This is The pupusa spot!!! The food is really good and the staff is friendly. I love to order the mixed pupusa along with an Horchata & plantains w/ cream for desert.

The pupusas here are really good. I find myself coming here often and the service is nice. The ambience is good too with music playing when I was there. There were a bunch of people from the city coming in to get some food and we will all be able to get food pretty quickly.

Great setvice & amazing papusas!! I got the nopales [cactus], mushroom, cheese. It did not disappoint . The filling was abundant & well cooked, with the cactus being the star. The bread was thick, moist, and very flavorable. On the side was a generous helping of coleslaw & spicy salsa. The shop is located right behind the San Bernardino Depot station. Perfect!! Really, really happy they're there.

After visiting The Cheech Center we got a craving for pupusas and went to Yelp for some nearby options. Hidden Paradise came up and we took a 15 minute drive over hoping this place would hit the spot...and it absolutely did! The pupusas were handmade and made to order. The prep time was about 10 minutes. We ordered a couple of the 2 pupusa 1 drink combos for $12. I personally ordered 1 cheese and 1 revuelta, they were both good but the cheese was excellent, my bf loved the asada one. All of them were tasty, as was their curtido and sauces. They weren't greasy and tasted homemade. The inside of the restaurant is small, just a couple tables but it is air conditioned and has one customer restroom. It's a simple layout but the pupusas are what really matter and those were top notch.

Hidden Paradise is literally the only restaurant operating in the second floor right behind the metrolink station. Plenty of parking too. Upon entering the restaurant, there was a strong smell of wet carpet and every time someone would go to the restroom there would be another strong odor permeating through (the tables are right next to it) so I wouldn't eat inside due to that. I got two of their pupusas (chicken and revueltas), they took around 30 mins to come out but they did give me a heads up so I didn't mind. The problem was that there was no chicken whatsoever in the chicken pupusa? There was only cheese inside. I liked their spicy sauce but the regular one was a bit too watery and the curtido tasted plain.

    Closed restaurant on Tuesday 2pm

Always wanted to try this place it's my 3rd time coming back and It's always closed very disappointed

Not sure Hidden Paradise is still a hidden gem after 5+ years. Judging by the line of people waiting in line, it is fairly well-known to people working around downtown San Bernardino these days. I am glad they made it through COVID but was a little surprised that they are not open for indoor seating yet. In fact, there is only enough room for one party to be inside to place orders then wait outside until the order is ready. Since there is no table nor bench outside either, our options are limited to eat in our car or take it back to the office/home. It is my co-worker's first time trying pupusas, I suspect it will not be his last time. I ordered a chicharrone (pork) and a camarone (shrimp) myself. They are served hot off the grill, stuffed with fillings. They were made to order so be ready to wait 25 minutes or so. Next time I think we will call ahead to place our orders.

Lots of parts were just plain masa...

To the owners: Nombre, no jodan.... Pónganle más relleno a las pupusas, men... Ni que baratas estuvieran para que le den la pura plasta de masa a uno. Y díganle a la muchacha que atiende que no sea tan bestia, que trate de ser un poco más amable con los clientes... I would've looked past the subpar pupusas (too many parts were just plain masa), but I was definitely put off by the young woman's attitude. I do not recommend. If you want great pupusas, drive the 15-20 minutes it would take to get to Restaurante Salvadoreño in Riverside.

Instead of trying to find out HOW meat got into my bean and cheese pupusa, she chose to be sarcastic and defensive about my experience without taking any accountability. She also said that their prices are "a little up there" and "are not meant for everyone" even though no one mentioned they had high prices. So she just went out of her way to...what? Call me poor? Weird. Please stop telling people that your cheese and beans are vegan; they are not. And it's not even always vegetarian either because I 100% got meat in mine and if you say you don't use ground meat in your pupusas, then I am even MORE concerned about what was in mine if it wasn't that. No wonder it upset my stomach all day! What the heck kind of meat was that?! You are clearly not a doctor so please don't try to tell me to go to the ER for an upset stomach. When vegetarians (and vegans) consume meat, we end up with a bad upset stomach - often for a full 24 hours or longer. It's like food poisoning to us. And I got it from your pupusas. She says: "We never said we are vegetarian connoisseurs." LOL lady, you're not even pupusa connoisseurs! I do agree with her on one thing though: Las Ploras pupusas "are not meant for everyone". I would keep that in mind the next time you're looking for good pupusas.

The pupusas were the highlight. The masa was soft and light, not heavy or doughy like some places. Very filling without feeling overwhelming. The curtido was also on point. Prices were reasonable for the portions and quality. The only downside was the Salvadoran horchata. It was a bit too sweet for our taste and lacked that nuttier, earthier richness I usually expect. Overall, solid food and a great surprise via delivery. We'll definitely be visiting the restaurant in person next time to try more of their food.

Noticed we had this spot close to our home on Friday and decided to go on Saturday since they were already closed by 5PM. The location is basically hidden away in a commercial business area. The inside is small and honestly a little warm for me but I find most Salv locations like to keep their places warm feeling? Simple solution is just take your food back home lol The guy at the cash register was very nice and offered mixing spinach with zucchini when i couldn't pick between the two options. He brought us out some cookies while we waited along side our drinks. I got the ensalada and Jamaica. I preferred the ensalada as it was a little less sweet. I did want their empanadas with custard filling but they didn't have any My husband got the chicharron pupusas and i got the revueltas. I enjoyed both and honestly you can never go wrong with the mixed. To take home we added some zucchini and spinach ones and honestly those were a great add on with the revueltas. I did find their cortido to fuck me up a bit with all the spices, but I'm just sensitive to that sort of stuff so if you have some sensitivity issues with spices beware! The tomato sauce was good, I'm not sure if they have a spicy version but might be needed for some people. Other than that great place, the food wasn't too oily and the service was great. Also please make a mental note that the orders are made as they're ordered so it can take a minute for food to be ready. Order in advance if you're in a hurry!

No complaints there. BUT... there's something I saw that honestly threw me off. They bring curtido to the table in a jar (cool, no problem), but when we were done, I noticed they take whatever is left and dump it back into a big container in the back to reuse. That means it's basically being shared between multiple tables. I'm not trying to be dramatic, but that's just not sanitary. Once food hits a table, it shouldn't be going back into circulation. It kind of kills the vibe knowing you might be eating something that's been on someone else's table already. If they fixed that, this place would easily be a 4 or even 5 star spot. The food deserves it, but cleanliness matters too. Just being real.

These are delicious! My order: 3 Beans, Cheese, and Jalapeño 2 Beans, Cheese, and Loroco 1 Cucumber Limon Agua Fresca Although the Pupusa is made a little different than what I'm used to, and what I mean is, it looks like two halves of masa are joined together with a filling in the middle. Usually you're not able to see a division in the side, but even so, they were still delicious. I liked that they were a little crispy along the edges and the beans were very creamy and not dry. I didn't see or taste any cheese, but I do think it was there. The portion size of the pupusa is decent. I've had bigger ones (that's what she said), but I'd put these in the medium-sized category. Actually, one was enough to make me full. The prices are better than most places, especially with everything increasing in price these days. $3.75/pupusa is actually a decent price compared to other establishments that I've been to in the area. The red salsa (mild) has so much flavor. Usually the red salsa is a less flavorful, watered down version, but OMG, I can drink the sauce by itself it's that good! I also asked for the hot sauce, but I'm going to have to see what my son thinks about it cuz I'm a wimp when it comes to hot stuff. The Curtido is fresh, crunchy, and nicely pickled/fermented. Not overpowering, but just enough that you can taste it. Latest Health Inspection: 12/9/24 Grade: 95 A Only issue I had was with the Cucumber Limon Agua Fresca. It had a sparkling water/soda fizzy thing going on. I hope it wasn't expired or spoiled, but I've never had an Agua Fresca that tasted like it was sparkling (no stars were deducted). Not a fan. Yuck. I placed the order through delivery, so I don't know about the ambiance of the place. They can be found on all major 3rd party delivery apps, except GH. Next time I'd like to try their sweet Crepes. I didn't see Plantano/Plantain or Empanada on the menu, but that would be something I would also like to order in the future.
