The worst soup I have ever had. Ever. Not even just ramen- soup in general. Super bad. Love the sushi here! Have both sat down and ordered out a few times with no problems. Just ordered tantanem ramen as a pick up order and holy cow. A quarter cup of broth. A hockey puck of overcooked and resolidified noodles. 3 pieces of bokchoy. Sitting here eating it like it's spaghetti and meat sauce. They also forgot our miso soup. Idk if the water wasn't working back in that kitchen or what. Tragic. Felt like absolutely no care was taken to prepare the order. Will not be ordering pickup from them again.

Truly a gem! Always had a great experience here and was seated right away when they opened. The service is quick. Ambiance is casual but you can also dress up. Food is phenomenal. Never had a mediocre sushi here, every roll I've tried has been delicious. The sushi is presented in a vibrant dish with many specialty rolls that you won't be able to find anywhere else. Parking is all street parking which can sometimes make it difficult.

I would deduct half a star for cleanliness. The place had bugs and the tables were a little dusty. But the sushis were amazing! It was packed on a Monday evening and also, they had a lot of online orders. So, the service could be a little slow but I wouldn't blame them. Sushi's we tried: Lox: 5/5 my favorite Philadelphia sushi with smoked salmon: 5/5 Shrimp tempura, spicy salmon and sweet potato: 5/5 Mango maki: 3/5 would skip this next time. Pan seared chicken dumpling: 5/5 Kimchi fried rice: 2/5 had hardly any flavor. Under seasoned I got the hot sake to drink and it was pretty good however my wife's cocktail Juniper dreams was tasteless, watered down and very less quantity for the price.

Checked out this spot for a celebratory dinner. A warm cozy place with ambient interior. This is not a big place but the people have big hearts so you don't feel it's crowded. Got seats at the bar. Bartender was very nice and kind. We spoke about everything under the Sun but never asked their name (my bad!). They also knew what to recommend. Their house Sake is amazing. Definitely worth a try if you are into sake. They have some nice cocktails too. The Peruvian Sour had a kick to it and got you alert for the sushi. The sushi was delicious. They have great sweet potato rolls. Warms you up from within. The Seoul boy roll was the winner of the night. It had everything in it and was an enjoyable journey to try it. Pablo Escolar roll was good but had way too much Mayonnaise in it in my opinion. Not for me but if you are someone who likes mayo on rice go for it! Their wasabi was perfect too. Nicely sliced ginger as well.

Glad I finally was able to stop in after driving by here every day to work! It's a nice addition to the South Wedge and I was quite pleased with my experience. Loved the atmosphere, there is a little bar with maybe 8 or so tables, many of which are 2 seaters. Nice lighting, background music and overall ambiance. I'm a sucker for the charm of the architecture in this neighborhood which lends itself to this restaurants very intimate cozy feel. Would be a great date night place, meal with a friend etc.. The rolls I had were delicious and beautifully prepared. I was very pleased and actually brought some home to my partner, as they were also pretty generously portioned. My gin based cocktail was both gorgeous and tasty, and also not a light pour, which I appreciate! There are a bunch of other menu items that piqued my interest-definitely a return visit in the future.

Firstly, huge shoutout to Shirelle, our bartender. She was an all-star. I had the Peruvian Sour and my brother, the Smokin' Aces. Both drinks were pleasant to the tongue and very well executed. Secondly, the food was phenomenal. I found myself requesting seconds of the miso soup (photo-attached) because of how much I enjoyed it. The spicy salmon roll I ordered was clean, fresh, and awesomely presented (photo-attached). The restaurant was clean, inviting, well lit, and decorations culturally relevant to the theme. All of the staff was friendly and extroverted, which made us super comfortable. To top it all off, the music was on point, y'all! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and definitely plan on returning to try more menu items and drinks. Hope to see you guys there!

The Chef's Special Sashimi platter that stole my heart

This place has become my go-to for sushi in the ROC. You'd think the small seating area would feel cramped and claustrophobic, but it actually lends itself well to a nice, intimate atmosphere. The chefs are working in the corner so you can watch them prep your masterpiece if you like. There's a large, full bar with flights of sake and Japanese whiskey, along with numerous cocktail offerings. I've never had anything that was less than fresh and beautifully prepared here One comment for winter dining: not sure if it was just an odd night when I was there but it doesn't seem to be very well-heated when the weather is cold. Might be on purpose due to the nature of the cuisine, but a lot of us were dining with our jackets still on to stay warm. If you like sushi, this is a must-try!

This was a surprise dinner spot ... and what a good find it was! I'm really picky about my sushi and Poke sushi didn't disappoint. Some awesome and interesting rolls! But don't get surprised that this isn't a poke bowl spot but is an awesome sushi spot. A very small place and only two sushi chefs so it takes time - but that's every good sushi place. If you like sushi and haven't been I definitely recommend!

Wow. Wish I had known about this place sooner. Gyoza - absolutely delicious. O'Ren roll - absolutely delicious. Black Mamba roll - absolutely delicious. The ambiance inside was nice and quaint, small. The only negative experience was the server was slow. We were never asked if we wanted another drink or if we needed anything, and it took longer than it should have to get the bill and get out of there. Delicious food though, I can't wait to come back and try some more of their options.

Sushi for 2

Highly recommend for sushi or a drink out! Very cute in the south wedge area. Our server, Gitau, was amazing and so helpful! The drinks were delicious and the bartender, Olivia, was very friendly. For 4 people we shared the sushi for 2 as well as dumplings and edamame. Potentially could have ordered more, but it was a good amount of food! The sushi chef, Tang, prepared a great chefs specialty roll and put our sushi in a boat which was a fun surprise! Looking forward to going back!

My first visit here, definitely will not be my last. We walked in, it is a small restaurant, very…read moreclean, simple, perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. The kitchen was spotless. The Chef was making our sushi in the front of the restaurant. Which is really important to me. A chef who doesn't hide his kitchen is confident in the quality of their food, and their cleanliness. I ordered 2 sushi rolls. I cannot remember which ones. But they were extremely fresh and tasty. I will think on it while typing and see if I remember. I have "Chemo Brain" so it hard. I know you're not supposed to have Sushi while on Chemo, but I have been craving it for weeks. I decided it was time for treat. My Dr told me yes, as long as I picked a top notch place. My husband is skeptical of sushi, so I ordered him shrimp fried rice, and Hibachi beef with veggies and rice. We ordered online, ahead of time while we were out running errands. We arrived early. We were graciously welcomed by both the Chef, and a very nice woman. We took it to go, and drove home. Super easy, and I think it is a husband and wife team. A very kind woman packed our bags. I was so happy that she put the Sushi In a separate bag, than the hot food. This might sounds simple, but it is a HUGE mistake that many restaurants make. I usually always get my sushi hot or salads wilted by steam when we order to go, so it was a nice treat, that care and common sense was used. The sushi was amazing. Ooh I remember now! lol. 1 of my dishes was a tempura roll, with Tuna on top, Avocado, and spicy sauce. The 2nd dish was similar, but made with real crab meat. It had something in it that gave it nice crunch. May have been tempura chips. My husband liked the shrimp fried rice, they chopped the shrimp up small, so at first he didn't see any. But he liked the flavors. He said it made the flavor more consistent. The Beef Hibachi dish, he said wasn't worth it. Too little beef. There were a lot of squash in the mixed veggies. He is not a squash fan. I helped him eat it and I liked it. But I can see that the portions are not "Big man" sized. Which I knew taking him there. But Japanese food is not usually pig out plates. It's nice healthy food. That's is what I wanted, and since I am sick, I got what I wanted. haha! He actually really enjoyed my Sushi. He didn't finish the shrimp fried rice, so he cooked up some chicken later that evening, and mixed it with the shrimp fried rice. we ate again as a 2nd meal. It was delicious. We both decided they have excellent sushi, one of the best places I've had in Rochester. We will be coming back again. We will probably stick with Sushi and maybe try their noodles. I think next time we will eat there. Even though we had some things we didn't care for. I did want to judge the menu, until we try more of it. It was touted on Google and Yelp as a sushi restaurant, not as a full service Japanese restaurant. As a result I am giving a pass on what we didn't like. Because what we did like was AMAZING.

Maybe it's been a while since I've been to a sushi restaurant versus pick up at Wegmans, but I was…read moreso impressed by the beautiful plating. I was awed and eager to eat it! I ordered the Tuna Flower app and the OMG roll. I tasted more of the different sauces rather than the fish itself but still all good. The OMG is stuffed with various different fish. The Plaza on the outside isn't much, but the inside is clean and the folks are very nice.
