Here is why you hire Pool Scrubs: I got a call from my tenant on Tuesday letting me know that a hose was left in the pool while she was at work and it flooded the street below and the neighbors had to come over to shut off the main water valve. Whoops? The instant thought was that the pool company came over, cleaned the pool, filled the pool, and forgot to turn off the water... a rational thought, right? Well, yes, it is. The fact of the matter is that while rational, it's the furthest thing from the truth and Pool Scrubs has receipts! Yes, I do like to see the "we cleaned your pool today" email that comes with a picture attached but never did I think that it would be used to solve a mystery. You see, that picture that was timestamped showed exactly when Pool Scrubs (Justin) was there and that they were not the culprit that caused the great flood of 2024. It showed when they were there, that there was no hose in the pool, and that it was certainly someone else deserving of the blame. Thanks to you Justin and Christine for helping me to piece this all together... you do awesome biz for your customers! read more

In answer to Pool Scrubs review response- Eucalyptus "Grove"? Running the pump only 2-3 hours daily? Constant complaints about the new vacuum not cleaning the steps that you did not recommend? Air B&B hosting? Only 8 years of service, and Jeff last serviced our pool in 2017, eight years ago? Discontinued my service professionally? You must be thinking of another customer, because NONE of that applies to me. There's a SINGLE eucalyptus tree beyond my back fence owned by the neighbor, that's been there since long before I even bought the house, or hired Jeff - and has been majorly trimmed by its owner, most recently in October. The last time I only ran the pump 3 hours a day was shortly after Jeff started servicing the pool many years ago (during whose tenure it was always beautiful). Granted he asked me to increase it to 4 in the winter and 6 in the summer, which I did, but it was always beautiful the whole time. I assumed the length of time changes had to do with the chemical test results. I've been running the pump 8am-3:45 or 4:00, as my electric bill proves, ever since I was asked to increase it to 8 hours after Jeff stopped coming. Which you've verified many times. I don't understand your failure to believe it runs 7.75 hours daily year-round especially since you've verified it yourself many times. Most recently just a few months ago your tech actually unlocked (using the gates code), opened, and walked into my garage without my permission to check it (and while I was home! Why wouldnt he knock on my door?! What if my pets had been loose in there??!!! What if I had been fumigating? Tons of reasons that was FAR from okay. My caregiver thought he was a burglar.) Every single time you've checked it's been set to 7.75 or 8 hours. The clock time gets out of sync with the actual time due to power outages occasionally (hence 3:45 instead of 4:00-when rates shoot skyward) but it has been set to run at Least 7.75 hours ever since I was first asked to increase it to 8 hours. The new vacuum was literally the exact same model as the old one, which was in fact the one Jeff recommended and installed when he reopened the pool all those years ago and worked well the whole time he did the pool. I wish I had tried to repair it before getting the new one though, would've saved me $$. The repeated steps complaint was because they were always filthy, I really didn't care whether your guy or the vacuum cleaned them I just didn't like how they always had algae on them. Now I'm told that algae is why the plaster is so badly chipped on the stairs, so apparently it was a very valid complaint (that yes, I did make every few weeks, because it never got addressed). It obviously wasn't often enough to get anything done about it though. And I have never been an Air B&B Host. Where on earth would you get that idea? The condition of my pool would've been too embarrassing to rent out the house anyway, lol. You call the way you discontinued my service professional? After all these years with you, an hour after charging my account/leaving my place, (leaving algae on the steps and wall as usual, and refusing to clean my filter as you had previously agreed to during that visit) I got a text that my pool was "too difficult" for you to maintain and you wouldn't be back. Literally no notice at all, no instructions for me how to care for it nor notes about when things had last been done. I paid you timely every month without fail, even when you couldn't get my pool clean for months at a time and even the times you didn't show up, and emailed us pictures of other peoples pools as proof of service. Given that kind of customer loyalty, I think basic professionalism would've warranted giving notice (a month would've been nice, but at least two weeks) and maybe some notes to your [disabled] customer before stopping service. But apparently I have a much more demanding view of professionalism than you do. read more

Pool Scrubs - Pool & Hot Tub Service Near Me - La Mesa, California

Justin is fabulous. When we have a problem, he shows up the same day and takes care of the issue. He is always friendly. He is knowledgeable about the pool equipment. He is the best pool cleaner we have had in the past 30 years. Pool Scrubs is not the least expensive company, but worth the money. Thanks Justin read more

Outstanding service! Friendly, reliable, great job. Always available to answer questions. Top of the line service.

My husband and I have been with Pool Scrubs for more than 3 years. In the 20 years of owning a pool we have went through several pool companies which did not deliver prompt service or returned calls in the case of an emergency. Pool Scrubs handled our emergencies expediently. Their prices are very competitive and the quality surpasses the companies we contracted with in the past. I was really impressed when I received my first pool report and the email came with a picture notating services and that my pool was cleaned. No prior company had provided this unique piece of information with every visit. During non-business hours we would call and leave a message with Christine and to our surprise the call was returned ASAP. Excellent customer service. We highly recommend Pool Scrubs. read more

Pool Scrubs - Pool & Hot Tub Service Near Me - La Mesa, California

Great pool service, they offer bi-weekly. Called them for possibly a pump replacement as recommended by electricians & other pool company. Jeff the owner came out for a service call for a minimal fee & fixed issue within 10 minutes! Found a broken electrical wire to pump & found someone switched pump from 220 to 115, which tripped breaker & could've burned motor. Saved money, but that happens only when they are there to solve issue honestly read more

Jeff, the owner at Pool Scrubs, talks a BIG game. In his initial visit, he's friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly understands how to clean pools. Problem is that once he gets you to sign up for his monthly service, the "maintenance" is done by his son, who does not maintain the standards Jeff claims to care so much about. I've had problem after problem (4 year customer), which have now culminated with a BRAND NEW pool vacuum (highly recommended by Jeff and promising a $100 rebate to help with the cost, which was denied by the manufacturer) that quite literally isn't even vacuuming the pool. When I reached out to Jeff (Sunday morning) asking to please resolve it, he immediately started going off on me via text message, threatening that if I didn't like their service, I was welcome to go elsewhere. After repeated issues (somehow repairs magically have been required nearly every week...hmmmm). NIGHTMARE of a vendor, seriously spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. Jeff comes across as such a nice guy at first, and as time goes, it becomes clear that it's just salesmanship. Deeply disappointed. I'll attach a few pictures of the "excellent quality" you'll be receiving with these guys. read more

We have loved our service! Chris is great. Pool always maintained very well, no complaints!

Met my new pool guy today! What a pleasure Chris met the two rambunctious boxers who like to give the pool guys trouble with the nets as they skim the pool and Chris took it all in stride! He also was very loving and patient when meeting the fur kids for the first time. I had a lot of questions and Chris answered all of them! My wife & I purchased our first home & it had a pool. After several appts with multiple companies my wife & decide to move forward with Pool Scrubs. We were looking for a company with great communication, great work ethic, & the best fees. Pool Scrubs has out did themselves. Recently, my wife & I experienced a mudslide in our backyard which drained into the pool. Jeff & Christine's availability & response to my concerns are always on point. In closing, I've attached photos of the mud slide & th of my beautiful pool that Pool Scrubs has been doing a phenomenal job with maintaining. read more

Pool Scrubs is very reliable. I had issues with the pool unexpectedly, I quickly called them using the number left on service paper that they left the previous time and they called me back within 10 minutes. They also had text so I was able to take pictures of my issue. They were so nice and helpful and were able to come out for a service request that same day. When Jeff looked at the pool, he explained the problem and was very knowledgeable. He answered all our questions and really took the time to explain everything. He wasn't quick to fix the problem and charge us, but let us know to check if the home warranty would cover it before we asked Pool Scrubs to fix it. I would definitely recommend them! I'm glad that we kept their service from the previous home owner because it was a really smooth transition with the pool not being left neglected while the home was being sold. read more

Pool scrubs is the best! We tried about 3 different companies before we came across them and we're always disappointed. Jeff and his son Justin have been great. They always show up when they say they will and of something doesn't go right- they fix it at no cost. They have even shown up on a few occasions just to check on the pool and make sure it was ready for the weekend. If you tell Them you have a party or if it's before a holiday weekend- they take extra care of it to have it sparkly for your guests. Very reasonable costs for the services. Don't Mess with the other companies for a few dollars less.... You will regret it. Thanks pool scrubs! read more

Just a quick update to our 2015 review. Pool Scrubs is so on top of customer service! Jeff has kept our pool happy and sparkling for five years now, and his son Justin is just as committed to making sure all is right with our pool. A couple of weeks ago I saw that a wheel had come off our automatic cleaner. Justin took it in for repairs and while the shop works on it, he is keeping the pool lovely by vacuuming in addition to his usual scrubbing. Just so nice to know that Pool Scrubs has our back and that we don't have to sweat it when systems get wonky. Also, many thanks to Jeff and Justin for wearing PPE and observing proper distancing with the pandemic. Despite the space and the layers of protection, they still chat and laugh with their customers (albeit muffled), which is really nice to encounter during this time. If we could give SIX stars, we would... thanks for outstanding service! read more
