Delicious Taste of Colombia in Rialto - La Paisita is a Gem! I'm so excited that La Paisita just opened in the Rialto area because it is absolutely AMAZING. I ordered the bandeja paisa, arepa con queso, and empanadas de carne, and every single dish was incredibly delicious. The bandeja paisa was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented -- flavorful meats, fresh ingredients, and generous portions. You can tell everything is made with care and authenticity. The arepa con queso was warm, soft, and packed with cheesy goodness. And the empanadas de carne? Crispy on the outside, savory and perfectly seasoned on the inside. Honestly, some of the best I've had. I also tried their maracuyá (passion fruit) juice, and when I say they give you a HUGE cup -- I mean humongous! It was refreshing, perfectly sweet and tangy, and the portion size alone makes it worth it. Another standout was their version of pico de gallo -- fresh, vibrant, and so flavorful. It complemented everything beautifully. The ambiance is super cute and welcoming. The design makes it feel cozy yet lively -- a great place to sit down and enjoy a meal with family or friends. On top of that, the customer service was very pleasant and attentive. They really make you feel appreciated as a guest. Portions are generous, presentation is on point, flavors are authentic -- La Paisita is definitely a must-try if you're in the Rialto area. I will absolutely be coming back! Very small dine in area with 4 seater tabl A floral theme with silk flowers were randomly arranged on wall to wall paneling of green artificial decorative boxwood plant mats!!! Greeted by a wonderful Spanish speaking server. After browsing the menu decided on the Chuleta Valluna ..... 2 pcs of fried Breaded pork chops platter ( bland ,overcooked and tough) served with rice , potato salad and 2 pcs plantain. Arroz Con Pollo was a serving of rice with hardly pieces of shredded chicken in it , hot dog pieces, mixed vegetables with a side of French Fries?????? Carbs with carbs ??????? Came in for late lunch with sweetheart. Place was empty when we got in. She ordered breaded pork cutlets and arroz con pollo for myself. I wanted caldo de pata originally on the list of anout 5 soups but lady serving us said they have only the caldo de pescado. Menu prices on the high side compared to others but we want to try and see how good the food are. Ambiance not comfortable because of language barrier. Communication not easy and simple. I'm Colombian so please understand that I've eaten at several Colombian restaurants. I'm in a quest to find a place with authentic dishes. First of all, they didn't have empanadas (big negative). Then I ordered the sobrebarriga but again they didn't have any even though it's in the menu, so Iordered the bandeja paisa.. I ordered a manzana soda and a Colombiana soda for my wife, they were 10.48 Oz cans, very small but the charge what other restaurants charge for the 12 Oz cans. When our food came my stake was half fat (see picture attached, what's left is all fat) I got one thing slice of plantain that wasn't "maduro". The arepa was thin and seemed to be fried! The place was small and I could hear the full conversation from the table on the other end. When it was time to pay my bill they said that they couldn't accept credit card payments (even though they post that the accept all forms of credit card payment) so I had to Zelle. Overall the experience, the food and service were way WAY below expectations. So far the best Colombian food for taste, service and authenticity is Donde Adelas in Orange is the best! read more

Service was not so great but friendly a couple things I did not like was their menus have no description of the food served and you must either pay cash or Zelle no credit cards accepted, it's fine but it would be nice to have known that at the beginning. I will say it's cute and clean overall. Now their coffee 10/10 delicious ask for sugar if you like it sweet. The calentao paisa 8.5/10 is good and I appreciate the portion, can easily feed two people. Calentao montañero 7/10 was ok same as the paisa just mixed together again feed up to two people. Worst Service Ever. Waiter was drunk and smelled like pot & Alcohol. I have a lot to say but I don't want to waste my time explaining everything. We ordered 4 plates and the only thing that was worth was the arepas con queso. He brought all of our food one by one with like 5-10 mins in between each plate including drinks... I kept asking for different things that I had ordered because He kept forgetting to bring them. My mom's plate was the last to arrive after about waiting for 35 mins. He explained that They were waiting for the beans to be ready and proceeded to ask if she wanted her plate without beans... that he would bring the beans when they are ready (Beans never came). I am a non-Spanish-speaking American. I enjoy learning about different cultures, especially through food. Living in Fontana, there are Mexican restaurants on every other corner. When I stumbled across this restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised. The parking lot was packed, with a very large and loud speaker outside, blasting music. I thought there was a party, lol. My daughter and I walked in and the place was completely empty. No biggie, we sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. I finally had to ask the young man at the counter for menus. He acted like it was an inconvenience to serve us. I can't stand people who pull the race card every opportunity they can, so I reserved judgment. Looking at the menu, they seemed to have a good variety of food, but the menu was in Spanish and it was hard to figure out what was what. I pointed at the grilled chicken dish asking if it came with rice and beans. He quickly answered, "No English." On the surface, I didn't really have a problem with it, but he made no attempt to try to communicate past that. It became abundantly clear communication was going to be our responsibility. My daughter speaks very little Spanish and struggled to translate. He seemed to cooperate with her, but had no desire to speak to me any further. I have a huge issue with that. I won't go into unnecessary talk about being in America and not speaking English, my mother was an immigrant from Italy. English became her second language. What I am concerned about is running a business and not caring about communicating with customers. I honestly wanted to walk out at that point. My daughter asked to stay, she really wanted to try the food. Ugh.... We got through the order but my grilled chicken didn't come with black beans, so I asked for a side. My bad for thinking I would get a scoop of black beans on my plate. He almost immediately brought out a cereal bowl size of black beans. It sat on the table while we waited for the rest of our food. By the time my order arrived, the beans were cold. We waited a very long time, I couldn't understand that. Again, there was no one else in the restaurant. And why did I get a bowl of beans without the rest of my meal? At some point, my daughter asked for a straw in English, and the young man brought her one. Of course I raised an eyebrow to that. The food was decent, but extremely overpriced for what it was. We waited for a check that never came. I had to walk to the counter to ask him for a check. He pointed at a handwritten sign posted at the register...in Spanish. I had no idea what it said, but I had a credit card in hand ready to pay. He then said, "No card, cash or Zelle only." I just stared at him. I don't know if I was more annoyed with his ability to speak English or the fact that there was nothing posted outside or anything written in English alluding to their payment policy. We still didn't get a check. I think he understood I wasn't budging until I saw a breakdown of the order. He wrote it up very quickly and handed it to me. I noted and laughed at his process. My chicken dish was $23.99, but the check reflected $24. That was the theme of all items on the check. By this time, I just wanted to pay and get out of there. After reading some of the other bad reviews, I don't take our treatment personal. But I do think it's sad because Fontana is full of big box stores, chain restaurants, and coffee shops, but little mom and pop restaurants to bring culture to our city. read more

I stopped by and decided to try the the pan de bono I figure if they are good I will return to try food . Pan de bono were a joke $4 each and I got 3 and a soda . My Bill was 17$ the pan de bono were a joke very small and tasted old . That's says it all about food , I will not return . Disappointing. read more

Excellent food different style of cooking than what Im use to. I do not regret it!! It was delicious the plantain was cooked to perfection not sweet potato texture but better. The food sits light not heavy. The BEANS full of flavor. The egg over rice cooked yet runny but the edges and whites cooked. The AREPAS and EMPANADAS were my FAVORITE. So this is the first time we go to this restaurant and here's what happened; first, the food took a long time to be taken to our table, even though there wasn't that many people. Second, the waiter was investing, his time hanging out with his friends outside drinking alcohol in public, which is illegal and there were seven grown adult adults, partaking in drinking beer. Ask yourself how does that reflect on a business especially a restaurant to have a ton of people all men drinking getting drunk in public in front of the restaurant third this place does not allow ATM debit cards or credit cards. Food was not the best. All of it, from the bandeja paisa to the other side dishes. Again, the waiter, instead of getting our sodas asking if we were okay was outside drinking(we saw him)beers outside with all his buddies. Then, when it came to pay the bill, guess what, only cash & Zelle. They don't accept Apple-pay which is how we always pay. They ended up not charging us the $57 bill. Since most of the menu was unavailable, I got the menu del dia. Overall the food was good, although the albondigas were not seasoned or beefy enough. They were fine mixed with the other food and hot sauce though. The server didn't speak any English, so it was a little difficult trying to figure out what to order when the first three items I mentioned were unavailable. First and last time we go there. Horrible service. My husband and I decided to try this place for the first time. We both ordered at the same time. I got my plate which was chicharron & an arepa. The chicharron had good flavor but the arepa was paper thin and bland. My husband ordered shrimp and rice, however never got his plate. 3 different parties walked in after we had ordered, and were served within 5 minutes. The waiter was busy socializing with his "friends" that were there and completely ignored the fact that my husband hadn't been served. We finally got tired of waiting and had to cancel his order. Food is OK, nothing to write home about. It lacks seasoning. The "Bandeja Paisa's" beef (steak) was tough, the "Sobrebarriga en Salsa" was tender and flavorful, but the salsa was absent. The "Arepa de queso" was very good although it would be much better if the cheese was grated. The portions were pitiful, for the extremely high prices, I'd say food is way overrated They had run out of their "Flagship" entries: Arepas and Empanadas and it was barely 3:00 PM or so. Was hesitant to eat out this new restaurant because of the bad reviews and ratings but glad I gave it a try. The food was delicious, full if flavor. Don't remember the name of the shrimp soup. It was creamy, lots of shrimp and bursting with flavor. My friend order Bandeja paisa and meats were tender and well seasoned. Only thing that I personally didn't like was that my soup came out first, waited a couple of minutes, before other dish was brought to table.... Worth trying. read more
