Order my 2 3 piece meals and one drink, wasn't a issue..... Then I asked could i get a large cup of ice water..... This is were i have the issue, i was told that it would be over 2 dollars for this water.......wtf?? Remember with another dollar and some change i could buy a case of water. It all started one summer night with a craving at a late hour. Looking at limited delivery options, I came upon Williams chicken open late. I was a little skeptical but something about warm mashed potatoes, white gravy and some strips sounded like it would hit the spot. So you do have to wait in line a little bit. They're a little stand alone, and I imagine they get a lot of DoorDash and Postmates orders, since that's how I usually order from them. But yesterday my son and I decided to go through the drive-through. He is a hot wing connoisseur, and I told him that these were so amazing and crunchy and delicious, it was definitely worth the drive through wait. I should've gotten the names of the crewmembers who helped us, because they were so friendly and amazing and funny. If people are comparing Williams chicken to Popeyes or Churches or some of those other big chains, yeah they will probably have some whiny gripes because they are entitled and accustomed to those corporate conglomerate services. But the chicken at Williams is so delicious, and so incredibly low priced, and the crewmembers are so fun and friendly, I would wait an hour for those damn wings. Hot fresh crispy juicy flavorful and a good price for the family. Spicy rice should just be called dirty rice and it's delicious, I want more corn bites and the potato salad is on point. I wish they gave butter with the bread but definitely add some butter and heat it up and it's perfect. The chicken skin is not soggy like at KFC. And the spice is perfect all the way down to the bone. I had thighs and legs but I feel like even the breast will be delicious. I prefer dark meat though. It's near where I live and it's on doordash for convenience. It doesn't even need hot sauce! I'll be back to try more items on the menu. This was my first time eating William's chicken and I will not return back. We went on a Wednesday night because i really wanted fried chicken. We ordered fried chicken, fries, and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes and fries had no seasoning at all and the chicken was super bland but it was fried hard like I like. I didn't like that the wing had half of the breast with it. I hate big chicken wings. The one star is because the guy working the drive thru window was very friendly and since this was our first time he explained everything to us and let us know what they had. I must admit, I tried hard to avoid eating Williams for years. I had heard horror stories of the grease. Then Dave Chappelle informed me I was genetically inclined to like chicken. One day I noticed they moved into a location in Mesquite. Well this review is for the location near Fair Park. While living in the Fair Park area, I noticed that there are an abundant amount of chicken choices to choose from. Including another Williams less than a mile away. This location is busy with people standing out front at the order window from open to close, some time around 2 am I suppose. The chicken is so juicy and crunchy. Recently I discovered their hot wings, which are not buffalo style, but with a dry crispy batter that's very spicy. The wings taste like Razzoo's Wings from Hell. They taste like they've been marinated in Tabasco. Each time I get them, my chest burns for an hour or two. Why don't other chicken joints have corn fritters? Cream corn dipped in batter and fried in some type of animal fat, or maybe vegetable oil. This is State Fair of Texas food, ALL YEAR ROUND. Williams has a monopoly on this item. I could live off their sweet gooeyness. They have dinner rolls here, wish they had some sweet cornbread though. The establishment itself is very tiny, no dining room included at this location and you'll have to hand your money thru rusty bars at the drive thru window. Oh and the wait is about the same as at a Whataburger, so give about 7-10 mins from order to pickup. Not sure of why this is, since the food is not cooked to order here. People watching is available here, from the guy who carries a wash bucket wanting to do your windows to the bum fights, it's entertainment while you wait. read more

I visited this location today. I am so sorry I did. 1st issue: I approached the drive thru window and a heavy set guy (manager) asked to take my order. I gave him my order but as I gave him my order, I noticed he had large amounts of sweat dripping from his face and the collar of his neck was super wet. I tried to overlook it, but once he gave me my drinks all I could think about was his sweat possibly dripping into my cup, so needless to say, I didn't drink my drink. 2nd issue: I waited for 35 minutes on (3) 6-piece gizzard meals and a 3pc dark and once I received the food, all the food was cold. Another male employee who worked there, stayed outside the building more than inside, entertaining addicts outside. I asked him what was taking so long on my food and he told me, my order is the order he was about to fix. I asked him to wash his hands and fix my food because I'd been waiting for over 30 minutes. 3rd issue: After having them to remake the fries and we kept the cold gizzards and lukewarm chicken, my family and I left. We ate the chicken in the car while traveling home, only for my son to drink all this drink and find 3 baby roaches at the bottom of his sweet tea. Food (***** out of *****); This is bar none the best fried chicken there is but ONLY at THIS Williams location. I've been to a Carrollton Williams location and the meat was dry. However, this Williams serves up some of the juiciest fried chicken I've EVER eaten. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Mmm, mmm, good! (slurp! sorry, I drooled a little jes' thinkin' bout it!). I disagree with the other reviewer, Marvin L, about the chicken not being made when you order it. They've always served me chicken that's just been plucked off the fryer. Pipin' hot! Do arrive early because for some odd reason, this location is always running out of stuff. One of my faves is an off menu item unique to this location, the chicken sandwich. For about $2 (sorry, I forget the exact price), you get a huge piece of real chicken breast meat (not the Mickey D's pink slime fake meat) in a bun. They run out of this fast, so be sure to go when they first open for lunch if you want a chicken sandwich. Atmosphere (* out of *****); I also disagree with Marvin about the bum fights. The manager is pretty good about chasing away the bums. Also, if there's a drive through, I'm not aware of it. I've always just walked out of my car and stood in line with everyone else in the elements to order the fried chicken. You slip money into a little slot and magically, chicken slides out 10-15 minutes later (they need to cook the chicken). Service (*** out of *****); fast food, carry out only. Conclusion; This is how fried chicken should be; greasy, juicy, hot, and crispy! I snuck in some extra stars for value. Don't give the bums any money. The manager will get mad at you because that encourages the bums to hang around the joint. I eat here all the time. It is perfectly safe here, but just remember to use a bit of common sense; pay attention to your surroundings, smile and say, "hi" to people. Don't ignore the bums or they will hover around you. So today at 2:30 on the 3rd of Feb i proceeded through the drive thru to then have a lady in the drive thru was soooooooo rude she asked me to repeat my order as i started she would cut me off.She then told me to park after trying to over charge me 4 times.So i walked to the window so she would not have to look for my car.Im at the window and she opens the window looking for a customer but looking at me.So i asked her was that my order and she says i told you to stay in your car i said mam i was saving you a walk and she asked another customer what happen to him at the other Williams then tells me here your order is. I ask for my money back and she says you not getting shit back. Another worker stepped in to give me my money back at the same time telling her you cant talk to the customers that way.She continued using profanity at me as the other employee gave me my money back. later I tried calling the store to report this to the store manager and the same lady answers the phone and would not tell me any info about the store manager and then says im the manager. Terrible. If I could give it a negative star I look would. The paint on the outside was great. After that, all downhill from there. Cant order until you pull up to the window. OK, if you can keep up. But everyone including me had to "pull up and wait". Myself, for a simple 3pc dark and fries. OK whatever. Waiting, waiting, nothing. Guy next to me comes back with food from the walk-up window. Tells me he got a 2 PC dark. So they totally forgot about me even though she kept walking by my vehicle while delivering food to others.
