Lunch with friends, all three sandwiches were good. My friends had the chicken sandwich and the steak sandwich I had the Midnight sandwich, which is basically the Cuban on Hawaiian type sweet bread. I thought it was delicious. My friend who got steak sandwich said he had ordered a Cuban, but I know he mumbled it, and he's also kind of deaf, so when the server repeated what she thought he said (steak), he nodded. His fault. I know he enjoyed his food, though. Personally, I thought it was expensive, it was over $60 for these three sandwiches, no drinks and a side of rice and beans, at lunch, but then I'm not from this area and also am a cheapa$$ so maybe this pricing was fine for Naples. Beautiful small Cuban restaurant! Outstanding food! We were visiting from Missouri on Christmas Day and searching for a Cuban restaurant in the area. Everything was closed until we found Van Van. So I was visiting a neighboring business and just thought I'd try this place for a late lunch. My wife joined me and we got a roasted chicken lunch with plantains and vegetables to split. The chicken was perfect! Crispy on outside and moist on the inside and full of flavor. It appears to be a family run restaurant and I was super excited to find this gem. Outstanding. We stopped at the restaurant for an early dinner. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with an ample amount of parking. We all got mojitos which were okay. We also shared a starter of beef empanadas which were very tasty, crispy and perfectly seasoned. Traditional Cuban soup with garbanzo beans was a riot - if you like soups, this dish would make you happy. Seasoning, flavor, taste - superb. My main dish was seafood mix, which was again well seasoned and tasty. I also had an opportunity to try roasted pork chunks (Masitas de Puerco) - amazing, and Bistec de Pollo which was very tasty. Yellow rice was very good. My favorite side dish was Fried Yuca - superb flavor and taste. Both chocolate and regular Tres Leches were tasty, and Cuban coffee was strong and sweet. If you are in the mood for cuban food this place is a must stop! I ordered a cuban sandwich. It was delicious. Honestly probably the best cuban sandwich i've ever had. Sides do not come with the sandwich so you do have to order that separately. The ambience is nice. They have a small outside eating area that's perfect for a nice day. The black bean soup was astounding. The chicken soup too--I mean when you have a bay leaf in it, you know they are doing something right. The Pollo Imperial was really good, except I like mine loaded with olives and peas. The beef I was a little surprised it didn't have a strong flavor of garlic and lime. The fried chicken appetizer is a HUGE portion but the most amazing fry on it. The one thing I was co fused about was I wanted a cuban style sandwhich but with chicken instead of pork, and they said they couldn't because they were made in the morning? What in incredible authentic Cuban restaurant! When many patrons are speaking Spanish, you know you came to the right place. The food is absolutely amazing. It is better than any place we went to Miami. All of the pork dishes and beef dishes are out of this world. (I haven't tried the chicken or seafood dishes but I am sure they are just as good). It is in a stipe mall so it's not much on atmosphere but if you are going for amazing food, this is the place. The side salad had a terrific oil and vinager dressing, the sweet plantains are better than any I have had in the Caribbean, even the fries were cooked to perfection. This restaurant is not anywhere near the "family owned" hype for a good experience. The food is just average and the service is just ok. I ordered the 1/2 chicken, it was small, dried out and cold, must have been made earlier in the evening and reserved. The house salad was also meager. The server also never came back till we were done to see if everything is ok. This is my second visit, thought my first one was bad because every restaurant can have a bad night. Dinner menu looked a little expensive for a store front restaurant but if the food was as good on the dinner as the lunch offers you would be getting your money worth in a place in Naples. I like to see a place that is working hard to give you something for your money and this place did. If I was staying in the area I would go back and try dinner. So we ordered for pickup, and the presentation left a lot to be desired (things were stuffed awkwardly into styrofoam containers), but wow this is the best tasting cuban food i've had in forever! This is right up there with some of the best Paladares in Havana and Varadero. We got the Ropa Vieja and Churrasco, both were amazing.
