Great locally owned furniture store with lightly worn, high quality household items. High end art, lamps, shelving, tables and chairs, couches and more! Prices on some things could be a little more competitive, but they do run regular sales. Friendly and knowledgeable staff make every trip in pleasant! We moved recently and everyone at The Refind Room was so amazing!! We have completely changed styles and had a lot of furniture and accessories to sell. They came to our house and went over everything they wanted to consign for us. Our movers brought a lot to the store. We had to put some things in storage, and after the move we met at my storage and they took more items to the store. We needed to keep some items with us at the new house until they were replaced. Today they came to my new house and picked up everything else. They have the items priced fairly and it always stays 50/50 for how much we get when they sell. They don't change the percentage secretly like some other consignment stores. Sean and the whole team are top notch! They know furniture brands, and what they are worth!! I had perused their website before visiting the store. A few items online intrigued. As with used items, condition is everything so we made a trip to visit the store. The store is arranged nicely with a variety of furniture, furnishings, art, rugs, and lots of interesting pieces. I asked about the one item I saw online. After some investigation, she says the item is sold. As I write my review, that item is still on their website for sale. So I asked about the second item. She checks in back and says I have to make an appointment to see it. Ooookaayyy. Not sure if they are lazy or snooty or they misrepresent their inventory but they sure lost my business. If I was looking to consign something, they don't seem to be trying very hard to make a sale. I'm giving them 2 stars for having some interesting items on the floor that aren't the run of the mill cookie cutter furnishings. read more

I stumbled across this store while looking for another store, but decided to stop in anyway. I'm so glad I did! What an awesome place! It's one large room, but the layout is visually appealing. The shop is organized into small living room sized sections, each with its own theme and style. I'm guessing there would be something for everyone here because there are many different pieces of furniture and decor with varied styles. Service: 5 The owner, Suzanne, was very friendly without being pushy or overbearing. I was looking at some mirrors and mentioned that I have a large empty wall that I wanted to decorate. She offered some very helpful suggestions! Quality & Selection: 5 Dining room tables and chairs, couches, desks, rugs, chandeliers, wall hangings, end tables, you name it, they've got it! There was even this huge amazing French armoire made out of gorgeous dark wood that I wanted to take home (sadly, not enough space or money for that haha). There is no junk here. Some things are vintage and some things are not, but pretty much everything I looked at was high quality and was priced accordingly (see below). Price: 4.5 You get what you pay for. The prices didn't seem to be exorbitant, rather, they reflected the craftsmanship of the pieces. If you're on a tight budget, I think you'd be better off hitting up a thrift store or antique mall. However, if you don't like that kind of shopping, the Refind Room is great because all the work of finding "the good stuff" is already done for you. read more

In mid December, we were closing on the sale of our 6,400 sq foot home in the Central West End, and contracted with Shawn of the Refind Room to do the estate sale. He estimated that our furniture, etc would yield $15,-25,000 and we scheduled the event for early Dec. We noticed in Nov, that the promised promotion online and in his store was not happening, but we were too busy to worry about it. Then 10 days before the sale date, after spending only 3 hours working at the house, Shawn informed us that the weather was going to be too snowy and cold to have a successful weekend turn out..what??? He said he was going to do us a favor and move everything to his store and warehouse to sell "on consignment". He would "share" the cost of the move with us ($700), and by the way, we needed to decide immediately!! We were completely taken aback. Never had we seen such a bait and switch manuever. He had us in a completely vulnerable position...exhausted after months of moving and, now, no one to do the sale and promised final clean out, unless we just ignored his gross lack of integrity and went along with the new plan. As difficult as it was, we told him to hit the road, and simply donated, sold and gave away everything in a total and complete whirlwind of stress and activity. And for the record, it was a beautiful weekend and our neighbors a block away had a tremendous estate sale! I gave The Refind Room a "1" rating, only because a negative number was not an option. read more

Eh. This place is ok. They shop at other places i do, to add to their show room. If you're an avid antique buyer in this town, you don't want to see things in a shop you saw days earlier half the price in another shop. They have a lot of new, reproduction, and crappy pieces. Some things they price as if to make the Un knowing think they are genuine or of greater value. Staff, well, that's not worth a star to me. The owner seems better than everyone and his wife has a real bitchy attitude. The dogs that greet you upon entering are the best staff members they have. I did purchase a mirror last time i was in, but when i heard the wife speak to an elderly customer the way she did, i walked out never to return. People shouldn't think they are too big for customer service, especially such a small businesses as they are. They seem to think they are the best or only shop in town. Remember, seldom of what you see is original, seldom is high quality, and most was purchased at Miriam or other Venus in town....visit those places first and this last, if ever at all read more

I called this business looking for a sofa sleeper. The owner informed me that they had a Blu Dot sofa sleeper in stock and that it was $1,200.00. I asked if it was a traditional or modern style sofa, and the owner said she did not know because she had never pulled it out. I informed her that I would come by to check it out. I arrived within the hour. She was helping another customer when I arrived and I kindly waited. When she asked if she could help me, I informed her that I was the one who had called about the sleeper sofa, to which the owner said, "Oh, here it is." I walked over to begin examining it and in less than a minute, I turned around to ask a question and she had disappeared. I waited, and discovered that the owner is now talking to the previous customer. When the owner noticed me standing there, she asks if I have any questions. I state that I'd like to pull the sofa out to see the sleeper. She states, "Oh, I can't do that." Well, how am I to examine if if I can't pull it out? She goes into a mantra of, "This furniture would have to be moved, there's not enough room to even let it out. No one has asked in five years to see it..." I ask why she had not let me know over the phone that I would not be able to see it. She just kept repeating the same excuses that didn't make sense and saying that she was sorry....For what it's worth, I have never written a negative online review. But this bizarre experience was too much! read more

I really like this shop! Im soo glad I stopped in. As you walk around you will notice all the furniture pieces are set up in separate displays as you would see in homes . That is great for ideas! I purchased a couple of matching heavy candle holders & There's a couple other items I will go back for . However I'm sure things change out quite quickly so I better make it back asap. After moving to St. Louis with no furniture, I was on the hunt to find good quality pieces that weren't ridiculously expensive. I stumbled upon The Refind Room in my research. The service was great and the staff was very knowledgeable. There were a few things that I was eyeing here but I wanted to check out other antique shops first before deciding. The Refind Room really stood apart from other shops we had been to in the city. They were reasonably priced and had a very helpful staff. My boyfriend and I came back a second time to purchase the coach I've been eyeing. It was during the winter so they had a nice spiced wine to sample while we were shopping. The owner Suzanne is very rude and uppity. She came to look at my furniture, told me they'd definitely be making an offer on everything, and that I'd have the offer that day or the next day at the latest. The following Monday when I still hadn't received anything she said I'd have it end of that day. Again, nothing. I called and tried speaking to her. The store would not give me her phone number and said she was out of town. By the next day she emailed me saying that she no longer would be making an offer since her not being able to meet a deadline was 'giving me anxiety.' Excuse me?! I didn't give any deadlines- she kept giving them and failing. Communicating with customers is part of business and I certainly would never do business with this store! read more

Whenever I am in the St. Louis are I stop in at the Refind Room. Since I live in MA, I am usually not going to buy, but they just have such an eclectic mix of items that I just like checking everything out. I have bought some small items...that would fit into my luggage. All the people there are a lot of fun and very knowledgeable. One of the attractions are the dogs.
