It only came to light when I reviewed my service report and noticed they were adding liquid chlorine and questioned why. The company wouldn't return calls so I called them. Joe the General Manager took ZERO responsibility and only blamed the technician, who Joe said was not very good and didn't know his job well. Additionally when I questioned the company on previous occasions as to why my spa was not being cleaned, they said it wasn't part of the contract. I've owned that pool for 12 years and EVERY pool company has always cleaned the spa when they cleaned the pool. Plus I never had a contract with company. Update: The owner of the company personally called me on this and took full ownership of the issue and apologized. The owner is a good guy and does care about his customers and the company. I am still not willing to go back to this company, but at least someone in a leadership position took ownership of the issue and apologized.

Some were large corporations and some smaller operations. Most estimates came in very close in price. To me price was not the number one factor, after reading reviews and talking to people in the industry, we chose to go with So Cal Custom Pools. I was very impressed with Jimi and how everything from start to finish was handled. Little things to me are important, like show up when you say you will, complete a job to the best of your ability. Jimi showed up every time when he said he would, the pool was completed on time and looks amazing. I would always know when someone was coming to the house, I received either a call of text prior to someone showing up. We started with demo, the demo crew removed all the old plaster, tile and cooping, when the crew was completed the yard was swept and cleaned after. Everything looked clean and the crew took pride in the work. Next we had the tile and coping installed. I did have 2 small change orders. I changed the water feature and had the tile guys do a little more work than was originally expected. This was the only increase to the pricing and everything else came out exactly as expected. Once the tile and coping were installed the pebble was installed. The crew showed up and completed this in the morning. As soon as the plaster was completed we started to fill the pool immediately. The pool looks great and I was very impressed with So Cal Custom Pools from start to finish. I would use them in the future. Thanks Jimi, the pool looks great.

After receiving 4 bids for pool & spa resurfacing & renovations, we chose Capstone. We resurfaced, re-tiled, reset the coping, split the drains, changed out the lights in both the pool & spa, & shallowed the deep end from 9ft to 5 1/2 ft, & created a longer bench in the deeper end of the pool. For the resurfacing we used Tropics Blue Mini Pebble, recommended by Shelby, our amazing Project Coordinator, & we love it! It actually looks a little different throughout the day depending on the amount of sunlight. The entire Capstone team is impressive! They make you feel like you are their only client. Travis came out to give us our estimate & was great at suggestions to help us reach our vision & stay within budget. Aubrey & Shelby were incredible at communication regarding scheduling, responding to the many questions we had about the details, & when any issues arose, communicating to the team. I spoke with a technician today and was not happy with the way he was 'coming across'. He was abrasive and unprofessional. He has never been to our house, nor has he ever inspected our pool/spa area. When I was asking questions concerning the coping and what it entails, he abruptly said unequivocally, that ALL the waterline tile would need to be replaced. My understanding was that, coping does not automatically mean all of the existing waterline tile MUST be replaced. There are situations where removing old coping damages the upper tile course, or where deterioration of the bond beam requires enough demolition hat replacing tile becomes sensible. But that's something a contractor should determine AFTER INSPECTING THE POOL, not treat it as an automatic rule for every coping job. A company that hasn't even seen the project and makes demands like these, is one that I would never hire to do a project for me.
