Too bad you can't smell a photo bc YUCK!

I went to this place and ordered two chicken meals, one regular, one order was grilled. There was PLENTY of chicken made and available but somehow I had to wait over 50 mins for my meal. I spent $35+ and was told I had to wait 20 mins (for what I don't know but that seemed reasonably). After 30 mins I asked where my food was and the people behind the counter were beyond rude and said it takes 10 minutes to box and prepare meanwhile chicken was laying right in front of me and about 10 people came in after me and left right away. I can't help but feel that this is because I look like I'm white; everyone who came and left looked Hispanic. I left legit a hour later with mediocre food and the girl at the front didn't even say sorry for the wait or anything for that matter; she handed me my bag and kept it pushing. There were about 7 people working, one who was in the parking lot when I first got there and basically jumped in front of my car telling me not to drive a certain way meanwhile the parking lot is a one way and he stood in front of my car until I turned around and drove towards on coming traffic. The overall facility was in deplorable conditions, it smelled like dirty diaper and feces by the drinks. The bathroom was out of order ( I waited 45 mins and couldn't use the bathroom) and there was also a pregnant woman trying to dine in who couldn't even use the bathroom. The tables were FILTHY and there were 7 employees there literally walking past all the garbage, mind you it's 7pm and they don't close until 10pm? This place was complete trash and I waited bc I was so hungry and just paid 35$+ and didn't want to have to go through the process of going elsewhere which I regret. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worse enemy, I will never go to this establishment for as long as I live. I've been to this location only and been here two other times previously and the experience was just as bad but this was next level trash.

I want to thank Pollo Campero for supporting us during our filming project in Brentwood, NY.

Fry's are stringy and weak. Cole slaw taste like glue. Chicken is good. I wouldn't order again.

The chicken is too salty and the bread is stale. I'm sorry I just don't know how they're still open.

Juicy, flavorful, crunchy, latin spices, tasty side dishes. I love this place, aside from the dirty looks that other customers give.

Beans had little taste. the beaf soup of which I loved was a big disappointment no flavor . In fact I usually finish right down to the last drop. Not today! No taste. Meat seemed to be taste less and not as lean as typically had. Maybe its this bowl but wife commented also . The cilantro seemed to have more parsley than cilantro. The liquid in it seems water down. But the real shocker was the price. Granted, a sizeable portion, but doesn't account for no flavor. Most locals frequently come here so they may not notice the gradual changes. But I returned to NY after 10 years. So I immediately noticed the difference. We use to eat here a minimum of 2x a week. And had many of their dishes. Today our waitress of 20 years working here recognized us. As frequent customers. Well wait a while and try again but I can assure you it won't change. It becomes economics . At 26 bucks for a breadded steak from 13 bucks . Ps change your prices we find on Yelp. Typical platter is still posted as $ 10.25 now 26 bucks

Sadly i will say that the curtido and salsa de tomate which is the most important side dish of the pupusas, were both tasteless, no salt. The curtido had no carrots or onions, no oregano, plus to make curtido. The cabagge has to be prepared well ahead of time so that it actually absorbs the vinegar, salt and oregano flavor. The watery tomato sauce, zero taste. My wife did not like the cheese and loroco pupusas, they had no color coming from the flat grill, cheese was ok, the dough in the pupusas was slightly thicker than what i like. But they definitely needed more color. The chicken tamal had some chick peas but no potato and a little piece of chicken but the masa had a lot of taste. The yuca chunks were fried too much but the pork was tasty, crispy and tender. They offered us a green sauce, which was just ok. All the food lacked flavor, having just visited my family in San Salvador, i knew it was not going to be a great experience but i had high hopes. Tamal de elote while it was a home made product, the corn was not sweet and when they presented it on the plate, it was already unwrapped. So i doubt they wrap them inside the corn husks, which may be the reason why it was crumbling on the plate. Dod not have bad taste but it was not great and the crema was very thick. I couldn't get the savory experience that tamles con crema usually deliver.

I would suggest the pupusas with pork and cheese and bean and cheese. Be sure to call ahead as sometimes it can be a 15-30 minute wait because they're prepared fresh. I also recommend trying it with the green sauce that they make themselves. Every time I visit I wish I try something else because the food looks and smells good but I'm usually running in quickly to grab pupusas. Hopefully I can venture out into other menu options
