Stopped at Poki One N Half for a quick little bite! I decided on the savory green tea rice ball and the spicy tuna rice ball. The savory green tea rice ball was a flavor I haven't seen/eaten before and I am so glad I got it because WOW it was delicious. Now, you might be wondering why the 3/5 stars were given when I absolutely loved the savory green tea rice ball. The spicy tuna rice ball was bland and not the least bit spicy. The structure of the rice ball wasn't great as the rice would consistantly fall out and was difficult to eat even after following the instructions on transparent paper. After eating my two rice balls, I was still wanting another savory green tea and so I decided to order one. The second one was super dry and had no flavor at all. The inconsistency really threw me off. Wished the flavor was consistent because that first savory green tea rice ball was amazing!

The poke was so good! We got one large and one small bowl - both loaded with protein and super delicious. The two girls at the counter were very friendly and welcoming. Thank you

Service was great, the girl making my order was friendly and patient while I was taking time with my order. I paid nearly $20 for my regular bowl. Poke didn't taste super fresh, but all the options look delicious. l loved picking out all my toppings ( which were complementary with the bowl). Overall, this experience made me very happy!

Had to stop coming here its all rice no filling

Work in mall and would get them all the time but past months theres no filling, wont be going back

I love getting poki one n half. I honestly think it's the best poke place in SoCal. This was the first time ordering at this location, I usually frequent the convoy location. I do have to say though, the location in convoy gives you a little more. I always get the same exact bowl: a large with the choice of 5 fish with white rice, mild, adding on all the toppings but it just looked way less for the same price. The fish doesn't look as fresh and the avocados were starting to brown but hey, I'm still alive! The seafood didn't smell fishy at all, everything was easy to order, the employees were friendly, and there's even a temperature check at the entrance. If you're at fashion valley and craving something that isn't fried or heavy, this is the spot for you!

Was pretty excited that this spot opened at the mall and I wasn't disappointed! Staff was super friendly and quick with my order. The whole process was swift and efficient and probably took less than 5 minutes from me waiting in line to paying for my meal. The fish here is fresh but it's just a tad overpriced for my liking, which is why I docked a star in my review. I understand each establishment is entitled to their own prices but for $11, you get two protein choices and it kind of seemed like the employees skimped out on the salmon I asked for :( aside from that, I had a pleasant experience!

I've been a fan of Poki One N Half since they opened their first chain here in SD and have been to most of their locations. So imagine how excited I was to see this chain in the food court of Fashion Valley Mall! Good price for all that you get. I got a small bowl with salmon and octopus, half rice, half salad and most all the toppings (love that they offer pineapple). Sauce I chose was spicy poke. By the time I was done eating , it's enough to feed two of me and I was done for the day. The staff there was soo friendly and efficient and got me in and out in no time at all. Will be my go to here!

BEST HAWAIIAN PLATES IN SD (3.5 stars)…read more The food is always legit here! And the serving size is quite generous. So why not use them for catering?! I threw my dog (yes, my dog) a birthday party at Pure Pawsh (about a mile down the street) and needed catering food I like that was close by and can serve ~15 humans. I ordered in advance maybe 10 days before the event on the 27th 1 medium tray of rice ($60) 1 medium tray of Hawaiian Mac salad ($60) 1 medium tray of Huli-Huli Chicken ($120) FYI, they won't deliver if you don't hit the $400 minimum. I got an email on 9/20 that my order for 9/2 (Tuesday) will be ready at Liberty Station. Sorry 9/2 was like 2 weeks ago. I've stated my event is on the 27th Sunday. What was difficult about my catering order? I went to the restaurant and the front staff helped me get everything situated. But that interaction was a little off too. I don't mean to be stereotypical but GenZ customer service is something else. It's 9/27, my pickup was for 11:15 (confirmed it vial email, called the restaurant 2x the day before and made sure all was set for hand off at 11:15). I showed up around 11:15 and called the restaurant (I'm parked illegally because there is no parking and they said it's fine to do because it's just a hand off). Well the hand off didn't get handed off until closer to 11:30. FOOD SIZE the medium trays are good for 12 people. I think I could have fed 15-20 comfortably. I'm going to say the rice and Mac salad were a bit too much in size and wish they had offerings for smaller portions because those sides are just fillers and. Body is eating big servings of each. I had so much left over of those two - I made a lot of fried rice from the left over rice BUT the Mac salad went to waste. Portions great, taste is great, and price is fair.

You seat yourself, walk to the counter to order, pay before you even sit down, get your own water, and clean your own table when you're finished. The only real "service" is someone walking your food from the kitchen to the table. Yet before you've received your food or experienced any service whatsoever, the payment screen has the nerve to ask for a 15% to 20% tip. A tip for what exactly? My outstanding performance as my own waiter and busser? I counted roughly seven employees: two working the counter, one bringing out food, one near the water station, possibly two cooks, and maybe one dishwasher. If the restaurant collects thousands in prepaid tips during a busy breakfast and lunch, is all that money actually being divided among those employees? There's absolutely no transparency. It honestly feels less like tipping the staff and more like tipping the owner. If the restaurant needs 15% to 20% more revenue, just raise the menu prices by that amount and be honest about it. Don't advertise one price, provide almost no table service, and then guilt customers into adding another 15% to 20% before they've even taken a bite. Food: okay. Service: mostly provided by me. Suggested tip: apparently still 15% to 20%. Update, the manager sent me a response that I should be happy someone happily took my order. Wow, the expectations at this place is off the chart low. I sent him a response below. It's honestly wild that I'm supposed to be "glad" someone took my order politely, answered a question, and showed me where to tap my card. That is basic counter service, not some extraordinary full-service dining experience deserving 15 to 20 percent of the entire bill. And comparing your tip prompt to Costco asking for a charitable donation might be the dumbest comparison possible. Costco asks whether you'd like to donate a few dollars to charity. They don't suggest handing over 15 to 20 percent of your grocery bill because the cashier smiled and showed you where to insert your card. And just because tip screens are popping up everywhere doesn't make them right. This is the first restaurant I've eaten at where you order and pay at the counter, tip before receiving any service, get your own water, and then clear your own table. Your setup is not the norm. If I took ten people there for lunch and explained the system beforehand, they'd laugh me out of the parking lot. In fact, I posted about your setup on Facebook, and practically every comment agreed it was ridiculous. I tagged you guys btw. Let's recap: I stood in line to order, paid and tipped before eating, got my own water, and cleared my own table. At some point I apparently worked a shift there. Where do I pick up my paycheck? That snide remark backfired quite a bit, don't you think?
