Stopped in the Lego store the other day while I was shopping at a few stores around the mall. It…read morewas such a great experience! The employees were very friendly and welcoming. People and kids everywhere building, playing and buying those awesome bricks! From personal experience, I know that Lego prices are pretty steep and there aren't many sales/deals but I would recommend that serious Lego enthusiasts/buyers check out the free Lego VIP club where you earn points that quickly translate into $5 off coupons. My favorite part of this store was the Lego displays of finished sets that you can buy in stores and online. They had a really neat Disney castle, a large Ninjago City movie set/building, and a MASSIVE Millennium Falcon that currently retails for $799.99! Can you say sticker shock? ;)

If you or your kids love Lego you're familiar with the Lego stores and if you live in the DMV…read moreyou're lucky because you have a bunch in driving distance. But the pentagon city store is the best one. Outside of the typical displays and Lego sets for sale they have activities like a wheel you spin that lands on a picture of a monster to build and all the pieces for all the monsters are in the bin next to the wheel. Or build your own, Lego is all about creativity. The staff are super fun to talk to and you can tell they love their jobs. In addition, their pick a brick wall is the most thoughtfully procured I've ever seen. If the blizzard has you stuck inside going crazy with the kids, head over to the mall and between the Lego store the food court and just walking around you can put together a really easy fun day.

I usually prefer TJ Maxx over Marshalls, so it pains me a little to say this, but the TJ Maxx in…read morethe Pentagon City area has been pretty underwhelming compared to the nearby Marshalls. Since I now work in Arlington, I visit both stores often, hoping to score the kinds of finds TJ Maxx is usually known for. Unfortunately, I haven't had much luck at this location. I still pop in from time to time out of habit and optimism, but more often than not, I leave empty-handed. Selection & Finds: The selection here feels hit or miss, leaning more toward miss lately. There's a sign for a "luxury" section, which initially caught my attention, but the items there tend to lack the quality you'd expect from something labeled luxury. It feels more like a concept than a well-executed section, which is disappointing when you're hoping to discover standout pieces. Store Experience: One of the biggest challenges with this location is how messy it can be. Racks often feel overcrowded, and items are frequently out of place, which makes browsing feel more like a chore than a fun treasure hunt. Compared to the Marshalls nearby, this store feels noticeably less organized and harder to shop. Service: The associates have been fine overall, but the general store upkeep makes the experience feel a bit rushed and less enjoyable than it should be. Pricing: The prices here can be decent, and I know TJ Maxx is known for good deals, but lately I've noticed more items that feel overpriced for what they are. Sometimes the discounts don't feel as significant as expected, especially when the quality doesn't quite match the price point. It makes it a little harder to justify purchases, especially when I'm not finding standout items to begin with. Overall, I still love TJ Maxx as a brand, but this particular location hasn't lived up to the standard I'm used to. If you're shopping in the Pentagon City area, you may have better luck at the nearby Marshalls.

Useless employees/manager included. Went to return a Runway item that I bought at Georgetown Tjmaxx…read more(receipt included and item was purchased only a day earlier), but they would not return it if it was missing a red tag or purple tag. No clue what tag they want considering the previous store did not provide it. Went back to Georgetown store and no one questioned the tag. Nobody wants to work at this store or help, but just point fingers telling me the other store can check the cameras to "really see you purchased it there". Oh and all this for a $100 item.

Best believe when I tell you how I was both excited and nervous at the same time. My girlfriend has…read morebeen telling me about the classes that she takes, and she decided to book me one to join her. I have never cooked outside of my home and only for a handful of people, so this was an experience! We showed up around the start time, put on our aprons, and prepared to get to work. It was only four of us in the class, all working at one table... I can't decide whether I'm happy it was a more intimate experience or if I would have preferred more participants so I have less attention to myself since it was my first time... Either way it was an absolute blast. The theme of this class was Spanish date night, so we made this chickpea asparagus dish, cheese-stuffed piquillos, Serrano ham- wrapped cod, and almond empanadas. The instruction was clear, tips were given throughout, and overall I found it to be a very approachable experience. Huge shoutout to Penny for doing a fantastic job. Oh, did I mention I used some new kitchen tools and quite frankly had to buy them in the store immediately after?? So fun.

The melon wrapped in Proccuito (sp?) was delicious. Would have never put those flavors together. The clam pasta with cream/white wine sauce was also yummy. Downside the raspberry and fig galette was a little too sweet for me, but I learned how to make pie crust work. Also stand up eating at the end was not as fun as a sit down meal would have been l. I am actually surprised they don't have a sit down dining table set with all their extras in the center of the store, it would be great advertising! Overall, 4.5 stars.
