If you're thinking about getting a gift certificate from here I would ask what the policy is. I was…read moregiven a gift certificate from a friend for my birthday that expired a week after it was given to me and didn't know that when I went to use it in November. They didn't tell me it was expired while I was there, let me use half of it, then crossed out the expiration date and made it a date in expire 10/30/25. I was unaware they back-dated it because I was in a hurry to put it in my pocket since I was in rush. Fast forward to today, I went to use it and obviously it wasn't honored because of that new date. I understand that it expired and of course I'm fine not using it since it's completely my fault. It was just the most bizarre experience because 1. No one mentioned it was expired the first time I was there (which I would have been fine paying for my pedicure if someone explained that to me instead writing in a new date so couldn't use it again) Also I'm just not sure why they would give me back a gift certificate that I can't use anymore or never mention that it was expired. 2. What kind of place has a 1 week or 1 month expiration date? (Thinking about it I'm wondering if it the date a typo since it was handwritten because most places around here have a 1 year expiration date when I buy them or am gifted them.) Also my nails were different lengths and the polish I used developed white spots on top (it was a light purple) With so many wonderful places in Montclair, I would definitely consider buying a gift certificate somewhere else with a longer expiration date, a more clear policy, or somewhere that will take the time to explain these dates and policies if you have an issue like I did if you are looking to purchase a gift.

I've walked in on several occasions without an appointment and they've almost always been able to accommodate me. While I don't recommend this, however, it speaks to their customer service. Overall, the place is great and I keep returning because the quality of service is consistently high.

They are definitely on the expensive side, but it is almost to be expected for a salon on Bloomfield Avenue in the heart of Montclair. They do not at all rush through their work. The salon is small, cozy and aesthetically pleasing. They have a no cell phone policy which helps keep the vibe there peaceful and relaxing. I suggest making an appointment to cut down on wait time.

I am new to the area (moved back to Jersey from DC) and my nails are literally sooooo important to me so finding a new nail salon that can meet my needs isn't an easy task because I ask for and expect a lot (& of course am willing to pay for it) and finding a salon who can meet the challenge has proven difficult in the past. I researched salons on Yelp and believe it or not didn't even come across Elite. I honestly happened to stumble upon it when I decided to go to the 7-11 in the same complex and upon entering immediately got a great vibe just from the decor, ambiance and how friendly and accommodating the owner Chelsea was. I explained exactly what I wanted / needed and she assured me they could meet my needs and made an appointment for me the next day. When I arrived the next day Chelsea remembered my name and immediately got me seated for my gel pedicure and acrylic removal. There were 2 lovely technicians working on my pedicure and acrylic removal simultaneously to make the best use of time. My pedicure was AMAZING! The tech took her time and was very gently yet thorough throughout the entire pedicure and my chrome gel polish wound up looking PERFECT! Next I was seated with Marisol who spent the next few hours removing the rest of the acrylic, applying new gel extensions, applying and shaping the gel precisely , selecting colors and gems to duplicate the photos of designs I wanted and putting the biggest smile on my face with the finished product as it was IMMACULATE PERFECTION !!! Honestly the best set I've ever had in my life and life been getting my nails done for over 30 years. I have found my new nail home and I'm so thankful to have done so on the first try. THANK YOU Marisol, Chelsea and the entire Elite Nailed It team! I will see you again soon!
