Based on my visit 7/25/25 I am shocked at all the other bad reviews. The chicken was perfectly grilled, my tropichop bowl was made perfectly, sweet plantains are good and the strawberry lemonade is also delicious. It was pricey- around $18 for it all but I was pleasantly surprised and they had me in and out of the drive thru in not even 5 minutes. Will be back to this location for sure. read more

I wa looking for a quick bite to eat on the way back to the hotel and thought this place sounded festive. This review will be noticeably shorter than most I do. While I enjoyed the flavor of the food I couldn't get over how dry the chicken was. Perhaps this is just the way it's supposed to be but when I was speaking toa local the next day, all I had to say was "dry chicken" and he knew exactly where I had eaten. Driving by Pollo Tropical, I tell my sister in law this place rocks! That's all my brother in law had to hear as we swung into the lot. Now it turns into a suck fest. I see at least three workers sitting and enjoying lunch. It's 2pm after the lunch crowd, no big deal. There are people in the back cutting up whole chickens and prepping meals. Where's the cashier? We waited almost 5 minutes before someone came to the register? We place our order and everyone agrees, the food is good. I go to throw out the trash and it's overflowing? I go to wash my hands in the bathroom and it's a mess?? When I walk out, I see everyone sitting around. I said to the group, who's the manager? A guy raises his hand and I tell him the garbage is overflowing, the bathroom needs to be cleaned and no one was at the register when we walked in. He didn't apologize, he said he'll have someone empty the trash. If this was my franchise and had these clowns sitting around lounging?? I'd be pretty pissed. English- minimal; Staff- friendly I go to pay and it's at that moment looking down at the credit card machine when you notice the line of ants that has infested the entire area around the cash register. This is the worst restaurant in Naples if you can even call it a restaurant ! I've been here five times and every time it's worse than the time before. Unbelievable! The nastiest nastiest people work there, who think the customers are inconvenience and I can't even bother to try to speak one word of English. I always walk out hungry and never can even get a piece of chicken at this rotten establishment ! So I just went to chipotle and had a fantastic meal ! This was my first visit to this place and maybe the last. I ordered the 1/2 grilled chicken with 2 sides. They never asked me what kind of rice I wanted. So I got the white rice by default. The dining room has been closed for months and online orders have to wait in the drive through line. It is totally stupid.

Visiting the area with my family and was told to try this place out. Drove over and parked. Went inside and saw 3 workers just hanging out in a booth. What ever maybe they were on break. My wife and I along with our 3 year old stood at the counter looking at the menus for a few moments when one of the workers in the booth come over to us and said "drive thru only". Surprised we walked back to the car and I looked around and did not see anything indicating the dining room was closed. Now I got a hungry 3 year old losing his mind cause he doesn't understand what's going on. So ticked off at this point and just went to sonic next door. (But many small signs say "no tipping allowed"... not bad at all) My chicken tropichop was delicious-- the grilled chicken may taste typical, but add the side dishes in... wow! Although there's a slight greasiness to the chicken, you really feel like you're eating healthy-- whether you actually are is another question. In South Florida, this is a common chain. You can compare it to a Boston Market but for Cuban Chicken and sides, yummy. there's a lot of different options here. I don't think the options are as unhealthy as other fast food places. There are a lot of healthy options, and the prices are pretty good. I got excited when I saw this place. They have an outside area so you can bring your dog if you would like. We had the trio combo with chicken, mojo pork, and bbq guava ribs with corn soufle yum, and yellow rice. The one thing that stinks is that sweet plaintains are not part of the sides so that was extra. That's probably one of the most popular yummy items so that is why. They have different sauces and salsas for your choosing if you like. read more

The chicken was extremely dry, the black beans were very watery and what's worse is the sweet plantains which were burnt to a crisp. How do you serve food of such low quality to your customers? WHY AREN'T THERE MORE POLLO TROPICALS?? Delicious, healthy fast food. The yuca with garlic sauce, the grilled chicken and shrimp, the mango or strawberry blended smoothies.... DELICIOUS! It's the best of all worlds: fast, moderately priced, flavorful, healthy and tasty. Update: Since the remodel portions are HALF the size they used to be and the rice and black beans have no flavor. I ordered a side of chicken wings and they must have been taken from the tiniest pygmy/midget chickens they could find. They were the size of my pinky! I used to go to the GG city restaurant once in a while since it was close to work. Staff seem fast here. Pretty good meal for lunch. I had pulled pork with beans rice, bread with just a hint of coconut oil taste, and a drink. For around 7 bucks. Service during lunch was pretty fast. I had the fuego sauce, very tame glad they had a little lime otherwise I'd have to say it was very bland compared to home style Cuban meals even the onion was bland dry and stringy, I spit it out into a napkin. Pack a light jacket if you dine inside it may be too cool. I ate outside to get out of the cold. The others had the chicken quesadilla and BBQ ribs tips. No big complaints, just so so. It's not really Mexican food, it's Latin/Caribbean food. But it is delicious and I wish we had enough folks to support a chain like this in this region. I had the chicken soup and the black beans and white rice. Both were very good (for not being my Grandmother's cooking). Dining companion had the shredded pork with yellow rice. She thought the pork was greasy. I had a bite that tasted just fine to me. Their claim to fame is supposedly the grilled chicken, but since I feel like I can get that anywhere, I didn't try it. My mom loves this place, so you'll find me here often on the weekends. The tropichop bowls are very reasonably priced. A filling meal for around $7. You can pile on all the toppings for no extra charge. I get mine with half salad/half brown rice and grilled chicken. It's actually decently healthy compared to other fast food options. I love their sauce bar. The curry mustard is delicious! The staff is always friendly and they bring the food out to your table. I would stay away from the chicken wings. They're really really tiny! My sisters love getting mashed potatoes on everything... It looks disgusting, but I have to admit it is rather tasty.
