Went to Havana Libre and it was good. The atmosphere is lively and enjoyable, a great spot to go out and have a solid meal. The food was flavorful and well prepared. Not quite "my Cuban kitchen" level, but still very good and satisfying. That said, you can tell there's care in how everything is made. Service was smooth and attentive without being too much. Ordered pickup from this place on the weekend, everyone ordered steak and it was so good we decided to dine in. They must have happy hour specials because when we got there around 6pm the bar was poppin. Hubs and I were sat quickly at a booth and were able to put in our order quickly. We started with the queso frito and guava, y me encantó! So yummy! It wasn't too busy but the music was playing and I had no complaints. He wanted to try a more traditional Cuban dish so he ordered the vaca frita. I noticed they have a mini Peruvian menu so I went with lomo saltado a lo pobre. First and foremost, the service was great. Doors were opened for us on the way out, and several staff members including the bartender wished us a good night. No complaints there. Ambiance was comfortable and cute; nice little outdoor bar with seating space al fresco and it was all very clean. That being said... let's address the real issue: the food! Now, full disclosure: I'm Cuban. My family owned multiple excellent Cuban restaurants in Miami, so yes ; I'm a food snob and I know what good Cuban food is supposed to taste like. Add to that the fact that my fiancé is Italian and his family also owned successful Italian restaurants, and well... we're a tough crowd to please the taste buds. The upside? When we're impressed, we mean it. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of those times Enough about our background; we are here to talk about the food. The Cuban food here is "meh" Which is honestly sad, because we were really hoping to find a little hidden gem nearby . We started the night with complimentary stale, Cuban bread. That should have been our sign to walk out but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt since it was around 7:30 pm ( still not an excuse for stale bread but we really wanted to make it work for us) after looking back; the restaurant closes at around 10 pm so definitely no excuse for stale bread!! My fiancé ordered the breaded steak, and I'll give credit where it's due that was actually very good. The moro rice was okay. But the yuca con mojo? Swimming in cooking oil (and no, not olive oil), topped with red onions. No garlic. No olive oil. No lime, Just... oil! I ordered vaca frita and it tasted like it had been seasoned with a single, lonely bay leaf; dry and lifeless. I squeezed an entire lime over it, added salt and pepper, and it was still just "meh." I asked for mojo to give it life and what came out was... cooking oil mixed with the "mojo" from a Badia bottle. I literally thought to myself, umm... since when does real mojo have cooking oil and zero garlic? To top it off, they sprinkled garlic powder into the oil as if that made it magical. Overall, I was really disappointed. While his steak was good, nothing else was worth a repeat visit. We truly wanted to love this place but sadly, it missed the mark. Fabulous Ambience and Great Staff. Beautiful addtion to Naples area. Excellent Addition to the new Founders Square area. Truly authentic Cuban Sandwich. Hearty portion and side dish for lunch options as well. The prices for the quality of the ingredients and meal served are a great value. I personally have not visited Cuba yet enjoy the cuisine and have visited highly rated Cuban restaurants in both Miami and Chicago. Have made it a point to always try what is a go to tradtional, "Cuban Sandwhich". This one served here is an excptional value for the price and easy on the taste buds. The staff is exceptional. One is greeted upon arrival and instantly felt welcomed to restaurant as if family. This restaurant is a positive experience when you walk through the door, it's clean and spacious and the wall murals are a great touch. The old chevy pictures reminded me of the cars in Havana and Hemingway added to the Cuban ambiance. As far as the food, the restaurant has a very good choice of Cuban cuisine to choose from including appetizers, soups, sandwiches and who doesn't like the classic Cuban sandwich? For dinner fare, they offer a good selection of seafood and beef dishes, with familiar things like Camarones Enchilados which is shrimp with red sauce, a staple in most Mexican restaurants or Ropa Vieja. They even have Peruvian food on the menu and I'll definitely try the Saltado next time. Hubs went with the Pollo a la Plancha, which is a breaded chicken breast, I decided on chicken fajitas and we both liked the way the food was prepared. The servers are attentive and the wait wasn't too long for a takeout order. Prices and portions are good, as most people know, dining out in Naples can be expensive, but Havana Libre offers good value for your money. Snowbirds are leaving town, so restaurants like this will have more room for the locals. We like the restaurant and plan to return soon. read more

I'll admit, I'm no expert on authentic Cuban cuisine, but after 40 years of visiting Cuban restaurants across the U.S., I feel qualified to judge a good churrasco steak. Living nearby, we decided to try Havana Libre. At first glance, in a strip mall with signage that looked more like a sandwich shop, we weren't sure what to expect. Step inside, though, and you're greeted by an elegant space with high-end finishes, artwork and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff were friendly, attentive, and efficient. Drinks arrived immediately, and our churrasco steaks, ordered medium rare (medium might have been better), were fantastic. The sides -- plantains, rice, and cheesy mashed potatoes -- were excellent. I travel to the Naples, Florida area a few times a month and was looking forward to trying this local Cuban spot. Unfortunately, the experience fell short. I ordered through Uber Eats, and when the food arrived at my hotel, there were no utensils included at all--no forks, knives, or even napkins. To make matters worse, the side of avocado I ordered was pathetic: just a few small, bland, underripe chunks with zero seasoning or presentation. It felt skimpy and not worth the price. I called the restaurant to share some constructive feedback, hoping it would help them improve and keep repeat customers like me coming back. Instead of taking any responsibility, the person who answered immediately blamed Uber and seemed completely uninterested in resolving it. Now here I am in my hotel room, hunting down utensils from the front desk. The food itself wasn't terrible, but the combination of missing basics, the sad avocado, and the defensive attitude on the phone left a bad impression. Served with 2 sides of your choice. I chose the side of black beans and sweet plantain. Others chose the rice or French fries, hot and crispy. We all enjoyed our meals. The service was excellent as well. This restaurant use to be on Golden Gate in Naples. The new restaurant is beautiful! There is also a great bar you may choose to enjoy as well. I absolutely LOVE this restaurant and even that's an understatement. Everything about this place is perfection to say the very least! My dad found it around the time they first opened and started going here a lot and hyping it up and the wonderful food to my mom and I. Not only is the food terrific, but the portions are super generous for the price. Both my dad and I usually get the avocado salad with fish, and let me tell you, it is quite the legendary dish! He goes so often that I'm pretty sure all of the servers know him and the ones I've met are all super kind, helpful, and amazing at what they do. This restaurant has brought a lot of happiness into our lives and I pray that God blesses this establishment and everyone working here tenfold for my everlasting gratitude. The food and service were 5 star. The flavors are superb, the staff is nice, and the vibe is great. I can't give it 5 stars total though due to the loud music. I love a good party and some action. But it's so loud you cannot hear the server or anyone at your table. I'd gladly give it 5 stars, but not being able to hear anything said by anyone the entire night was less than ideal. For starters the ambiance was good with nice murals on the walls, unfortunately this is where it ends. My wife chose the Lechon Asado. Where have you ever seen roast pork that is sliced? Good lechon, if cooked correctly cuban style, falls apart and very juicy. I had the Arroz con Mariscos and to their credit, they do give you a healthy portion of seafood, but again lacked flavor that should be expected from any good cuban restaurant.
