We bought our $6000 mattress (yes, top of the line) and one of the most expensive bed frames (canopy bed), but first we asked if they would remove the existing furniture, mattress, and box spring. They said no to the furniture and box spring (unless we bought a box spring/must be an even swap, per the manager who was called over to confirm), but yes to the mattress. We discussed before agreeing to the purchase if this would be ok, decided we could dismantle the bed but the mattress would be impossible to discard, so we were fine with this arrangement. However, when the bed was delivered we were told they were not slotted to remove anything. I called to talk to the store, who said they would put in an order for removal; however, the moving people said because the mattress was too old, and they couldn't donate it to charity, they can't take it. I then called the salesperson directly, who said she'd call me back in 20 minutes. She did not call, now we have a California King mattress in the hallway and will have to pay for it to be removed. The people at the store are very nice and helpful with the sales. However, contacting Ashley after the sale to get details on delivery information or for any follow up questions about the order was almost impossible. The Ashley web chat representative was unhelpful and would not give me even the most simple information. She was unable to provide any information about my order and said it's not in the system at all. Follow up - Finally talked to a local person who was very helpful. Turns out the ashley.com website is a totally different company from the stores which are independently owned as franchises. Thus, the webchat person was correct that my order was not in the system. In my defense, I was asked at the outset of the chat if I made my purchase from a local store. I chose yes. At that time, I think it would have been helpful for the AI Bot to inform me that Ashley On Line has no info about in store purchases at its franchises. That would have saved me about 20 minutes of chatting back and forth with someone who could not give me any information - because she didn't have it. Ashley Furniture sells an inferior product and is having a very hard time rectifying the issue. I had 4 delivery attempts for furniture. Every time the furniture was flawed. Including the 2nd time, they sent back the EXACT loveseat I refused. The 4th loveseat we kept because we didn't want to deal with it anymore, now apparently we have to make a warranty claim. After receiving the dinner table at my home we decided the we preferred all chairs. We noticed all four of the items rocked back and forward. I contacted the store and I was told. We do not do any exchanges, you only have 72 hours to exchange the item, if the item is not damaged we cannot help you. Still patient. Now 6 Months later we were supposed to get delivery from 2-4. Removed our old furniture NO SHOW!!! Call...whoops another ten days. Told them that was unacceptable...and now we get to wait until Monday for a delivery time. Can't tell you the quality of the furniture because will probably never receive it because come Monday the cancel button will be pushed and we'll be in lawn chairs for awhile. Got a new couch in Feb.  Both arms squeaked loudly when you sat down or put pressure on them.  I called Ashley to find that their warranty dept was an outsourced company.  I was given the wrong number 2x.  Finally got through and started a claim.  They had me send pictures of the couch (strange process to try to identify the issue via pics) so they ordered parts to be sent to my house and scheduled a tech.  They give you a date, however can't tell you the time frame until 2 days prior.  The tech came and started working on the job to find they didn't send the right parts.  I was frustrated since I took the day off work and called to see if they could just do a replacement couch.  The rep put in the order and while I was on hold for 20 minutes she forgot to put herself on mute so I heard her kids, dog, sounds like she made herself a snack. Not sure what was going on but she said the replacement couch is on backorder and wouldn't arrive until April 2026.  Fine. Got a call later in the week saying the parts were on order so they would instead send the tech out for the 2nd time.  Frustrated, I agreed for the tech to come on a Saturday 1245-445.  While at work that morning, I got a text (oh all of their communication after the claim is processed if done via text) at 10:20 saying they would arrive at 10:42.  I replied that this was not the time frame I selected and could not get there until 1130.  They replied "the tech team can not be delayed".  Leaving no number, I texted back, asking what that meant and for a new time since I was at work.  Got a text with my new time 12-3.  The tech started working and 1.5 hours in I could tell he was frustrated. He said they only gave him 1 hour to complete the job and he wasn't even to the problem yet.  I asked him how he was supposed to get both arms done in 1 hour. He said, "Both arms?".  He had no idea they were both broken.  He said he had to go for the next job.  They texted me Sunday asking for pictures.  I laughed saying the couch is making noises...the pics look the same as the tech stapled the arm back together.  I contacted Ashley who sent me back to the warranty dept again.  The warranty dept refuses to approve a replacement couch and wants to schedule me for a 3rd appointment for the tech to come out.  Absolutely not!  I called a week later to find my ticket had been closed down with the tech noting "project completed, work has been done".  I'm now told I have to wait until May 12th to start a new claim.  I called Ashley Furniture West Co and they are not accepting any ownership even though I paid the delivery fee for a brand new couch that was delivered broken.  I love their loyalty not for their customer but standing behind their horrible, incompetent warranty company. read more

My wife and I went in last night and purchased a few things for our new house. The store has a wide selection and is nice and clean. Tim helped us and he was great, very laid back and helpful. The manager also brought us a tape measure while Tim was writing up our order and he was nice too. The financing process was quick and easy and we were able to finance our purchase with no money down and no interest. We opted to pick up our furniture from the local warehouse down the street and saved some money on delivery too. One of the pieces was out of stock until January (to be expected), but they had everything else we ordered available same day! We will definitely be back for more stuff. read more

Yesterday, my 81 year old father, who is a retired Vietnam veteran, and his 92 year old girlfriend returned two mattresses because obvious defects. They then wanted to replace those mattresses with new ones, but dad needed a more firm mattresses that cost $215 less. When we spoke to the store manager about getting the $215 refund, he said we could get it as a store credit, but could only be used for an item costing $215 AND requiring delivery. He insisted that was part of the store comfort policy. My wife explained to him that this is a warranty issue, not store comfort policy issue. The manager insisted that the policy would be followed. Ashley deserves zero stars. Bought our furniture on 1/19/23. We had to wait until 2/10/23 to get it. 2/10/23 arrives and we had a hauler here to get our old furniture out of the house and Ashley arrives. Driver claims our floors had animal feces and animal smell on it and that they could not deliver. The said feces were the bolts from my old sofa that the hauler was taking away that were on the rug. Our house does not smell. We have dogs so yes it might be some dog hair but our house is not filthy as claimed by Ashley's Delivery driver. He went and called his supervisor and claims he was told to cancel the delivery. Said only other option was to leave the furniture in our driveway for us to carry in. He never waited for an answer and just drove off. They left some of their tools here as well. I called the Ashley store and went full Karen on them and used some very bad language because their driver was unprofessional and beyond rude. At this point we had no furniture!! We were out $3.3 K. We are rehabbing this house so yes it is messy. Ashley Furniture then cancelled our order because your CS rep said it was because I cursed and Yes I did!!! You have 3300.00 of our hard earned money and we have nothing. When I asked for my debit card to be refunded 3.3 K that we spent I was told if she got the refund done before noon I would get it on Monday. Well Monday is banking holiday so I am doubting I will see my money any time soon. I called Bank of America and there is no refund pending in their system. Worst store ever! I wish I could give a No Star review. My friend bought a new couch. It took 3 months to get it. The day she recieved it. It was so awful! Like sitting on Cinder blocks. She immediately asked them to bring her old couch back and return this one. They told her to remove the stuffing and sit on it for 30 min. To break it in. Still dissatisfied. They called her back to let her know, she could have hers back the same day. After 2 hours and being scolded. She decided to try it until Friday. Which was 2 days. I went with her on Friday. That decision is on each individual Manager. I asked for the Corporate number. Instead I got the Manufacturer and then I called what I thought was Coroporate and got That Store Manager! I wasn't leaving the store after all that! He said the couch she wanted would take 2 days, getting her couch back, would also take 2 days, and a refund would take 3-5 days! He kept stating over and over. It's just two days. I said well, if it's going to take two days to retrieve it from the store, why, won't you sell her the floor model and you wait two days. For the new delivery?! No, response. My friend finally defeated paid for the second new couch. They had been long time respected customers! For literally over 2 decades. My dining room chair caused me to fall by tipping over as I got up. I have been waiting for service to come repair the chair for weeks. I am male 77 yrs old and I think I have a fractured hip from the fall. After 6 calls and numerous transfers and unbelievable hold times I got aggravated and said to the sales clerk, when I finally got someone from the store, maybe I should get a Attorney since I am hurt and you seem to not be able to help me....that was it. They will not talk to me at all, literally! The in store customer service needs much training especially the blond woman, Nasty Attitude even after I said I was not going to an attorney. All I want is the chair repaired. She said we cannot talk to you. They sent the parts several weeks ago and they are in my apartment. After 4 more calls, and I document everything, names, times and dates, I went to the store today. OMG the blond was like a viper. Would not help me because I said Attorney to the sales clerk previously in one of the 12 calls over the weeks. I mean would not help me at all even when I said I am not going to an Attorney, just repair the chair. Last purchase they will ever get from me and I will warn everyone. We were excited to get our new temperpedic mattress, base and frame and scheduled delivery. In fact we delayed the initial delivery until all the pieces were available for delivery, waiting 3 weeks. Delivery date was set and confirmed per their automated system. On delivery day the driver called and said they only had part of the furniture so they were delaying delivery until they speak with Ashley. The day ended and no delivery. Ashley has our $7700 but we have nothing to show for it. After finally speaking with someone we were told some of our pieces would not be available until early October. Let me start by saying, if there was a zero star option I would choose it! We bought a leather sectional that did not fit when delivery was attempted. My husband is meticulous & detailed oriented when it comes to large purchases & measurements. The 2 delivery guys said they could not get it through the door. Which is insane to me, b/c we were able to get a similar sized sectional out, as we took out our old sectional in preparation for the new one. So, the delivery was not completed. We go to Ashley Furniture to pick out a sectional to replace the one that was not delivered. We picked one with a separate corner piece, so we knew it would fit. It took a week for that one to be delivered, so we had no furniture for a week. The day it was delivered we noticed several tears/nicks in the leather, which we reported to Ashley Furniture first thing the next morning. They said the repair company would contact us. A few days go by and my husband receives an email asking which parts were damaged & for pictures of the parts. He described the damaged parts the best he could & sent pictures. A few days before the scheduled repair, we received 2 large bags delivered to our front door step. We were never notified about any deliveries & we were gone all day. Which means our replacement leather for our section sat out in the rain all day. Repair guy comes out & starts taking off the pieces, without ever looking at what was delivered. He realizes that the delivered pieces are not correct, so he very temporarily puts the part he took off back on & did not clean up any of the staples left behind. Which is not something you want lying around when you have a toddler & a puppy. My husband calls Ashley Furniture customer service, more parts were ordered & sent. In the meantime we went to the store to discuss all that has transpired & our dissatisfaction. We spoke to an assistant manager who seemed to be understanding of our frustrations & said he would speak to the store manager regarding an exchange of the exact same sectional. We were very pleased with this solution, as we have been trying to just get our new furniture in brand new condition for about a month at this point. We were told the store manager would call us the next day. Weeks go by & we never receive a call. At this point after hearing Ashley employees & the contracted furniture repair employees place blame on each other & try to pass us off on one another, we are at a loss. We get a repair guy out here today. He tells us that we still have the wrong piece of leather for one of the sides, but he can replace the side we do have. My husband asks about the arm piece being replaced &, although we have the right piece of leather, the repair guy refuses to do it, b/c it's not on his work order. So after showing up at 2:00 PM when the arrival time was scheduled for 9:00AM to 1:00PM, he was going to replace the back but not the arm. We are not at the point of my husband doing it himself. SO VERY DISAPPOINTED, ANGRY, & FRUSTRATED at this whole situation. We bought a sectional from the South County store last year. Furniture was supposed to be delivered in 3 weeks, it went approximately 3 months before we received the furniture. This company has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Contacting them by phone plan to spend at least an hour on hold before speaking with a representative. On the day the furniture was to be delivered, the delivery was scheduled for the afternoon. About 10:30 AM the delivery driver calls to say they will be there in 30 minutes. Luckily I was no too far from home so I rushed home to accept the delivery. Now the furniture is approximately 9 months old and it looks like it is 9 years old. The cushions are sagging terribly. This is our first experience with Ashley Home Store and it will be our last. read more

The South County store in St. Louis & overall customer service department is horrendous. It took longer to buy furniture than it did to sign for a home and once you have purchased the customer service becomes the worst I have ever experienced. Susie at the front desk goes out of her way to make things harder. They give false dates, set up delivery dates and then no show, leave you on hold for hours and hanging on for months to find your order all while speaking to you as if you did something wrong. Once they do find it, it will most likely be delivered damaged - only to start the horrific customer service experience all over again. read more

Against my better judgment I purchased from them again. We had an awful experience with them in late 2019/ early 2020. The delays were all blamed on Covid. I expressed my concerns when I went back into the Stl store on 11/16. The salesman assured me this had all improved. He showed me on the system the two recliners were in stock and set up delivery for 11/24. On 11/21 I received a call stating ONE of my recliners were in and the other was supposed to be arriving on 11/24. Delivery would call to set up a time on 11/25. Of course no call. I called the customer care line today and was on hold for 1 hour and 31 minutes before speaking to a representative. I'm now being told NEITHER chair is in stock and now expected 12/6. How do we go from both being in stock, to one and now none? Ashley continues the consumer games. They are very fast to take your money and then not deliver. I spoke to the salesman also today who was supposed to talk to the general manger and call me back. Again a broken promise. I have not received a call. When making a purchase a consumer should not have to chase the items. This is the exact same thing that happened in 2019. Ashley stop over promising and under delivering. Ordered a new couch onlin. It was supposed to arrive a couple days before we officially moved in. Paid a $90 premium to schedule a delivery. Two days before delivery, weeks after I ordered, they called to say it wasn't in stock and they'd have to order one, which could take weeks. UM why didn't you check if it was in stock when I ordered it instead of waiting just before you're supposed to load it up? Delivery team told me to take it up with customer support. After hours on hold, support told me to take it up with the delivery team. Which, again, is another hours hold. Pure incompetence on Ashley Furniture's behalf. Do NOT shop from here. There are plenty of other places you can buy furniture. Update: Couch FINALLY attempted deliver two weeks late. Movers tried to get in, told me "it wouldn't fit" and took it away. I assumed this meant the order was cancelled. NOPE, two days later, I'm charged and told delivery has been rescheduled for the following week. UM, pretty sure my doorway not going to get bigger by the next week. Tried to call support, three different numbers multiple times, no response. Always hung up on after being on hold. Online site won't load my order. Chat support never responds. Emails are never responded to. Literally, Ashley Furniture is the biggest hell I have ever had to deal with regarding customer service. I mean it, do NOT buy from here. Worst part is, after waiting on Ashley for a month, I still can't order a new couch from somewhere else because my order won't cancel and I don't know what the hell is happening with delivery next week. Ashley's dirt poor customer service and lack of any kind of communication should warn off all potential customers. Also, Ashley has now charged and refunded me FIVE times. Every few days, there's a new $600 charge, and then it cancels, and tries again. Beyond frustrated with the mere incompetence of this company. read more

I've been a customer of this South County store until recently. I made a store purchase in Aug. for a couch then bec. of the sales guy did not clarify I could not pick it up in few days and it'll take at least a month or maybe more to get it, so I cancelled the order the following day. Then I just found out that they charged me a 10% fee for just cancelling and order. I could understand if it's already produced and a re-stocking fee is justified. So they tried to steal $44 from me for nothing. I will not do anymore business with them after what they did!!!! read more

I purchased a dining room set on 9/05/21. The delivery was scheduled for 10/02/21. The delivery men informed me that were only 2 legs for the table in the box. He suggested that I keep the table set because the other 2 legs would be delivered within 7-10 days. NOPE! I have not received any legs or a reasonable response from Ashley Furniture. This is unacceptable! How can a table be delivered with only 2 legs and a customer wait 2 months without any response from Ashley Furniture! This is HORRIBLE customer service! I ordered furniture in June 2021. It is now May of 2022. Ashley can still not tell o when it will be delivered. They still have the furniture on their showroom floor today. Why are they selling people things they can not deliver a year later? They will tell you they can't be sure when something's coming in. I just want others to understand that it could mean a year. They have 4000.00 of mine and I have had nothing to show for it for this extended amount of time. read more
