They have 30+ different empanadas each one better than the last. I've been going there for a few years now and their empanadas might just be my favorite food--so much so I will even have them at my wedding. Their sauces are also incredible try the garlic sauce and I promise--you will not be disappointed. Also--desert empanadas something I've never heard of are unbelievable. I had to double check that this was the correct place I was reviewing because of all the great reviews posted about this place. We were so excited to try this restaurant because of the almost 5 stars it had. I told my husband order a couple of different thing so we could try them. My mom ordered the Cuban sandwich, she hasn't had in since the 90's at the la cubanita in Brentwood where they were made perfectly. This half a "real Cuban sandwich " was not good at all. The empanadas were overcooked and definitely not fresh. The beef and onions tasted like pure onion. Just like Lipton onion soup mix. He ordered some type of meat with red peppers, weird flavor. Ordered a good amount of empanadas here when I was having some family over. Figured I'd give it a try since the reviews were good. We got an assortment of flavors and they all tasted great. There were a good amount of dipping sauces to go with them also. Only knock I have is that the Facebook page has a picture of the menu that's outdated now. So, I can't believe after all this time I haven't reviewed this place. Years ago I was lucky enough to date this girl, not because she was particularly wonderful, but because she lived just down the road from a place that had over 20 empanadas every day! Eat*cetera has rotating and changing empanadas and hot food daily, they've got a few tables, a few games, a few books, and a ping pong table to boot. (I've only used it twice over the years because I get my butt kicked) Anyway I wound up getting a job in the area and used to make this a monthly stop, I got three coworkers hooked and lost my job, it's in a spot that's easy to overlook but I highly recommend you check them out! Ive had some great empanadas and some poor ones, they've left one or two out of a 20 pack in the past so you do need to just double check. So glad I discovered this hidden gem thanks to a friend! This place serves delicious Latin American food! You can eat and also play games of ping pong, chess, checkers and table top soccer. It's a small eatery with only a handful of tables but well worth the visit. I tried the house sampler thanks to some Yelpers photos and it was incredible! Its been a few years since I reviewed Eatcetera, but I've been here every single week since that first visit. They are serving up the best empanadas on Long Island. And one of the best cuban sandwiches as well. If you pop in during lunch, you can order hot plates with many of the offerings from the empanadas menu. Some of my favorite chicken options: the chicken Pecorino (new, very good), Chix de la Casa, chicken basil, chicken Alfredo, chicken chipotle and chicken diablo. If you want something different from your everyday delicatessen then this is the place . Fresh drinks daily so order the mango before it sells out . Not much seating but great for a grab and go. In my extensive travel and dining experiences over this past year I have found this gem of Latin American food in the most unlikely of places. My journey to find delicious food draws many parallels to the story of middle earth, and how when it was under threat from the forces of evil, Bilbo Baggins rose to the occasion when there all others had failed. My quest from La Guardia to the outskirts of Ronkonkoma crossed the great food desert of Interstate 495 which was littered with pizza shops and deli counters. However, when all hope seemed to be lost, Eatcetera rose from the shadows as a shining beacon to save my taste buds. My boyfriend and I were driving around the area and both getting hungry. I yelped food places and stumbled upon this location with great reviews. Figured we might as well give it a shot and we did not regret it! Boyfriend ordered the empanada combo (I think it was 5 empanadas for $6) and he said they tasted great. I ordered the Chicken Jackass (I think that's what it was called - I didn't see it on the menu so I showed the guy a photo off yelp LOL) and that was good; very filling. I also ordered the horchata drink which was delicious. You can taste the rice in it! Boyfriend also ordered tostones and the guy had sprinkled garlic on it (we've never seen this before and it was really yummy). He said that's how they do it in Venezuela. YUM. FANTASTIC!!! Had lunch here today on a suggestion from my buddy and I was blown away. The empanadas were great, the arepas were delicious and the Cuban sandwich was one of the best I've had. I tried the smoked sausage empanada, the hot chorizo empanada and the habanero chicken empanada and I couldn't decide which one I liked better. For the arepa's we did mozzarella with pork. Love going to this place!! Mike (Who runs the place) is a great guy and treats all of his customers great. he makes sure you everything is okay when you are there. I like coming here because there is so much to do while you wait for your food. Theres ping pong, foosball, chess checkers, dominoes and some books. It is always a good vibe being there plus the food is delicious. You can get sandwiches, rice plates with pernil or chicken. everything is delicious. Today i ordered the havana sandwich which had pork shoulder and avocado with a side of rice beans. My mother ordered the crunch wrap supreme, like the taco bell crunchwrap but 10x better.both plates were delicious.
