This is probably the best fast food chicken place there is in the DFW I've been to another pollo campero and the same quality was given. Get it grilled fried or crispy and its still juicy either way ! I can't find plantains and yuca like this anywhere so I'm glad they offer these as sides for a good amount for the price. I had visited PC several years ago when they were new to DFW, and while I thought the food was OK, it did seem overpriced. Fast forward a few years, and I receive a mailer advertising a "grand reopening". I swung by during lunch the next day, and ordered an extra crunchy meal. I was told they don't normally have this ready to serve (which seemed strange) and that it would take 15 minutes to prepare. I didn't have time during lunch, but I made a mental note and would come back to support a business near my home. So I did. I had the time a few days later and I made it a point to go back to PC-- what can I say? I love fried chicken. This time I ordered a three piece meal extra crunchy, and when the person operating the register mentioned the wait, his tone made it clear that they did not want to mess with it. I should point out that it was not busy at this time--approximately 1:30 PM. I made a mental note of the time, then began to catch up on some work that I had brought with me. I was busy doing that when I glanced up and noticed it had been 25 minutes. I walked up to the counter, and a different person immediately knew why I was there. Without speaking to me, he handed me my order. Kind of rude, but whatever. I should point out that when I ordered, no one asked if I preferred white, dark, or combination. Perhaps it's just that if you don't specify they default all dark-I don't know, since they had little interest in speaking to me. I went to Pollo Campero and ordered the 4 piece fried special. I would of gotten the grilled but they didn't have any. Also one of the pieces was literally all bone and no chicken I probably would've gotten more chicken out of a chicken nugget! My first experience here was exceptional, pulled in for the first time by the fried chicken week special. I had a dark meat personal meal with campero beans, and found the fried chicken to be worthy of my top tier ever tasted, a short and exclusive list. The skin was crisp, and the inside was moist and flavorful, pairing for an overall heavenly fried chicken tasting-consumption experience. The location-space was shiny and new, and all the employees were friendly and helpful, even proactive to a point where they brought me a lid for my drink before I left. There are no locations within several miles of my house, so next time I drive by a Campero with an empty tummy tank, I will likely be drawn in for a taste of this fried chicken from heaven. read more

Saw a huge billboard advertising spicy sandwich. Drove from downtown to go try it at this location. Problems is they aren't participating in that item?! On top of it their registers had gone down and were only accepting cash. How are you going to put up a HUGE billboard of an item not every restaurant in your market has? I tried this restaurant at Webb Chappell in the evening and ordered the same half chicken special I had enjoyed but the breast is missing. The attendant said the menu has changed early this year that the half chicken special is now 4 pieces without the breast. But the restaurant at Arlington serve the breast for the same price of the special of 9.75. Just because I don't understand Spanish quite well I think what their doing here is to save the big pieces when the restaurant closes near and take them home to their families. I'll never come back here again. The one In Arlington near the Parks mall is much much better. read more

This place Pollo Campero in Dallas off Hwy 30 and loop 12, chicken is good but the customer SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. We got the order with wrong and missing items. Was excited to hear that a Pollo Campero was opening here. This chicken is world famous. Unfortunately, I was disappointed the first couple of visits. I don't know if it's typical, but the chicken was extremely dry. The flavor was good, but it wasn't possible to get over how tough and dry it was to enjoy the flavor. So far so good, I haven't tried the chicken yet but It tried the Peruvian verde n Latin empanada which were crispy n had a good flavor. The plantains were very tasty n the Yucca root fries have a similar taste to regular fries although slightly different. Thick cut, crispy outside n soft inside deffinately liked them. I usually go to the drive thru after work around 8:30 pm and they're never busy which is a plus. The chicken is very flavorful and I love it! The only reason I gave 3 stars is they have forgotten something from my order 3 times out of 5. I would understand if they are crazy busy but usually just one or 2 cars in the drive thru. Annoying to get home to find out half of your sides aren't in the bag. read more
