The service wasn't great either, so between iffy service and high prices, you'd think I'd give a lower rating, but the food was very very good by Naples standards, and so for that reason I'm willing to let the annoying prices slide and say that I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here, and give a 5 star rating. The portion was a decent size and the flavor was exquisite. It's impossible not to give it a five-star when it tastes this good, even though I do have to admit that my recent discovery of Haitian food in Tampa and then Miami slightly eclipses these Cuban dishes, but that doesn't mean I love these any less. My notes: Disappointed by the price, felt a bit screwed over, coffee was fairly good, but the beef stew was excellent, although not haitian standards Now I have to go watch Grease because I have a taste for Sandy. Since Rumba is closed today we tried Sandys. What a huge mistake!! We walked in at 2, (they close at 4)We asked if they were closing & if so we understood & would come back another day. Girl said no sit down, then continued to clean & mop floors with a stinky cleaner!! Beans had no flavor, rice was hard, iced tea was even bad! Server tried to be nice but was nicer to other customers that came in who spoke Spanish. We couldn't get out of there quick enough! Never again! read more

Breakfast is a bargain here. $4.99 for two eggs, Cuban toast, ham and a small coffee (I had a cafe con leche and it's yummy!). I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return unless I was visiting a nearby car dealership to service my vehicle. They were out of freshly squeezed OJ, so I tried the pineapple juice which tasted like it came from a can although it's labeled as fresh juice on the menu. This was my second time here, the 1st was good, but not great! The server was great and friendly the Cuban sandwich was good, the bread was crispy filling was warm it filled my pie hole. Went back there for a steak sandwich subway has a better steak sandwich! The bread was not pressed or even hot, a teak was so thin I thought they forgot to add the steak. Nope, it was their chewy and no flavor, I mean if you consider bland a flavor. Yes, I know it's a sandwich and I shouldn't expect too much come-on flavor and crispy bread plus a steak weighing more than 1oz would be great! Happend to come across Sandy's while waiting at the traffic light nearby. What a find. 3 of us for lunch shared 5 sandwiches that we couldn't stop! Both Cubano sandwiches of which we loved the sweet bread one over the other and the Fish sandwich was huge, fresh and flaky, better than any other fish and chip shop in Naples!! We went back for breakfast 2 days later and had empanadas, Papa Relleno's along with egg dishes! This is a local favorite for the Cafe con Leche and the quick and easy authentic meals to go. Great coffee, but very poor service. Both the ladies working there today 7/22/24 at 3 PM were both rude and not very welcoming. The one who took our order was even annoyed when we asked about beverages available on the menu. We had no menu to look at so we had to ask. I even gave them a tip too which I regretted afterwards because apparently we were in their way of cleaning and she said "Are you guys going to have a seat? Because I need to clean". Had a bunch of Cuban places bookmarked on Yelp. This place didn't have a lot of reviews but people raved about it (and how cheap it was) so I figured I'd give it a try. Ended up going on a Cuban sandwich tour/taste test across Naples. This was a really tiny place. Ordered at the counter and got my sandwich within a few mins. Of the four places I tried, this was the tiniest sandwich (though by far the cheapest). It was pressed so that probably compacted the sandwich a bit. There was no color on the bread, though it was super crispy. My biggest problem with the sandwich was how dry it was. The meat was slightly salty (seemed just to be deli meat but I could be wrong), and there wasn't much cheese. Was pretty disappointed. I guess you get what you pay for (though in NY, I could probably find a few hole in the walls serving sizable $5-6 sandwiches). Possible that their other dishes are better, but can't speak to that. With so many Cuban places (with better first impressions), if I were ever in the area again, I would probably head to one of the other places first. But I did get the vibe that it was a super authentic mom and pop type shop with regulars and so it's possible I just experienced a miss. read more

Due to being of Cuban descent, I believe that I am qualified to give a professional opinion on Cuban food. With that being said, Sandys is the real deal! My brother and I came here for his birthday, and man we're we impressed! I ordered Masas de puerco (fried pork chunks) with white rice, black beans, and maduros (fried sweet plantains). The pork was season to perfection. They topped it with some delicious onions that help add some acidity to the dish. My brother order a Croqueta Preparada (croquette sandwich with ham, pork, Swiss cheese, mustard, and pickles) with a side of plantain chips, and tostones (fried plantains). The Sandwich brought me back to my childhood when I used to order it on a regular basis. The Tostones were very crispy which I enjoyed. I added some salt to it since my grandmother used to always make them on the saltier side. We finished off this meal with a Cafecito (Cuban espresso) and it was probably one of the best ones I've had! It was strong, sweet, hot! The perfection combination. We found this small place on our way, the food it's amazing and the service is outstanding. One of the things I do love is the fresh orange juice made there, it's sometimes a shame that being in Florida some other restaurants use processed oj. They were okay here, felt almost dismissed and not really like they wanted to serve me, and didn't seem to enjoy life and very gloomy kind of atmosphere. Stopped by here when I saw the reviews on yelp. I came in for breakfast and sat at the counter, looks like a favorite local spot. The cafe con leche was delicious as was the Cuban pan (bread).
