They made me pick a star- but zero stars is my rating. We bought a 27 ft round pool from Pool King on Lemay Ferry on 5/4/2024. They have contracted installer ---Mario Emanuel ---- install pools for them. He comes highly recommended by pool king. Installer did not hold up to pool kings terms and provide us an invoice or contract. When we first started talking about Pools as a family we got a quote written by Savannah at Pool King--- which included the liner pad and cove $219.99. We ask for them to write up the quote and purchase the materials on 5/4/2024. Pool liner pad or cover somehow didn't get added. We as new pool owners trusted we were in good hands and had everything we needed to begin our pool journey! We noticed the tracking looked off the day after installation and called Mario. It was midnight and pitch black when they finished installation on 5/18/2024. He said enjoy the pool and we will fix it at the end of season when I called him next day . I have text to prove communication. Our pool never got the cove installed or sand cove (we honestly as new pool owners didn't not even really understand what a cove was until we started getting the quotes for repair) and our pool is falling apart. It was not leveled correctly either. Our liner is showing through because cove was never placed. Pictures included. (First pictures where taken day after pool installed -last pictures are how it progressed after told everything was ok) We have gotten several quotes over $10,000 to fix installer and Pool Kings mistakes. They will have to take down our pool and start over. (They advised it's a safety risk and could break at any moment) We also had a deck installed and it will no longer line up with our pool with the new repairs. I have gone up to Pool King today 8/30/24. I talked with manager Joe Meyer. There was no urgency to have anything completed or resolved. He said I may get a call Tuesday because of the holiday weekend. Mario has ghosted us and not responded since to communication. Pool king is working with us but is insisting we use same installer that caused this mess. We have completely lost trust in this installer and don't feel comfortable with him. read more

Do not buy from Pool King. They act like they care when you go into purchase a pool. Joe promised to help us understand how everything works, and he told us he would come over and show us how to do everything. As first-time pool owner we believed him. In the end they only want the sale of the pool. The pool wasn't installed for a few months due to all the rain, so when I called to see about having someone come and walk through the chemicals, filter system and they told me to come into the store if I had any questions, or he could do it over the phone. Then had issues with the filter, called on a Sunday and was told someone would call me Monday. Never called back- on Wednesday we called and were told we are not a repair center; we are a retail shop. He told us to bring it in to be looked at- and we need to learn about the filter because there's a lot of work that needs to be done with it throughout the season. He made it clear he would be helpful in this process, instead was very rude, unprofessional, and really didn't care to help anyone understand how to take care of a pool- Only want to take your money as they don't have a list for pricing it's whatever he needs to make on that day. We got more help from You Tube then Pool King. Take your money elsewhere. read more

Would never recommend Pool King for anything after two years our pool was rotting out talk to them to bad so sad.Had to take the pool apart the whole pool was rotting from the inside out this pool is only 5 years old.Never again was told wasn't on them and that's it . I purchased a new pump last year; and then decided to purchase a filter and cartridge with base this year (start the year new). I put the system together and thought things were running fine (new high speed pump was tough to get used to). Recently, with the hot weather we had the water become cloudy. The South County location helped me get my chemicals up to speed and offered the idea that i might be getting air into my system and thus the filtration isn't working well. I basically deconstructed and reconstructed the connections with new o'ring grease and teflon. I felt like i did a good job, but still the cloudiness remained. Today, I received a call from John. He was incredible!! He reviewed photos of my entire system; asked a few questions, and then determined that I may have in fact fixed my air problem since the system was no longer belching when it was shut off. He also walked me through my current chemical levels and provided some ideas how to modify my regular schedule and quantities during the very hot days. Per his guidance, we will wait a few days to allow the filtration system to work and will monitor our chemical levels closely. He offered that I could call him then if things were not improved or resolved. Thank goodness for John! I thought I was going to have to bring the new pump/filter system into a store or completely drain the pool and start over. read more

I have used Pool King on Lemay Ferry for about 30 years. I have bought two above ground pools from them and installed by their contractors. i didn't care for the second contractor on how he installed it. It has been several years now and I can't remember why I didn't like him. The service and parts from Pool King has been amazing over the years. I can't thank their employees enough especially Scott for several years now. I was a single lady for many of those years. Pool king is garbage. Had a talk w/ the owner John repking, who claims everything on my hot tub breaking is my fault even though his so called repair man Wayne, who he claims is the best in the game, screamed no no turn it off when he was checking for problems. Said every pump was out and needed new ones, Told him to order the parts and it's been over a year, needless to say the hot tubs screwed. I own my own business as well, I'd never treat someone the way he treated my father who's a retired Leo, with terrible ptsd, bad back and shoulders from being hit by a car while working, among other injuries. The hot tub isn't a fun thing for him it's a necessity. So for 15k that's the service this terrible place gives to our veterans/first responders. I hope you feel great about yourself John repking. St. Louis worst business owner..... I'll never spend another dollar at that store nor will I let any friends/ family's or clients. So if you want to make this right repking, you can contact me.. I've spent well over 40k in your stores on pools hot tubs & accessories, I'm highly disappointed in the way you treat the ppl that support you.. the fact that all we asked at the end of the phone call was to come and unhook the Hot tub and take it away but like everything else, you say you're not responsible for that. So John what are you responsible for? Robbing people of there money???? Since according to you, everything I asked you for help with you aren't responsible for..... next step if it's not made right I'll sit outside your stores and let everyone know not to do business w/ you, since you don't back your products or employees that ruin products then blame the customer. Last year, the gf and I bought a house that happened to have a pool in the backyard. This is relevant information because I would never in a million years buy a pool on my own. But we had to have this house and sucked up the fact that we were going to be dumping money into a pool that we weren't sure we'd even use. Well thanks in part to Pool King, it hasn't been as bad as I had thought. The staff seems fairly knowledgable and I always have questions whenever I go on. Most chemicals and supplies are reasonably priced and available. They also have some program where if you spend $400, you get $25 or something back. I hope I don't get to that point during this summer, but so far it is looking like I will. So having a pool can be great, but it is pricey. Pool King makes it a bit less painful so I'm thankful for that. I do wish they were a bit closer to me, but I will continue to head out here until something better/closer comes along. read more

I bought my pool from Pool King this year after doing some research and visiting some other pool stores. Charlie helped me with the purchase of my pool. No hassle, no sales gimmicks. He was completely honest with me and very helpful in explaining all the details before purchasing my pool. There are a LOT of things you don't think/know about before buying a pool, and none of the other stores went over that with me. I bought my pool, and it was delivered and installed. Charlie even came out to my house and showed me how to vacuum the pool and make sure my filter was working properly. That was awesome. Now I am dealing with some funkiness with my pool. I went to day when a sample of my water and Scott took care of me. He didn't make me feel like an idiot. He thoroughly tested my water and told me what to do. I couldn't ask for more. Now I just have to let the chemicals do there magic. And if I have any problems they are more than happy to help. I was very pleased with the service I received today and everytime I have visited. Dont buy a pool or liner from Pool King on Lemay Ferry. They dont stand behind their installation contractors. We paid good money to have a new liner installed and they didnt install the new gaskets around the skimmer basket and they didnt even cut the hole for the vaccuum port so we could clean our pool. When asked about the mistakes, we were told it was our fault for the installers mistakes. I guess it was, because we chose Pool King. We wont make that mistake again!!!!!! Btw, a friend of ours just told us the manager got mad when she asked for a product they no longer carry. He said his job isnt to solve her problem quickly, but to keep her coming back for chemicals. We decided to have a pool installed for the Grand kids (mostly), and after talking to a lot of places, settled on Pool King. Scott answered all my questions, and informed me of many more aspects of owning, and maintaining a pool that I never would have thought of. The crew showed up right on time, and that afternoon we started filling the pool. Once we had it filled, Scott came out to the house checked everything over to make sure it was done right, showed me how to operate the pump, and how and when to add chemicals. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better place to do business with. We have been enjoying the pool now for a couple of months, and the grand kids are very happy. read more

Bought a replacement liner from pool king and paid them to install it. I was told 2 to 3 week wait for installation. It took over 6 weeks. The weather has not been a factor. If I new up front it would take that long I would of went some place else. When I called them after 4 weeks I found out that they did not even schedule me. Last time I go to this pool store. read more
