My husband and I went for lunch on 12/30/2021 my husband had ordered a bowl of chicken soup and a chicken tropichop y ordered a large order of fry yuca with cilantro sauce and an order of tostones with pork to dine in but they packed everything to go. When we got to the table I noticed that the cilantro sauce for the fry yuca was missing then my husband went to ask for the cilantro sauce and it was denied the employee started questioning him about his purchased to what she responded that she wasn't allowed to give him a sauce. I can't understand why, They also had 2 signs on the wall that said that due to a shortage of sauce plastic containers they weren't giving extra sauces but we never got any at all??! We ordered three kids meals (chicken strips and fries), 1/2 chicken with side salad. I should have checked because after me and the 3 kids drove home, settled in, we opened the kids meals and to my surprise there were three tiny burnt chicken strips and a roll in eaCh box, no frIes. I drove back returned the meals then came all thhe way back home to eat my 1/2 chicken and it was the worse chicken I'd ever eaten. It was so dry and hard it was unbearable. I just don't understand why these people just absolutely failed miserably at doing their jobs. I came in for my online order and they said they didn't even start it and it would be 40+ minutes until they finished it. I'm embarrassed to see how these failures even have jobs, they just sit around absorbing money and do no work at all. Before Pollo Tropical became a franchise, we remember how all their food selections where always fresh and delicious. Their chicken was always flavorful and moist and their sides were always perfect. Throughout the years Pollo Tropical has gone downhill. They lack consistency on their food flavor and their customer skills toward the public is just awful as their food. This location is by far their worst one. The manager is rude and their food it's terrible. We have tried many times to give them a chance thinking people have off days but every time we have eaten their food either it's old and inedible (chicken overcooked and dry) or the food has made us sick. Don't waste your time going to this location at night . It's hard to understand that a place that mainly sells chicken has no chicken . The manager (JEFF) said it was slow do to the rain and that's why there wasn't any chicken left . I would like to think if it's slow then there would be more than enough chicken available . I thought the point of a drive-thru is good food made in a timely fashion, but apparently not at this location. I sat in the drive-thru line for (no exaggeration) 25-30 minutes. I was very excited that I found a location close to my home, and now I feel like all I did was waste my money. I got an attitude when I asked the girl for more sauce, I waited forever, and the food was stale. The rice was either over cooked or old. It tasted like cardboard. The sauces are a must try: curry sauce and spicy pollo pollo! Cleanliness was up to par. Very busy location. Drive- thru is hectic. I would recommend dining in. Terrible experience. They didn't have any sandwiches available on the menu and the ice was completely out. When I went to the counter and asked for ice the woman ignored me and walked away. I went to this Pollo Tropical on 12/23/2017. It was a total disaster. I ordered a Chicken Sandwich & asked to make the chicken burnt & bread darkly toasted. I waited 15M & noticed the restaurant was dreadfully sloppy. Nearly all the tables were dirty & looked liked they needed to be wiped down. The place to fill your cup with soda had garbage thrown all around it & the fixings bar also needed a complete whip down. When I finally got my meal, the bread was not toasted at all & the chicken was soft & mushy. The worst part was I was the only customers there! I immediately asked for my $$ back or for all new sandwich. They fixed me a new sandwich that was a small improvement, but all I wanted was leave, so I ate my ill faded dinner & dashed out the door. I wanted to mention the next shift of worked were just sitting around the restaurant & looked extremely depressed. I understand the pay is minimal, they take the bus, & want to rest before shift, but it would be a better look to relax in the back. Seeing 5 worked sit at a customer table & look sad is a bad play.
