:00 pm on a Monday, but the service was good and the food as well. Everything is clean and new. My wife had the fried shrimp and had the spider sandwich. The shrimp were delicious as expected. My soft shell crab was small, but it was crispy and tasty. And as usual, we got too many French fries. The Mud Slide was chocolatey and refreshing. Our server, Samantha, was helpful and efficient. She took our orders and the food came out fast. We will probably stick with the location in Orange Beach, but this place is pretty good.

We came in at 5:57 and the early bird me is cut off at 6 pm. I jokingly asked if we could still order from that menu and the waitress very seriously said yes. So of course we were delighted. We placed our order and were given 2 salad bowls. I went up to the bar to make the salads and before I took the first bite, here came my entree. Goodness ok fast service. I had told the waitress that I would have a To Go order as well. As we were being rushed to eat, the waitress came over to me and sat down and said hey you probably want to go ahead and go up to the counter and place your to go order. I was not going to leave my meal to do that no. Anyways The whole experience was that we were there 20 minutes start to finish with our meal!!!!! I placed my to go order in which I was charged a 10% gratuity tip and then they had the nerve to ask for more!!! Yall pass on this place and go somewhere they appreciate a customer AND the tip

    Two pick four platters

We ordered 2, pick-4 platters of seafood which came out to $90 worth of food. The portion size was absolutely abysmal. The manager on call did speak with us and offered to help in whatever way she could. The quality of the food was nice though!

My parents, husband, and I all went here for supper last night. The building & staff were outstanding! I did not have to open a single door, the salad bar was constantly being topped off, and they kept the restaurant spotless! We all had cocktails, I even got TWO Slurricanes, yum! (all of the drinks were worth their price, I was "warm" after the first one). The Doc's house brew was light & refreshing, your typical house beer. As far as the food goes, it is pricey! I would recommend SHARING the platters, our eyes were bigger than our bellies. My husband got a cheeseburger, just your run of the mill burger, obviously not what they are known for lol. Favorites: The grilled seafood platter. I begged them to let me buy their seasoning. I am not a fan of fish, but I gladly ate half of it! A bit of knowledge, the boiled shrimp is supposed to be served COLD. The crab cakes were delish! As far as the Super Seafood platter, it is your typical fried seafood plate. The best part: The stuffed crab, so so good! Dislikes: The gumbo, 2/10 ): Unseasoned and unimpressive, maybe we went on an off night, as they sell their gumbo by the gallon. The only other dislike of the night was the soft shell crab. You couldn't even tell it was crab. However, their salad bar was amazing, every topping you could ask for and some yummy side dishes. Chicken salad, pasta salad, potato salad, and seafood salad. As well as your other odds and ends you find at a salad bar. Definitely worth a try, some really interesting items on the menu. I wish there were some smaller options that were a little more price friendly. Overall, I would come back after a payday, but not every week if that makes sense. The staff gets an 11/10 though! Outstanding service!

One of the standout touches is the little shop inside, filled with all kinds of great finds--soaps, mists, lotions, and even kitchen accessories. It's a fun bonus that makes the experience feel a bit more unique. We came in with a group of 16, and they were able to accommodate us in a separate space across from the main area, which worked out really well. If you're planning a visit with a large group, I'd definitely recommend calling ahead. Major shoutout to our server--she handled splitting the check six ways like a pro. Everything came out correctly and fairly close together, which is no small feat with a group our size. I ordered the mahi sandwich, and it was delicious. The bun was perfectly buttered, and the fish itself was flavorful and well-prepared. They also offer a salad bar if you're looking for something lighter. Prices are on the higher side, but that's pretty standard for seafood. Some dishes were served whole--bone-in and all--which caught a few people in our group off guard, but to me, that's usually a sign of freshness. The food did take a bit of time to come out, but given the size of our party, it was understandable. Overall, I really enjoyed our visit and would happily come back.

Our waiter was very polite and very friendly. It pains me say this, but we had awful experience with our food order. I ordered the grilled shrimp plate and husband ordered the fired oyster plate. My grilled shrimp plate, was over cooked. My husband fried oyster plate, " he found a long black hair... wrapped around one of the fried oyster". Manager took the fried oyster plate off our bill. People preparing the food " need to make sure they're wearing a hair nets."

It's the food folks go there for. The oysters were fresh and served in a simple appealing way. The fish was white and firm and delicious. The grilled shrimp they are famous for do not have a savory flavor, tastes more like they were grilled with honey on them. We were not expecting that at all. We did not like the 30 dollars worth of sweet shrimp. It does come in very generous portion if you like that type of flavor. Hush puppies were pretty darn good, light, nicely seasoned with good flavor. The Cole slaw was excellent. All portions were generous. Overall they are friendly, the service is personable and efficient! Ambiance is that of a local diner style, not fancy just comfortable. We liked everything but the sweet grilled shrimp. We are from the north and maybe it is just a southern style we aren't familiar with or used to consuming. The gumbo is pretty good too. They have great mixed drinks and they have one that is a salted caramel flavor that is really excellent. Overall: would highly recommend for a good meal and friendly service. Probably the best place we ate in the Orange Beach area.

It's smells clean not like stinky fish. They have a counter full of ice for fresh items, coolers for premade goods, and freezers for frozen items. There is also a very easy to understand menu. We were feeding 4 teenagers and 2 adults so we decided to go with 3 of the boils. We added in crab legs to two. The crab legs are frozen so you just pick out which pack you want. You have 3 seasons to choose from, mild, medium, or Cajun. We did the medium and Cajun. We also grabbed a container of their lump crab dip and a peanut butter pie. Oh and you can't forget the garlic butter. They even warmed it up for us. I will say with everything we got we probably could have fed at least one more person. We did have one teen that wasn't fond of shrimp but she ate plenty of other things. Our meal cost us just under $200. That's just over $33 per person with dessert for 6 people. The sausage was really good. It was the main thing the kids wished we had more of, that and potatoes. They are big potato fans. I didn't think the potatoes really had a chance to soak up the flavor but if you cut them open and rubbed them around it was good. I thought overall everything was a bit salty and that's a lot coming from me. I'm the girl that salts my chocolate chip cookies. I like my salt y'all! The shrimp was a bit over cooked or something because it was extremely hard to peel but wasn't rubbery. We got the large shrimp and the headless reds. To be honest with you I couldn't really tell a difference. If I did it over again I wouldn't waste the extra money on the reds. The dip was very good. It was loaded with flavor and clumps of crab just like it should be. It did not have any shells that we came across which is a big plus in my book. The peanut butter pie was very tasty. I highly recommend it! We are already planning to stop back in when we head back down for our next wrestling tournament. You really can not beat the price for seafood in the area.

Our waiter Holden promptly greeted us and brought us drinks. He gave us a few minutes to look over the menu and we finally decided on country fried steak. A gentleman came around with fried okra before our meals came out and it was delicious. This was our first time trying okra and it did not disappoint. Our meals came out pretty quickly and we sat waiting to have rolls "throwed" at us. My husband spotted the roll thrower, put up his hand, and had a roll "throwed" at him that he ended up partially catching with his hand and his chest. I was slow raising my hamd and had to wait for my roll. Surprisingly, I caught the roll. It was soft, but heavy. We then waited for the girl to come around with the apple butter and molasses. We each got a scoop of apple butter and proceeded to enjoy our rolls. We also had the fried potatoes with onions which was the best side second only to the rolls themselves. The sides with our entree - french fries, corn bread, peaches- were okay, but I could do without them. The mashed potatoes and gravy were a good pairing with the country fried steak. The real winners were the "throwed" rolls, friend potatoes with onions, and the okra. Holden was wonderful and attentive. He provided a box to take my leftovers, offered us togo drinks even though all we ordered was water, and went back and got me togo silverware so I could enjoy my leftovers in the car. I don't know if we would go out of our way to return, but it was a fun experience and we enjoyed most of what we ordered.
