I've driven by Mad Chicken many times heading to and from the beach, finally I decided to treat myself. This location has been many things over the years, most recently a Thai restaurant. There is plenty of parking. I was the only customer when I visited early on a Sunday afternoon. The interior was very clean and bright. There were signs sharing their story and about their food. They use real, natural ingredients. I ordered the Chicken deluxe sandwich, which was two tenders with lettuce, tomato and onions. The bun was fresh and soft. I normally don't care for fried tenders but I really enjoyed my sandwich. The employee asked if I wanted some of their sauce and I opted for the spicy variety. The sauce was so good, I dipped my waffle fries in it. I thought my combo meal was a real value at $14. My meal was ready quickly. Their menu includes sandwiches, bowls, tenders and wings. Although this building has been a lot of different restaurants over the years, I was excited to see something new here. I think the last time we visited, it was a Thai restaurant. I wasn't familiar with the Mad Chicken chain before we stopped by but read a little about it at the restaurant. It's nice to know they have a family history and pride themselves on using "real" food. This restaurant is not a fast food one, but a fast casual. All meals are cooked fresh to order -- which is nice to know. So, expect a short wait for your food. We stopped by for lunch. They haven't been open very long, but they seemed to have everything down pat. We got a nice welcome. And later on, we were checked on to make sure everything was good and that we liked our food. I ordered their 6-piece boneless wings with honey mustard sauce. The chicken nugget like pieces were good, but I think next time I would order the traditional wings or their tenders. My husband ordered one of the bowls --- a mad fries one with waffle fries, chicken tenders, and shredded cheese. For a sauce (they have 14 different ones), he chose the hot honey garlic. The sauce wasn't that spicy, so I was able to try some of his meal, as well. The waffle fries were wonderful as was their white meat chicken tenders. For the size of the portion and the money, this was an excellent lunch choice. Every table was full inside when we dined there. They were also doing a bit of takeout. In addition to what we ordered, they also have a half dozen different sandwiches. And if you don't want/like fried you can get grilled chicken. There are also wraps, salads, a chicken biscuit or chicken & waffle. Since it was founded in Wisconsin, I guess that is the origin of having cheese curds as one of the six side options. Second time I went to this place and I have to say I was pleasantly. Surprise and well worth going back to. The one thing I have to say is that it is real chicken. No steroids and antibiotics added. Just like eating a basket of crawfish you gotta get at least a 10 piece combo. Small but tasty and the sauces you can't forget. To be honest with you, the waffle fries is not a big deal. Finally got to try Mad Chicken and after seeing reviews maybe I got my hopes up a little high. We ordered delivery of the chicken tenders and waffle fries. I will say they both arrived hot and not soggy which impressed me their packaging for delivery is defintely thought out which I appreciate. The chicken tenders were a really decent size for the four count. They were defintely still crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside which I do look for in a tender, but the breading was unexpected I can't put my finger on exactly what the breading is but it's not what you'd usually find (they reminded me of an Italian seasoned breadcrumb?). I'm not saying these are bad tenders but after seeing other reviews comparing to other chicken locations I was expecting a lot. The waffle fries were crispy and maybe a little well done for my liking (they were kinda dry tasting?). Overall they were good and the quality was there for the chicken just a bit different than what I would expect from a fast casual spot.
