I've been trying to file a complaint about the terrible odor coming from our new couch, chair & ottoman we bought from Ashley Furniture. They did send a technician out and he told us it's usually from the factory and just needs to air out. Well it has not aired out. My husband has asthma and it affects his breathing and it burns my sinuses. I called customer service last week and someone was supposed to get back to me but haven't heard anything. We've bought furniture from here before and the service is always good. Friendly staff and helpful. You just have to let them know you want your space when looking and they respect it. Their selection is OK. We were searching for a soft and comfortable couch and just couldn't find one. Nothing came across a giving me a WOW factor when walking through their showroom. We spent a lot of time looking for a new couch and loveseat, and we selected pieces from the Signature Design collection with the "practically indestructible "Next Gen DuraPella" fabric. Do NOT buy the "Next Gen DuraPella" furniture....Ashley specifically markets it as "pet friendly, scratch resistant" fabric. We have had our furniture since mid-January, and the fabric is peeling like crazy. Ashley will not cover it under warranty because the peeling is due to "pet damage." WE HAVE A PET, WHICH IS EXACTLY THE REASON THAT WE BOUGHT THE NEXT GEN DURAPELLA FURNITURE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!! Save your money, and don't do business with this place. We even bought the "extended 5 year warranty" for an additional $500, only to find out that "pet damage is explicitly excluded". DON'T SHOP HERE, after merging with DSG, things have gone really downhill. Ordered a bed and bed frame. First delivery was damaged, second delivery (3 hours late to a 3 hour delivery window), screws were missing and the bed frame couldn't be assembled. Was told they would call me back.....they did not. I called and got their automated system which told me my order was closed. When I finally reached a live person, I was again told my order was closed. Look at the picture. It has not been setup and I don't have the hardware that should have come with it to assemble. I've called and spoken to a half dozen people now, with no results. I just now filed a BBB compliant, and am now making sure people know what incredibly bad customer service this new 'Ashley/DSG' arrangement is. I have never had such problems before DSG. I finally totally gave up on my dresser and just told them I was tired of being rescheduled for delivery (for the 3d time), so just wanted my money back and have yet to get a refund on it. Terrible, terrible customer service and delivery, not to even mention the crooked chair, couch cushions that won't stay in place, and horrible smell in my dining server! Also, could never get ahold of anyone when I tried to call the store or the Cutomer Care line---could only do an automated inquiry, which never took care of my questions. Only good thing about Ashley is their quality. Quality seems good but I also just got our bed. Let's rewind to when I purchased our bed. I quickly noticed on the same day of purchase when we got home that the bed order did not include bed slats for the mattress. I called customer support and they informed me that "the slats come with the footboard." Phew okay bullet dodged we are good. WRONG Two months later the bed gets delivered. Delivery guys who also are supposed to put it together tell me there are no slats and they cannot finish and to call customer support. So I do and they put in a ticket for me to get bed slats shipped to me about 3 weeks later or more. Well that wasn't good enough so I drove to the closest location and they happened to have an opened box of Kjng size slats available with no hardware. So I took the slats home only to realize we are missing another piece the delivery guys didn't mention... the middle support beam was missing to support the slats. So of course no one at customer support knows what I am talking about. They tell me they are going to call the location. I ordered from and ask what happened only for me to have to tell them that the Kirkwood location I ordered from is no longer open and in fact when they were open towards the end, their phones weren't working, and the phone calls were getting rerouted to another location due to the closure. Crazy that I had to tell Ashley furniture that their own store was closed and they would not be able to reach out to them. So I have now had a few customer service people tell me that the slats and the support beam are not a part of the footboard and I've had ones that I've told me that it is a part of the footboard and any combination of the two. No one can get their facts straight. My main priority at this point is finding the instruction manual which does not exist online online after googling it. After spending close to an hour on hold while a customer service rep tries to email me the instructions just for her to tell me that she is not able to and something is blocking. The email. All I want is the instructions to be able to confirm I am not missing any other pieces since no one can actually tell me what it is that I need Texting back-and-forth with one of the customer service reps and 45 minutes later after asking for the instructions, she send me the instructions for the wrong bed. After giving me only 15 minutes to respond, she then messages me back and says "due to not receiving any response, we are now closing this ticket." I called the store in Ballwin that I got the King slats from and they were also unable to help and told me to call customer service. Customer service told me to go into a store and talk to a sales rep. No one can get their facts straight and I was barely able to get held at this point. I have about six hours accumulated just from phone calls and an hour of being in store trying to fix this. Eventually, I get in a call with a customer service rep who starts to understand the issue and says that they will be delivering a middle Support beam that is now the only thing I'm missing (zero confirmation of this since I have not gotten the instructions to this day) I am now just one week away from getting that metal supporting hoping that this fixes all of our issues. Stay tuned for an update once I get the piece and if the delivery people actually install it for me like they are supposed to all awful value for the experience and how much of a pain this has been, I will never be going to Ashley again. Edit: Update Now two weeks later and I still have not gotten the right piece. Delivery guys came today and they were not equipped with the item I requested. We picked up our new sofa from the warehouse and it was fully wrapped in plastic and cardboard and plastic. When we got it home we found that there was a stain on the back of the sofa that was apparently there before it got packaged AND the sofa was the wrong color. We called the Ashley guest care team, but they told us that since we had taken delivery of the furniture that there was nothing that they could do. False Advertising and Poor Customer Service!! Ashley Homestores advertised a BOGO sales on Father's Day. We received the notification of this promotion via an email campaign. When attempting to order online, the BOGO pricing was not reflective despite selecting the exact piece of furniture listed in their ad. Initially the online assistant stated that they were not aware of a BOGO offer. Then the online assistant said there was not Promo Code and that the price could not be changed. We then called the Sales team at our local store who also stated that they were unaware of a BOGO promotion. The sales person checked and came back and indicated there were only a few chairs in their store that applied to the promo. We asked if could could let us know which ones so that we could look online and decide if we wanted to come in to purchase. The salesperson put us on hold for over 30 minutes before we finally decided to hang up. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! -- Would Strongly Caution Others This has been one of the most frustrating retail experiences I've ever had. We initially purchased a sectional couch from Ashley, but only part of it fit down our basement stairs. The chaise lounge didn't fit, so we had to deny that piece. The delivery team told us we could exchange it for different modular pieces, so we kept the rest. Later, when we called Ashley, they told us those pieces "don't exist" and that we should never listen to the delivery team. It took several calls and far too much effort just to get them to agree to pick up the remaining pieces. We then ordered a second couch -- which was to be delivered in two separate shipments. The ottomans arrived first, but they were the wrong color. We immediately asked the delivery team to take them back, as we knew from experience that refusing delivery is the only way to initiate a return. They refused, saying they had no room on the truck, but promised they'd be picked up when the rest of the couch arrived. When we later asked to cancel the remaining items, we were told we couldn't cancel the order -- we had to wait until it was delivered and then deny it. That policy makes no sense and caused even more frustration. On delivery day, we told the drivers not to bother unloading the rest of the couch because we were refusing it. We also told them to take the ottomans -- which customer service had assured us were scheduled for pickup -- and they refused. We are now stuck with furniture we don't want and have not received a refund for any of it. We've spent hours calling and visiting the store just trying to get a resolution. At this point, I will never shop at Ashley again and will be warning friends and family to avoid them as well. read more

Got a new couch in Feb.  Both arms squeaked loudly when you sat down or put pressure on them.  I called Ashley to find that their warranty dept was an outsourced company.  I was given the wrong number 2x.  Finally got through and started a claim.  They had me send pictures of the couch (strange process to try to identify the issue via pics) so they ordered parts to be sent to my house and scheduled a tech.  They give you a date, however can't tell you the time frame until 2 days prior.  The tech came and started working on the job to find they didn't send the right parts.  I was frustrated since I took the day off work and called to see if they could just do a replacement couch.  The rep put in the order and while I was on hold for 20 minutes she forgot to put herself on mute so I heard her kids, dog, sounds like she made herself a snack. Not sure what was going on but she said the replacement couch is on backorder and wouldn't arrive until April 2026.  Fine. Got a call later in the week saying the parts were on order so they would instead send the tech out for the 2nd time.  Frustrated, I agreed for the tech to come on a Saturday 1245-445.  While at work that morning, I got a text (oh all of their communication after the claim is processed if done via text) at 10:20 saying they would arrive at 10:42.  I replied that this was not the time frame I selected and could not get there until 1130.  They replied "the tech team can not be delayed".  Leaving no number, I texted back, asking what that meant and for a new time since I was at work.  Got a text with my new time 12-3.  The tech started working and 1.5 hours in I could tell he was frustrated. He said they only gave him 1 hour to complete the job and he wasn't even to the problem yet.  I asked him how he was supposed to get both arms done in 1 hour. He said, "Both arms?".  He had no idea they were both broken.  He said he had to go for the next job.  They texted me Sunday asking for pictures.  I laughed saying the couch is making noises...the pics look the same as the tech stapled the arm back together.  I contacted Ashley who sent me back to the warranty dept again.  The warranty dept refuses to approve a replacement couch and wants to schedule me for a 3rd appointment for the tech to come out.  Absolutely not!  I called a week later to find my ticket had been closed down with the tech noting "project completed, work has been done".  I'm now told I have to wait until May 12th to start a new claim.  I called Ashley Furniture West Co and they are not accepting any ownership even though I paid the delivery fee for a brand new couch that was delivered broken.  I love their loyalty not for their customer but standing behind their horrible, incompetent warranty compan read more

Absolutely worst possible experience. Ordered couch on July 5th for delivery on August 17th. Found out on August 16th the order was cancelled due to error at the store. Was never notified. Only found out because I inquired about delivery time. The charge went through, of course. Couch was reordered 16th for delivery on 22nd. Was notified on 20th it was available for me TO PICK UP at the wear house. You cannot talk to anyone on the phone to address the problems. I had to go back to the store to find out why Baily Marler (he claims to be the store manager) changed the order from delivery to pick up. He said he of course doesn't know how it happened but scheduled the couch for delivery this upcoming 28th- but he would try to move up delivery date and would contact me. I have never heard from ANYONE from Ashley- and the date has not been adjusted. Yes, we could have canceled the order and gone across the street to Bob's- but would have only gotten delivery a day or two sooner, and we had already decorated for the Ashley couch. They made 3 errors on this one order. Never once heard from anyone to apologize or compensate for all this horrible experience. There is no way to talk to anyone that can actually fix the problem. Yes, I can complain to my heart's content- but for what? No-one can get the couch delivered in a timely manner. Two weeks in new apartment with camping chairs. We received two end tables (T150-3) from the warehouse in St. Louis. The tables were supposed to be New In the Box (NIB). One table appeared that way, only to find out there was a side piece that was cracked (labeled E). The second table was obviously a return, with massive amounts of tape to close the box. When opened, it was evident this table had been previously assembled. The table was partially assembled with parts missing. Efforts to work with the Customer Service Department, so far, have been to no avail. In the past 9 days I have talked to 7 different people. Each time the call drops after 15 minutes or so. I have sent 15 pictures of the damage to 4 different email addresses, to find out that maybe 4 have been posted to my Service Ticket. BUYER BEWARE!! I bought a leather sofa that was damaged during delivery. They offered me 10% of the price of the sofa or to get it fixed. Since they ripped a hole in the leather I chose option 2. The delivery guys took pictures and they set up a date to get it fixed. They called me to see if I could move up the appointment so I took a second day off work to accommodate the earlier appointment. The technician didn't have the leather to repair it and asked me if I did. I guess they were supposed to Fed Ex it to me but no one told me. The technician told how bad Ashley sucked and he was just a contract employee and Ashley had screwed up a bunch of his jobs that week. He left. I talked to the customer service person who offered me a $50 non transferrable gift card to their store. They upped it to $75. My bed was supposed to be delivered today. After confirming yesterday that it would be, I received a voicemail today that the base somehow didn't make it onto the delivery truck. I have called the store 4 times to ask when it will be delivered, and each time the call has disconnected. I was extremely friendly on the calls, but I was assertive in wanting an answer to my question. It is so disrespectful to disconnect calls just because the customer service rep doesn't have a good answer. The sales associate, Carlos, was a delight to work with. While at the store it was ok, when they try to deliver the sectional they barely tried to take it into the apt and since they couldn't at the first intent they guy told someone on the phone "the couch would not fit, the customer needs to choose something different"... I was like "What?, could we try another door?", the dude said and I quote: "No, we can not. You need to pick something different". And then told the other dude: "To the truck!!". And they just left. Our buying experience was pretty good with Happy Happy - however, when our sofa finally arrived for delivery, the leather had very obviously been damaged in at least two different places and then patched and literally painted over. This was even acknowledged by our delivery contact. While irritating that we now have to wait an unknown amount of time for a new sofa to come in - it's really the shame on Ashley furniture for trying to pawn off a damaged/repaired couch as 'new'. They did offer $82 as compensation for our inconvenience (which will apparently be used on purchasing something to sit on until the sofa arrives) - we will not be using it at Ashley furniture. Pretty disappointing - will go back to Carol House next time we need to purchase furniture. read more

Spent over $7,000.00 at this store, bought an adjustable base mattress, dresser night stand and dinning room table and chairs. They delivered in a Saturday and brought everything in and the adjustable base was wrapped up in packing tape. Put it all together and the remote was missing. The warehouse told them they had to take base back and if they left it I would not get a new one or remote. I had to sleep on a mattress on the floor for a week. My husband and I went into the store on Labor Day and talked extensively to a sleep expert and a new salesperson. We brought in measurements because we have a platform bed and we needed a low-height mattress. Additionally, we have two horizontal-opening-storage drawers as a headboard. A high mattress would not allow us to open the storage area. After a long discussion with the sleep expert and sales person, we ordered a mattress, a frame (to raise and lower head and legs), a mattress pad, and two pillows. The cost was over $7200.00. I again requested someone come to our home and see the issues. I was told it was against policy. Two days later I was worrying that the mattress and new frame were not going to work so I brought in pictures of our platform bed and again requested someone visit our home, I was again denied. On September 16 the mattress and frame arrived earlier than scheduled and I was not home as I had intended to be. A friend let in the delivery men and what they set up was a mattress on the new frame that made it look like the mattress was floating 4 inches above the platform bed. I was upset as I had been told the new frame and mattress would work for our platform bed even though no one from the store would come out to assess the situation. We continued to work with sales people who repeated policy, "all sales final". We were very upset with the situation and I went to the national level with our situation. After weeks of discussion at the national level I was able to get a refund on the new frame and told I had 90 days to exchange the mattress for one that worked IF the new mattress was of equal or greater value. We went into the store and there was no mattress that was low height-wise to work for our king-sized bed frame. Now we have a $4200 mattress we do not want. We ordered a bed through Ashley, took almost 7 months to get to us. (Initially quoted 2 months) Would not let us cancel even though we needed one sooner. Arrived, missing parts, requested new parts said they would be here within 7-10 Business days, took over a month. Received some parts, but not the ones we need-now we wait for another month. All they tell you it is "the manufacturers fault", well don't sell things that are from a crappy manufacturer. Don't spend your money, Don't waste your time, 10000% not worth it. Ballwin store does not accept returns or offer an exchange policy. Ashley online and possible other local Ashley's do allow returns. I've purchased many pieces of furniture from Ashley and been happy with the items but our most recent purchase just did not fit our space. I called the next day to see what my options were for a return, fully expecting a restocking fee or exchange/store credit option only. Nothing, all sales are final. It was not an item on sale or clearance, just a firm policy that all sales are final. Many things were communicated to me from the salesperson, including the risk I took to decline the warranty protection, nothing verbally told to me about all sales being final. The paperwork does reflect this policy, but I did not take the time to read through everything (lesson learned). Customer service rep did tell me that I could have told the drivers to take the item back at the time of delivery, had I known this ahead of time I certainly would have asked them to wait to make sure the item worked for us. I will still purchase from Ashley, but not from the Ballwin location. I will order online since they allow returns and the pricing is better. read more

The is by far the worst company to deal with the warranty's are garbage. As well as furniture, I have been waiting for 5 months for my dresser to be repaired, after giving up on that because the people they use for repairs are garbage after waiting 2months. asked for a new one and yet still haven't received one after dates continually change when setting up. I bought a sectional couch a day there warranty company would not do anything for repairs or cleaning like the sales man said they would For the dresser I have waited almost 6 months with still nothing to show, I gave up on the couch. Ashley Furniture has now delivered me 3 damaged chests and a damaged dresser. Their customer service is out of Mexico. They refuse to give me my money back. All their furniture is junk. Do not waste your time with Ashley furniture. They will take your money and bring you damaged furniture and tell you they will send you another one. They won't refund you. read more
