My order: 3 pc. Legs and thighs special (fried) for only $5.99. 1 pc. Empanada, and 1 order of mini churros.. Baybee!! The chicken was fried well, crispy, and so flavorful. The meat inside was equally flavorful and also moist. No dry chicken here. Deliciousness Score: 10/10 Empanada was just ok. It wasn't crispy. The outer shell was soft and they don't have any special dipping sauce for it. Only bbq, buffalo, ranch, ketchup, and cholula hot sauce. First time visiting this location and I wanted to see what the hype was about, especially since this sandwich is often compared to Chick-fil-A. The sandwich definitely stands out the sauce is different and unique, and the chicken was noticeably juicier. The cider fries were a generous portion; since we dined in, they were served on a plate and came with a good amount of fries. When I found out they have a location in Fontana, I had to make my way here so here I am... It's conveniently located in the Sierra Lakes Parkway area close to the 210 Fwy. I went thru drive-thru. There was no other car in front of me at the time. I ordered the 3 piece fried chicken meal with yucca fries plus water. Chicken was very moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. Seasoning was so on point! I don't know what they put in that batter, but it is very delicious! Yucca fries were good, too. Water was refreshing! Staff was okay. Service was very quick. I have yet to try the food. The two times I've wanted to order in person the worker said it was atleast a 45 minute wait. The workers look over worked and understaffed. After paying at the drive through, I was asked to park out front and the food would be out in about 3 minutes. 15 minutes went by so I went in and asked, the cashier said he was just waiting on the chicken sandwich. I highly anticipated the opening of this place since there isn't very much fast food restaurants to chose from in this part of the woods. Of course, I had to go on opening day despite the long lines. I regret to say that I was disappointed with my experience. I ordered the 8 piece chicken 1/2 grilled and 1/2 fried with a side of macaroni and cheese as well as sweet plantains. I also got a three piece chicken nugget meal with fries and a mango drink. The kids meal was served cold and the fries were not warm at all. You would think the food would be fresh since it's the first day and the lines were long. The fried chicken was mediocre. The grilled chicken had a funky smell. We have had polio campero in the South Bay before and this is nothing like I remember it. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Just wasn't impressed at all. Overall a very disappointing meal. I feel like it could've been better, so what better way to rate it per Yelp's two star overview "could've been better" My excitement remained throughout the build process, up to when they opened! I've lived down the street since 2016 and have slowly seen the development of buildings and businesses. And when it comes to food, its a much needed addition in Fontana. As Fontana is flooded with your typical "truck stop" food scene. It is needed, meaning true diversity of food - and not just Mc Donalds, Jack in the box, etc. So a new chicken spot in the area? That is a bonus for the community. Polo campero is heavily populated in Los Angeles - and usually rewarding! Over the years, they've drastically changed their menu, and I believe with best efforts and intentions to cater to a larger audience, though I feel by doing so, they lost their core strength. I remember seeing them growing up in just about every Curacao haha. Now they're more than just fried chicken, they have grilled chicken, sandwiches, dessert, salads, etc. Their Chicken today wasn't bad - crispy, but it was dry too. Flavor wise, unique, I feel like that has changed over the years too! Their bread is beyond sad, it taste like cafeteria bread, super dry, and most certainly not cooked onsite. Their fries were decent, the macaroni was decent, and their beans were meh. The plantains weren't bad. Overall, for the price you're paying today and the quality/taste, it's mediocre and leaves you heavily questioning why you paid so much or why you'd ever return here versus going to a church chicken as an example. It is my hope that as time goes on, they refine their cooking skills, their new staff develops the needed talent and that customers can feel like they're getting good value in exchange for the amount being charged. I went through the drive-thru between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM on 11/23/2024, and the person taking orders had the worst customer service I've ever experienced. She was rude, unprofessional, and didn't even bother to ask if we wanted drinks or if we preferred tortillas or dinner rolls with our meals--we had to ask her ourselves. They were waiting on plátanos, so they parked us at the front. When the lady brought our order to the car, her attitude was just as bad. She handed us the bag without saying a word, and when we asked her a question, she turned around, gave us a rude look, and snapped, "Yes, everything is there," before walking away.
