Being a first time pool owner you look at the reviews and expect knowledge and experience. We came to these people every day or every few days with water samples for over six weeks at the beginning of the summer, asking how to get our water clear and what we need to do and buying parts. After being told to 'just shock it everyday until it's clear' and spending HUNDREDS of dollars on chemicals that weren't fixing it, I went elsewhere and seemed advice and our pool was cleared in a day. Every single person in there will give you a different answer on 'what to do' or 'how to do it' or what you need. For experienced pool owners this is a great local family owned place and the people are very nice. But for new pool owners I suggest going elsewhere first. read more

I think if I could give them 0 stars I would. Let me just start by saying I'm not happy about the contractor they provided. For one he never showed up on the day he was supposed to put our pool in. After he called me 4 days before telling me I need to get sand delivered. Ok no biggie, the company arrived Tuesday morning with a dump truck full of sand. I texted him and told him sand had been delivered, no response. I get a text two days later, Thursday morning saying I'll be there in an hr. Hours go by still never showed. At this point the entire pool situation has me not wanting a pool. They tell us the pool would be in by a certain month, it's end of summer beginning of fall before we even got the call. I had to call throughout the summer like hey is our pool in? Like what's going on? Of course you get the well Covid and blah blah.. anyways the contractor text me saying he had an emergency and didn't show because of it. I'm like well a simple text would've been nice. I wasted half my day off waiting around. So I let him have a piece of my mind on how not showing up is super unprofessional but if there was an emergency I'm sorry about your emergency. Which I think honestly was a crock of BS! I said you either do the pool or not I'm finding someone else. He showed up finally two weeks later and honestly it might of been closer to a month. He got the pool up, looks great. He's starting to come back in my good graces. Go to fill pool up, we get around the 24hr mark for filling the pool and I notice a huge wetness on one side of the pool, and I'm like hmm maybe it's just saturated for other reasons. I call him like hey I have a ton of water around the pool. And the water level is dropping significantly! He said I'll come by and look at it, he said he didn't see a hole. Ok well there's one there somewhere. You're the professional I was thinking, like handle this situation. We just paid him 2k!!!!! Call the "warranty" for the liner, they say well if it's not in the seam of the liner chances are the installation ppl ripped your liner and we won't cover that. I call him left him voicemail no response for over a month. He said I'll come take a look, never came. The other thing that irked me the most was the day we picked up the pool, the lady was kinda rude then says "oh it's just you two" and both of us are women. I said and? Women can't move heavy things? Like another woman is telling this to us. I work in funeral home business as a women who does removals. I'm use to the sexism coming from men, but never a woman! I just shook my head at my wife and said women have become so soft. We do everything ourselves. It was two truck loads of heavy stuff. I do have to say the older gentleman in the back was super nice! He didn't doubt us one second we could get this pool loaded. Anyways I'll never ever do business with this company. I'm in real estate part time and I would never recommend clients, friends or family. Kinda disappointing this is a family owned business. Do better! And have competent contractors and workers. We have a pool sitting in our yard that we paid a lot of money for and we won't even be able to open it when the time comes. I'm so irate and ready to just tear the pool down and put it in their damn parking lot! read more

I would give them a zero if I could, they did a startup on chemicals and removed the cover. Turned the pump on and didn't even check the skimmer to see what was there. The skimmer basket was gone and not even working. The bottom drain was covered in leaves and the pump was pulling so hard it was sucking air. This was for my elderly mom, thanks for the great service. By the way when I tested the pool water there was no chlorine or startup chemicals in the pool water. read more

Due to the COVID 19 vírus my family decided to use our vacation budget to buy a pool instead of going on vacation this year. We called several companies all which had a long waiting list. Just pools did not and offered everything we needed to get the pool setup and running. We chose them for this reason. Day one 3 men showed up at my home and begun work in my yard. I came outside to introduce myself and was met with condescending remarks like "maybe ask your husband where he wants the pool" and "your husband would know about your drainage in the yard" being a woman I let this go as this can happen. Work started well, about 11 am I noticed work had stopped. I came outside to see what was going on, one man told me the other man had to go to the gas station and he would be back. The same man asked what I'd like them to do with the dirt they dug out to which I replied it doesn't matter to me I'd give him $100 to haul it off which he said ok. About 1 the other man returned with 4 people with him the 4 people he brought were friends and spouse of the other man working. They all shortly left along with one of the workers. At 4 everyone left without saying anything and the pool not being setup. Day 2 2 different men showed up and begun working telling me they had to redo the dig since it was not done right. This was taken care of and the pool got setup. I paid and they left. Next day I saw where the dirt was hauled which was in a clean water ditch next to my house to which Jefferson county public works came out and told us to have the company remove the dirt ASAP. They called just pools and I called as well which they received a professional reply and I did not. Meanwhile I found out that the man who came the first day and left with his friends got arrested and was not suppose to be at my house in the first place. I'm all fairness the company does not haul dirt and when I asked the man to haul the dirt he did say the company doesn't do that but he'd haul it for the $100. So just a warning if you need a pool quick this is what you may have to deal with. Super unprofessional company ran by an unprofessional woman. They built a pool for us that we could only use for two years before it started falling down (in-ground but on a slope with retaining wall). They made a up a lie that it was "due to mother nature," and therefore they would not fix it. Reputable pool contractors and county inspecdtors actually laughed out loud at them. I'm not laughing since I'm out $40,000 for just the pool part of my outdoor entertainment area centered around the pool. Repeated calls to get them to fix it were to no avail (they would not even return calls after all that money we spent!). We are now having to sue them (no fun that). Roy Just is a shyster and a thief. Too late for us, but for your sake, avoid them at all co$t (literally). They should be renamed "Just Poop " (and Bob, I noticed you were looking down, couldn't even look me in the eye when you had to honor the snake-oil-salesman's promises.) Just pool sold me a salt system for my above ground pool Maddona ( the owner) told me there's many benefits for a salt system And all I would have to do is caulk around my skimmer opening My first concern I asked her about being a tin pool would it rust?? She said no Then I asked would it void my warranty ?? She said no so 2 years later it caused over $5200.00 worth of damage Rusted most of the tin ...having to replace almost the whole pool and liner The warranty wasn't good so I couldn't get any monies from that When I went back to ask the owner about helping me with the cost or labor she simply said there's nothing we can do for you.. I was a patron there for over 15 years and was appalled by the way they treated me with the situation. read more

If you want your entire family to be overwhelmed with disappointment because the concrete for your pool caved in due to this company backfilling with DIRT instead of gravel, go ahead and buy a pool from this place. Wanted to charge an arm and a leg to fix the mistake they made in the first place too.... I think that's the worst part. They did a bad job, but wouldn't even take responsibility or help their paying customer fix the issues without wanting to charge over $12,000 to repair the pool they wrongly installed to begin with. read more

We had nothing but problems with the pool installed by Just Pools. First, Just Pools did not do all the work themselves, nor did they subcontract. They had us separately contract to a concrete company which poured the deck and another company for the fence. Just Pools directed us to these other companies because they have a tight business relationship with them. But when there were problems, they all just pointed fingers at each other. So this was a big lesson for us: only contract with a company which installs the entire package, not just a piece of it. At least then you know who to go to when you need them to make good on something. As for the pool itself, we had continuing problems also. The pump was under-powered, the liner floated continuously and drainage was poor. Complaints to Just Pools resulted in nothing but stonewalling. I strongly recommend against using these people. read more

Could not ask for nicer people to deal with. We bought a house with a very special pool an Roy has walked us through each step of getting it back into shape little by little each year. He even helped us get or pool light replaced when they did not sell it or installs the light. Last year they found and fix a line leak. Fair price and professional work. We have been working with Just Pools for years and are highly satisfied with their products and service.

We had a pool liner installed in the winter. When I opened my pool, it had 5 creases in the liner in the shallow end. They want to charge us to fix it and state the creases are caused by a wet winter. Not sure how that applies since I have an in-ground pool surrounded by a concrete deck. This seems to be a reoccurring theme with them, blame mother nature and dismiss their workmanship. They may be nice people, but I'd rather have mean people that stand behind their work! read more

My hot tub had been sitting dormant for a while and when I filled it I discovered that it was leaking. Just Pools came out to troubleshoot for me. Turns out it was not properly winterized while it was just sitting. The guys at Just Pools know their stuff. They did a complete diagnosis of needed parts and got right to work putting my hot tub back into service. These guys are very experienced and had me jumping for joy at how fast they made it happen. Just Pools put our pool in 8 years ago and we have been very happy with it. This year we replaced the liner and the experience was very good. The whole staff was so helpful from Shannon who helped me pick out the new liner and kept me informed on the schedule to her follow up cal making sure everything went well. James & Seth installed the liner and repaired our pool light. They were very informative and professional and our pool looks brand new again!! read more

We had been going to Just Pools for years to purchase our chemicals and other pool needs. A couple of years ago we went in to purchase a cartridge filter and Maddona (the owner) talked us into converting to a sand filter. It's much cheaper and easier she informed us. We purchased the sand filter and Just Pools installed it promptly. That's when the problems began. Within a week or two the sides of our fiberglass pool were stained. We returned to Just Pools and learned that we had heavy metals in our pool. Maddona said it was because of Mother Nature . . .we recently had "acid rain". We went with her story and bought the metal out chemicals. It worked great . . .for a few days. We returned and she said we didn't get all the metal out. We bought the metal out chemicals again, but the sides stained again. We finally went to another pool company and had the chemicals tested. Yes, we still had metal in our water. Bought the metal out chemicals again. This went on all summer long. Buying the metal out chemicals weekly became very expensive, not to mention we often could not swim in the pool. We finally thought that maybe we should change the sand. Low and behold the sand that Just Pools put in the filter was brown creek sand NOT the required silica sand. The sand is what was causing the metal in the pool. We returned to Just Pools and told them this and they denied everything, saying it was still caused by acid rain. If that is the case, why didn't any of our neighbors pools have this problem. Was the acid only over our house??? I will never return to Just Pools for any reason! Unfortunately, they are only a few miles from our home which means we have to drive much further to other pool places, but believe me, it is worth it. Long story short, don't believe anything they say. Especially when it comes to the good old "mother nature" story. read more
