Food excellent. Service good. Ambiance is quiet family style. Highly recommended. Gołąbkis are delicious.

    Delicious paczki.

Delicious! Totally worth it to drive out there this morning to pick up handful of paczki to take home and share. I think they only have one kind of paczki, with a fruit filling, and it was very good. I'll definitely go back.

Great food and staff was friendly. Stopped in for a change of pace. Haven't been to a Polish restaurant in sometime. Nice treat.

I was saving my 700th Yelp review for someplace special. And it doesn't get more special than this. Polish Paczki Cafe is the REAL DEAL for authentic, homemade Polish food. Based on experience with my Polish mother-in-law's traditional cooking, I'm confident there are actual Polish babcias doing the cooking! We stopped for lunch recently and shared the stuffed cabbage rolls garnished with fresh dill, pierogi (potato-cheese and sauerkraut-mushroom) and paczki for dessert. The large cabbage rolls came with a side of really good mashed potato. The pierogi dough was thin and tender, fillings were delish. Everything came out screaming hot and left us stuffed. Better than my mother-in-law's. Yep, I said it. ;). Bonus: they had chilled compote as a drink selection in their cold case which hubby loved. It's a mixture of various dried fruits stewed with mulling type spices. The small, spiffy clean place was pretty busy at an off time (Sat 2pm). We walked in down a little hall lined with at least 15 feet long of tables holding all kinds of yummy, Polish pastries packaged for quick pickups. As soon as the woman behind the counter spied my husband's obvious Polish face, she immediately spoke Polish to greet us and got us settled at a table. Another super nice Polish woman took our orders and chatted a bit. She told us the paczki are fried fresh so she would watch and when we were closer to being done with our entrees, she'd tell the kitchen to make ours so it would be hot. The spectacular dessert came and was devoured. Paczki: think jelly filled donut but not as sweet. Our lovely server put a couple additional, equally spectacular pastry samples on the plate: a babka and szarlotka (apple tart). Mmmm While we ate, there were a few other full tables of happy dinners and a STEADY flow of people popping in to snag boxes of pastries or wait for boxes of fresh paczki to go. There were a few regulars who popped in for carryouts - one Dad with his child who got extra attention and a little squeeze from our server. You want comfort? Come here!

I've been a customer of almost 10 years and have been obsessed since they first opened their doors at a different location. I literally live an hour away without traffic and even longer with traffic, but I make sure to stop by or send someone else to get it for me at least once a month or more. I love the amazing cakes that are so delicious and unique but on top of that, it is Asian owned, LGBTQ supporting, etc. A lot has changed since their little storefront with no seating. The bakery is now a full on cafe and I'm so happy to see how much they've grown and how successful they are. And while it is glorious, I will say I miss the sweet neighborhood charm and great customer service it used to have. Getting in touch with the bakery through phone or text can be tough and to be honest, sometimes one of the people working there is kind of...very mean. It had me questioning if I should keep coming back. I just love this bakery so much though and being raised by parents that had a small food business, I can't help but want to support. I had a particularly difficult last minute request for the bakery a few weeks ago and I was reminded why this place is so great. It had been YEARS since I made this specific request, which was an order for a slice of cake for every flavor and a cupcake for every flavor. This is a BIG and time consuming request, especially if it's last minute. Unfortunately I come to the city whenever the traffic isn't atrocious, so it's always last minute. Dom absolutely pulled through though. Even though there were other employees there (I saw two others but one disappeared and then another male was kind of walking around the cafe and such), Dom took this giant request and fulfilled it himself. The other gentleman (not the mean person previously mentioned) was actually who I made the request to, but he told Dom to do it. I was kind of confused why they didn't do it together but idk, maybe the other guy isn't allowed to handle food? Who knows. Regardless, this request obviously took a long time and the line was getting longer; people were getting a little restless but Dom stayed calm but was swift. I swear he was moving faster than most people in the industry could with a cake knife like that. He was not impatient or rude to me at all. He was just there to do his job as fast and well as possible. It's so rare to see that type of work ethic. He is also so obviously proud of the bakery and the food they serve which makes you feel good about being a patron there. So although I continue to have an unpleasant experience with one particular employee there, Dom keeps my love for this bakery alive. He reminds me of what this bakery was like when they first opened their doors. I hope Dom is cherished there and I bet he is considering his work ethic. I will continue to support this bakery and I recommend everyone else to support as well. It may not be that small little shop anymore but Dom is a reminder of the heart of the place.

At 1201am, I was able to secure a table for 4. We have been to majority of award winning Filipino restaurants in the USA. When Kasama received its 2 Michelin star 2 years in a row, we had to make sure that we dine here. Paying for Filipino food is usually cheap, but this place is totally worth it. Many of us Filipinos are very critical when we eat at Filipino restaurants because we always say my mom or aunt cooks the dish so much better. The 13-14 course meal was perfect from start to finish. The right amount of food on each dish and well thought of. @kasamachicago First Filipino 2 Star Our favorite dishes - Sinigang Japanese fried mackerel, Kare Kare taco, Nilaga, and Pulutan with talaba & shrimp toast. Finishing the meal with multiple play on with popular Filipino dessert- turon and halo halo. But that truffle croissant is amazing it made up for not serving rice. Will need to go back to their bakery- which is one of the best in Chicago. Been to a lot of high end Filipino restaurants in the USA- Kasama is definitely the BEST!!! As a goodbye gift they sent us home with an amazing pastry. Congratulations for the 2 stars.

I initially wanted to get a dinner reservation, but wasn't able to snatch one up even a couple weeks in advance. Spontaneously, my friend and I decided to go for lunch a couple Sundays ago. The weather conditions weren't great as it was raining moderately. This probably deterred at least some people from lining up. I got there around 12 PM and waited for about an hour, which is still long, but not as horrific as I thought. I also ended up with the last breakfast sandwich ticket since the group in front of me decided it wasn't worth it to wait in line so they gave it to me. This basically was the sign for me to stay in line. The ordering process was pretty simple. We ordered at the counter and prayed that there would be seats opened. Initially, we made ourselves comfortable at the bar, but we were able to migrate to a table shortly after. Our drinks came out within a few minutes after ordering and our food came out within 10. 12 OZ OH, HOT YAM! - 6.85 Initially, this was the drink I ordered. However, I thought it was too sweet and didn't feel like the ube flavor was that strong. My friend liked it more than the drink she ordered, so we ended up swapping. ICED BLACK SESAME LATTE - 6.85 This was the drink I swapped for, and the iced version was perfectly refreshing and nutty. It also wasn't too sweet. I would prefer a roastier black sesame flavor, but this was good enough. LONGANISA, EGG, AND CHEESE SANDWICH - 12 The breakfast sandwich didn't love like it'd be anything special, but the bun was incredibly soft and fluffy, with a custard, soft egg. The longanisa was well-seasoned, with the sweet & savory flavors bursting after each bite. I can see why the breakfast sandwiches at Kasama are so popular. Would highly recommend if you're able to snatch one. PORK BELLY ADOBO - 19.50 This item is weekend only, so I had to try it! I also love a good adobo rice. Despite it being pork belly, it was surprisingly not too heavy or fatty. The poached egg mixed in made each bite creamier. The pickled vegetables and chopped scallions were a nice touch to add a bit of tang and aromatics. I did take home half of the rice bowl home to enjoy for breakfast the next day. While this was good, it was probably the weakest of the three food items we ordered. FILIPINO BREAKFAST - 19 +1 for combo (longanisa and tocino) My friend ordered this, which came with a serving each of longanisa and tocino, a bed of garlic rice, sunny side up egg, pickled vegetables, and garnish. I had a bit of both meats, and the tocino was definitely my favorite. It was juicy, a good mix of sweet and savory -- reminded me of the Cantonese BBQ pork belly. I would definitely order something with tocino upon future visit. This was a pricy lunch, but the food was good and tasted cleaner than I had expect. I had a great time trying brunch at Kasama and would love to visit for their dinner menu when I'm in Chicago again.

Let me tell you, it was all I hoped it could be and more. The storefront was pretty small with a few tables- between the size, hours, and popularity (they were only open a few days a week and closed at 2pm), I suspected that the shop sold out often. I went on a weekday and there was still a good selection of pastries left around 11am. The staff was super nice and helpful as I struggled to make a decision. They shared that the strawberry milk croissant was their bestseller, so I opted for that. It was filled with fresh strawberry mascarpone and fresh strawberry puree. Despite the croissant's decadent appearance, it was not at all too sweet. I'm not typically the biggest croissant fan (I know, I know, no one is perfect) but this pastry blew me away. The filling was super generous without overpowering the delicate dough, which was baked to crispy perfection. Sadly, I don't get to the area often, but I will 100% be back asap to try more of the menu. Run- don't walk to pay a visit!
