First time trying this Salvi restaurant and I was blown away! The Pastelitos were a 10/10. So delicious. I loved the chicken and the beef. Fried Plantain (Platanos) were cut thick but were so sweet and ripe. 9/10 Bean/Cheese/Jalapeno Pupusas were outstanding! I requested extra bean and cheese filling (cuz I like mine THICK), and these were heavy! Full of filling and really delicious. 100/10 The two types of salsas, curtido, and the crema were all delicious, flavorful complements to the meal. Stopped by here with my sister for lunch this past week . It was fairly empty especially on a lunch hour . Customer service was excellent and attentive. Pupusa quality fresh , hot and flavorful and delicious and their salsa & pickled cabbage mix and refreshing drink . Overall , everything was phenomenal. Only issue we had was tiny bugs buzzing around maybe due to the plants indoors idk . Restaurant was super clean & bathrooms. Definitely a must if you want something made authentic family owned and local business. read more

We went for the papusas, and they were epic! The place was crowded because they obviously have a great reputation. We just got takeout this time, but I plan to go back and try more of their Salvadoran and Central American dishes. read more

The pupusas were ok, the wait was long to get them and the pupusas were different sizes.

We were craving caldo in this cold weather and came across El Salamar in Rialto through Yelp. We ordered a Caldo de Res, Sopa de Puya, Tamal de Elote, Tamal de Pollo, Atole de Elote, and Horchata Salvadoreña. Overall, the food was flavorful, but the standout for me was the Atole de Elote and Tamal de Elote. The Sopa and Caldo were good but not the best I've had. The Tamal de Pollo was okay; I've had better, but it wasn't bad. It's hard to find authentic Salvadorian tamales de pollo. I'd rate it an 8 out of 10. The Horchata was good too, even though I'm not usually a fan. I didn't get a chance to try their pupusas, but I did see some being served to the table next to us, and they looked delicious. The service was friendly, though it did take a bit longer than expected to place our order. It looked like only one person was working the floor while others were in the back cooking. It seems like a family-owned business with good hospitality. The place has ample seating, good lighting, and a big screen TV. Chips and salsa were served while we waited for our food read more

Delicious! Our usual place was closed so we decided to give this place a try and we were not disappointed. The food was really good, the pupusas were bomb. The Tamala de pollo, bomb and the bistec encebollado bomb. People were nice at the counter good service, the place was clean and nicely decorated. We will definitely be coming back. They were also reasonably priced. read more

They have some of the best pupusas in town. I have tried multiple local places and this one has been my favorite so far. Great flavor, freshly made, and their cheese is amazing. I also recommend the platanos Fritos. Make a phone order if you don't want to wait too long. read more

Top quality salvadorian cuisine is all I was missing in my life , but those days are long gone after finding el salamar! Lol I unexpectedly found this newly established restaurant serving salvadorian cuisine near the 10fwy- riverside ave exit in Rialto. I made a pit stop to try some of their dishes and it left me wanting more ! I have been visiting 2x a week and pupusas are always freshly made and It is authentic as it can possibly be. I have dined in and ordered pickup (ordered my go to pupusas revueltas ) and food has always been fresh, hot and tasty! Portions are very generous... I also tried their fish ceviche tostadas and that was very savory as well . They do offer authentic salvadorian bottled drinks and fresh made waters ( agua-ensalada) that are a must try. Can't recommend enough to stop by on Tuesday specials, pupusas are 2$ and try them all . Although a salvadorian specialty restaurant, you will find Mexican and American options too. Everything is cooked to order so it will not disappoint. The establishment is not crowded and plenty of seating for large crowds. Staff is always very friendly and attentive. read more

The pupusas, delicious! The platanos, delicious! The service was great! The restaurant, well maintained! Clean and spacious!

Okay, this is one of those secret secrets, and now you know. $2 pupusas cannot be beat, the carnitas and yucca frita are also really good. Use tons of the pickled veg and you've got a filling, delicious meal on your hands. Don't blow their cover or you won't hear the end of it from anyone who already knows.. read more

I am always on the lookout for a great Salvi spot; whether is near my home or on the way home. So, when the opportunity to try El Salamar came up, you know I was game! While pupusas tend to be the norm for Salvi restaurants, I like to try something different. And, that's when the Pan Con Pollo comes into play. Yum! I loved every bit of it. It was a great balance of chicken, chicken juices, and fresh veggies that I savored every bite of it. Oh, and did I tell you they had cebada?! Yup, I ordered that too! Thank you El Salamar for offering a great dish! The service was great and I enjoyed the seating layout; plenty of space for everyone. read more

Amazing Pupusas and a really good tuesday deal. I appreciate the sides that come with the pupusas as well!

It's good food, and I almost don't want to share that information since it is a friendly, clean restaurant that so far isn't overly busy on a Sunday (it's always hard to find a place to eat at any restaurant after church around here on Sunday!). My first meal was the Tipico breakfast and it was great. My second time was the Vegetable Omelette and it was delicious. I wish them big success, and I will be back for some pupusas soon! read more

I ordered about 20 pupusas for pick up. Customer service was great! The food was ready on time. I ordered all revueltas and they were perfectly balanced. Very tasty and full of flavor. The added sauces and toppings were also delicious! There was plenty of parking and seating inside as well. The interior looked clean when I entered the restaurant. I have gone back 3 times already! I order yuca with pork the yuca was dry with no flavor n pork was toasted burn hard nasty plate I ever ate

Wanted to give them a 5* but they really don't put much chicharron on the revueltas. My daughter thought they're were just bean and cheese and for $4 ea I kinda expect more. I ordered 5 total all the same and an agua de ensalada. Came out to roughly $25.85 I did get both spicy and regular salsa without asking and the curtido was good thinner chopped and fresh looking. They don't use black beans like most places. Idk if they Peruvian or pinto but they are good. Masa is good not greasy at all. They seriously skimmed on the chicharron. I felt like I was eating a bean and cheese Gordita. Idk if I would go try again since they are not cheap. read more

Absolutely thrilled to have discovered this gem! I ordered the spinach and cheese pupusas, Revueltas, bean and cheese, and plain cheese, and each one was absolutely delicious and generously sized. Okay, guys. So, the pupusas from this place are definitely my number one recommendation to try. I've tried the carne, bean and cheese, and chicarron with cheese. And they all were so freaking good! Loaded with flavor. Perfect crispyness. Not too heavy to eat, and won't leave you miserably full, but full enough to be satisfied. Oh, and the dip or sauce and the pickled cabbage mixture that comes with them surely is a must-have! Go ahead, give them a try for yourself! You'll thank me later! read more

The food is good I had the revuelta pupusas and yucca con chicharrón. It was yummy, the Jamaica agua fresca was not so good. It smelled like sewage water and I sacrificed myself to taste it. Yuck! The place was clean and the atmosphere was good. read more
