Sectionals in one area vs other stores they are scattered around. We told one of the sales associates that we were just looking (because who wants someone hovering while you are shopping) and he stayed away. However, he kept an eye out on us in a good way because adverb we had a question, he quickly made himself available. Then he would give us our space again. That was amazing! It's good to read your potential buyers and not hover. The prices were decent with nice quality furniture. He gave us really good information and when we are ready to purchase, we will surely return here and connect with the same associate. Side note, they have a cute coffee and candy area.

We went to all the other furniture stores around the same area over a 3 day weekend. Salepeople were annoying and we couldn't quite find what we wanted. We ended up back at Bob's. The salesman that helped us the first day was great. He kept his distance, but was around to answer questions if we needed. He wasn't pushy or hovering. We we asked for him to help us, and we came back, bust he wasn't there yet. A manager came to speak with us about it. She was absolutely lovely and genuinely kind. They also have a complementary café area. With coffee , candy and ice cream. My kids were very excited about that. The only negative thing I have to say is that they said the furniture won't be here for two months That time to get rid of our old furniture and get the room ready. So it's really not that negative for us, but maybe for someone that needed in Furniture ASAP. We went during the memorial day sales, and I do believe we got a great deal.

I have already had a repairman out once in the first year, but the chair is having the same issue. It shifts as if something is not hooked together properly and shifts when you sit in it. I am not a large person - 5'4" 160 lbs - so I am sure I didn't break it. It's a BIG Recliner. But the mechanics are only covered for a year. If I spill something on it - they will help with that. But the workmanship on the chair is not covered! They want to charge $160 labor plus $14/hr after that. Total BS. The couch we purchased - the back of the couch is coming loose as the fabric is thick and the staples are not long enough to hold the back panel in place. Again - the workmanship is not covered! We are not hard on this furniture & no kids in the house to put on additional wear & tear. TOTAL MISTAKE TO BUY FROM La-Z-Boy! NOT WORTH THE PRICE!!!!

It's been a year and they have not yet repaired it even though they have assured us they would within a few months. We have called multiple people multiple times, emailed pictures to warehouses, and even been blown off TWICE for scheduled visits to our home. I've had to take time off of work for the same visits that have proved fruitless. I've called corporate. I've called the store. They've gotten photos and emails and nobody's ever reached back out to see what the issue is or how they can fix it. No updates. The one star is being generous.

Slumberland: Do Not Shop Here - Deceptive Sales, Zero Integrity…read moreOrder # 0525547WL93 I only ask two things of a retailer... 1) Don't lie to me and 2) Treat me with respect. My experience at Slumberland Furniture in Sunset Hills, Missouri was an infuriating example of bait-and-switch tactics and deliberate dishonesty. On May 25th, 2025, my wife and I walked into this newly opened store and spent over $3,000 on furniture--including an Ashley sofa, two Ashley chairs, and two Lazy Boy power recliners. We paid in full that evening and were explicitly promised that both recliners would be brand new, not floor models. On June 13th, weeks later, I called to check on the order. I was told the couch and chairs wouldn't arrive until late June, but the recliners would be available for pickup the following week. During that call, I asked again if we were receiving new recliners, not the showroom sample. The clerk's vague and deceptive response raised a red flag. I knew something was off. So on June 16th, I made an unannounced visit to the store around 12:35 p.m. I inspected the floor model recliner closely so I could recognize it later if needed, and then I took an extra step. I discreetly slipped a white envelope with my handwritten initials into the magazine pocket of the floor model recliner, my own personal lie detector. While I was there, I witnessed an all-too-coincidental interaction: A salesperson, we'll call him Richard, or Dick for brevity, was instructing another employee to remove that exact chair from the floor. Suspicion confirmed. The next day, June 17th, I received a message that my recliners were ready for pickup after 2 p.m. I arrived at 5:52 p.m. and Dick, the same salesperson I saw removing the floor model the day before, greeted me again. Dick asked me to drive around to the dock. When I pulled into the dock he stated that one chair was in a box and the other was wrapped in plastic. I immediately asked: "Is the one in plastic the floor model?" He responded by claiming that it was new but there was some "rigmarole" with the recliner. I asked again. Same lie. One more time, right before they loaded the second chair, again, he continued to lie. So, I ripped through the plastic wrapping, reached into the magazine pocket, and pulled out the envelope with my handwritten initials that I had placed the day before. It was the floor model. Dick lied to my face, three times. In total the store lied at least 5 times. Caught red-handed. Not a word of apology. No attempt to make it right. Just silence. No integrity. No accountability. No respect for the customer. This wasn't just sloppy service, it was intentional deception. Slumberland tried to pass off used furniture as new and hoped I wouldn't catch them. Slumberland Furniture at Sunset Hills Plaza cannot be trusted. They have no ethics, no customer respect, and no business representing a national brand. Do not give them your money. They do not deserve your business. The moral of the story? Don't be a Dick.

The delivery guys were also very nice, but took out a huge branch of my neighbors tree as they were backing down the street to deliver my furniture. They did push the branch out of the street (after I requested they not leave it in the middle of the street). However this left this large branch splayed over my neighbors front steps and the sidewalk. I called and spoke with Thomas Grogan (warehouse manager) and told him what was going on. I also sent pictures. He said he would leave early and come out and remove it. He did come out and broke down the branch and put it in his truck. He even knocked on my neighbor's door to apologize. I'm so thankful that this was taken care of and I think Thomas went way above and beyond! Kudos!!
