Grilled and fried chicken with Spanish rice and beans.
Ravuth O.

Just went there yesterday! I liked my visit yesterday so I decided to go back the next day. I didn't realize I spent $26 dollars in the 8 Piece meal so I was not going to do that or else I would go to KFC or Popeyes for that price. I decided to get the 4 piece and added Empanadas for and extra $2. 4 pc of chicken, 2 sides. Unfortunately, the sides were really small. Everything came to around $15. The empanadas were the best ones I had. For the first time it's not greasy and my stomach was not upset. I wish the sides were a little bigger but the grilled chicken had flavor. Food: Grilled chicken has flavor and is not dry or under-cooked. First-time empanadas not greasy. I have more pictures added. My recommended place for fast food Spanish food. I can rate the full experience because their is not inside dining which more than understandable for COVID-19 epidemic.

A MUST TRY! So happy to see this place over here and so close to home. Everything was perfection and so fresh. Service was fast and great spacious restaurant as well. Well worth the trip!

4 piece meal with plantains and fries

Growing up, we'd always have to wait to go to Guatemala or El Salvador before eating from this place. Now that it's conveniently close, it's like a bite of home each time. The taste is no different from the one I've tried in Guatemala and El Salvador which is where it originated. So rest assured you are getting authentic food. The 4 piece meal cost $16 which is a good price since 2 people can eat from it and get full. The chicken is crispy, a bit salty, and the breading is unique so it's hard to describe. The plantains were sweet and soft, but it would've been a tiny bit better if they were a bit caramelized. The fries are really good--crispy, light, and the perfect amount of salt. The place was a bit too air conditioned for my liking to eat inside, but it's clean and inviting. Despite having so many orders come through, the food came out relatively quick and the staff is friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend!

2 meals of 2 chicken pieces and a side with fountain drink $20 Coleslaw not good and mash potatoes taste like plastic. I expected more for the price. The chicken is delicious.

Grilled chicken was juicy and the flavor was ok but really small pieces. The rice was bland and was a really small portion.

The interior is clean--almost startlingly so. White subway tile, wood-look floors, and that sprawling menu wall broadcasting "Fresh," "Spicy," and "Halal" like they actually mean something here. The young lady behind the counter had that genuine warmth you can't train into people. Not the "corporate manual says smile" routine, but someone who's actually invested in what they're serving. The sandwich arrived still hot. First bite tells the whole story--that perfect orange-colored crust breaks up properly, giving way to chicken that's fantastically seasoned all the way through. The bun holds everything without getting soggy or falling apart halfway through. It's the quick precision of fast food with the soul of something homemade. Those fries deserve their own paragraph--skinny, crisp, and seasoned with something that makes standard salt and pepper seem like amateur hour. Someone in that kitchen actually cares about the potatoes. What sets Maaz's apart is execution. They're not trying to create some wild new flavor profile or Instagram-bait sandwiches. They're just doing the basics perfectly, consistently, one serving at a time. Providence keeps turning up these gems--places that don't need fancy locations or PR campaigns, just seriously great food that creates its own word-of-mouth buzz. I'd open one of these in my hometown tomorrow if I could. The place would print money, not because it's revolutionary, but because it delivers exactly what it promises: the best version of a fast food chicken sandwich you've ever had. Worth the drive to Providence. Worth the tight parking. Worth every penny.

Love that you get to choose your spice level. We both did hot and it was actually hot. The strips came on top of bread slices which was a bit confusing as it was plan sandwich bread.. not toasted or buttered or anything. I was thinking it was going to be a raising canes situation but wondering if the bread was just under the chicken to soak up grease?? Idk man. The fries were crispy and had some seasoning on them which was decent but they were not fresh, was dried out. There were some small slices of pickles and they were good. Also came with a sauce that was like a Chick-fil-A type vibe to it.

"Menu please?" "Of course. Specials are on the board, what will you have for a drink?" "I'll have a Canadian Club Manhattan." "How about Rittenhouse Foo?" "Sounds good Antonio, best bartender but how about Crown Royal?" "Foo, relax, I'll make you a nice drink," said Antonio. "Hey Antonio," Foo says, "I'll have a cheeseburger, medium, no bacon, fries is okay." As Antonio put down my Manhattan I told him that I was at 22 Bowen's and ran into Chef Eric. Antonio said Eric invented the grind ratios for the Slow Rhode burgers. "Well, Foo believes you best burger in city. Not in state but in city," said Foo. Antonio said, "Who best in state?" Foo, me, the reviewer of the review leaned back in the barstool, looked around the funky ambiance space, and stroked the long scraggly beard Foo tries to grow and said, "I believe best burger is Clarke Cooke House on English muffin with the Gorgonzola." "Really?" "Yes, but one that beats that is Newport Creamery Big Beef patty melt!" "Yo homes, that's a tasty burger," said Antonio. "Righteous!" Foo yelled while giving daps and hugs to Antonio all while jamming a massive stack of grat, all tens, into his pocket and yelling, "My name Foo!" and disturbing the nice people at Slow Rhode. Foo loves Slow Rhode.

On a busy Saturday night, we were prepared to not find space, but gave it a shot. Luckily, there was a perfect corner of the bar had just opened & we grabbed the seats. The atmosphere was convivial, upbeat & super comfortable, despite the crowd. Service was fabulously friendly & competent - the bartender handling the packed house with ease. We decided to go with an array of small plates to try as much as possible. The menu it designed perfectly for grazing & the prices are super reasonable! The selections are definitely on the comfort-food side with a strong southern hint. Ingredients are often locally sourced - something I greatly admire. We began with the a small plate of Pimento Cheese Toast. Just a few bites each but a nice start. Duck Drumettes. The horseradish-y white sauce was delectable! Even my non-duck loving partner was blown away. I was happy to hear that the salad was available in a half portion - enough for a light fresh break to our heavy selections. Next came a much heavier choice - the gravy fries with duck confit. We left off the cheese, but it wasn't missed at all. These were decadent, delicious & super filling! Next time we'd get a half portion - that would have been plenty! Our final dish was the Shrimp & Grits, but we'd already filled up on the other dishes & ended up asking for this to go. Even reheated, it was a perfectly delicious accompaniment to our brunch the next day! I'd be tempted to order this to-go again for just that purpose. While we didn't imbibe, the cocktail list looked wonderful & the bar was very well stocked. We did enjoy a nice selection from the interesting beer list. The sandwiches that we saw come out looked delicious & huge! We'd love to try them as well. We will be back - this is certainly a new favorite for us!

On Christmas Eve, instead if feasting in the seven…read morefishes, I notoriously bring along a bucket of fried goodness (much to the delight of the young kids as well). In the never ending battle of unhealthy chicken Crown is my go-to for quick fire satisfaction. I find that their chicken, while not always as LARGE as it's big chain competition, far surpasses the others in taste (don't get me wrong, little compares to Popeyes spicy chicken, but the breading is very flavorful here). Let me also say - for a basic, watery hot sauce, theirs is AMAZING! It's a perfect compliment to their juicy chicken. The shoestring fries are always fantastic and it's way more affordable than any of the other chains around. My biggest vice is their "firey fingers". It's with shame I admit to being absolutely in love with a obviously frozen and processed meat product - but the taste these little strips of goodness pump out is by far one of my favorite things ever. Years ago a place called "Paradiso Pizza" offered the same product in a sandwich - and I got hooked. When I found them on the Crown menu, it wouldn't be odd to find me there 2-3 times a week. Let me also say - it's not a great location. It's clean and the staff is fine (when they aren't showing obvious signs of frustration with their local clientele) but a friend who first introduced me to this place said that because I was there with him after midnight (he is Nigerian) that I was granted a special ghetto pass to get in and never feel bothered. The good news - there are a few other locations (both Crown and Royal Fried Chicken) around that state that lend to a better overall experience - but this is my original and I still enjoy it there when I find myself in the area (and of course on Christmas Eve)

I've always been accommodated and enjoy the hot Tasty fresh chicken wings. However tonight I ordered 24 chicken wings, and the person on the phone said that she had wings in the warmer and I said I did not want those I wanted mine freshly made and she said she would drop them in the oil for me and it would take 15 minutes. I was sitting outside and when I went in after 12 minutes, the wings were in the warmer which usually when I ordered them fresh, they're already in the box waiting for me if I'm a few minutes late so she packed them up for me and then as she's putting them in the box, she says that whoever made the wings and dropped them in the oil made two less wings. I found that kind of odd so she gave me the one breast and one drumstick that was in the warmer. I left the restaurant and immediately wanted to taste the nice hot chicken wing, and they were cold. I'm only giving them three stars because this has never happened to me before. They are usually accommodating and they will cook the chicken right there so it is deliciously hot and tasty.. It's tasty it spicy and it's worth the money but I don't like being lied to.
