It's difficult sometimes to find a place where you can customize your plate enough to fit a specific eating plan. I haven't eaten at TG very many times, but it sounded like a good option. I had the grilled steak, with seasonal vegetables and the Mac n Cheese. It was very good, and I ended up having steak and mac left to use for another meal! I liked that seasonal veggies were unusual with the mushrooms and snap peas. And the Mac n Cheese was tasty, with the season breadcrumbs on top. It was a little pricey, but not too bad because it made another meal with added vegetables from home. It's a good treat every once in a while. read more

The fries took awhile to come out when we were halfway done with our food. Service was friendly. We ordered the grilled steak, salt and pepper chicken and grilled salmon plates which were all good. The steak was my favorite as it was nicely seasoned and tender. The salmon was tender but a little bland, and the chicken was also a little bland and dry. The mashed potatoes were creamy and moist and the roasted potatoes were tasty. The seasonal vegetables were on the plainer side but a good balance with the meats. The fries were also pretty plain but thick and slightly crispy. At first glance, I thought the portions were small but we were all full. Good quality and healthy ingredients. I've been to Tender Greens many times before and this is the best resturant that serves the best salad in San Diego. All of the vegetables are crispy fresh I never had any soggy salads dining in here. Just a heads up it's cashless... yes that means credit card payments only. Some of my all time favorite big salads are Harvest Salad (seasonal), chicken codd salads, and the build your own plate of steak. Too bad they got rid of the kale with Parmesan cheese that was my go to plate. I hope they bring it back because kale is healthy. Ooh the roasted tomato is also bomb!!!! I used to be a big fan of tender greens when it was only in liberty Station. Since then, I honestly haven't gotten much because I found that after the expansion, quality fell off a little bit. However, dinner last night at the tender greens on Camino del Rio North was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS AND FIRE! The restaurant was impeccably clean, service was fast, and the ambience was super chill. Beyond this, though, the food was awesome. 1. My wife ordered the grilled steak plate. Mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes came with it. Holy mother of our Lord, the steak was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The vegetables were out of this world and the mashed potatoes were killer. Don't have much more to say about it, but this is definitely what I'm going to be getting the next time I go. 2. I ordered the Posole Verde bowl. At $10, I wasn't expecting much, but the bowl was absolutely huge. Coming from a guy who always finishes his meal, it was so big. I could not finish it. The green sauce was thick and tasty without being spicy. It was overflowing with fresh shredded chicken and chicken breast pieces. I don't think I've ever had Posole Verde this good. Coupled with a side of cilantro lime brown rice, I was completely stuffed at the end of dinner. Definitely like Abuela used to make. 3. The last time I ordered the Longevity Bowl with Grilled Sea Bass from Tender Greens, it was so delicious. Unfortunately, this visit was nothing like that. We came in later in the evening, and the restaurant wasn't busy at all--very few people dining in or picking up takeout. Even with that, our order took forever to come out, which was surprising given how slow it was. When I finally got my Longevity Bowl, it was a huge letdown. The food was cold, several ingredients listed in the description were missing, and the sea bass portion was tiny for the price. For what you pay, it just didn't feel worth it at all. My boss wanted to eat here for lunch. My first-time here. They have a range of food for everyone. I ordered a burger and fries. The staff was helpful and friendly. Got a lot of food that night but only took a pic of mine. I got the Thai bowl with grilled steak - the dressing for the coleslaw was good and complimented the coconut on the rice but there were pieces of gristle in my steak that threw me off. We got an order of the falafel, super crispy and definitely needed the harissa sauce that came with it. The green chicken pozole just tasted like a thick bowl of green salsa verde. I placed an order worth over $100, and there delivery driver straight up stole my food! They were aware and when I called they stated oh it was the delivery driver but you can't notify me! When I contacted the restaurant, I didn't get an apology, concern, or even basic customer service. Instead, I was told I'd get an "e‑refund" -- not immediately, not with urgency, just whenever it processes. And the manager's response? "Oh, this typically happens." Excuse me? If this "typically happens," then why isn't the restaurant doing anything to fix it? Why are customers paying the price for your broken delivery system? Why can't you remake the order and offer better customer service! I was left with no food, no apology, and no real solution. Just a shrug and a delayed refund for a $100 order that never arrived. The cashier wasn't the friendliest, but maybe she just wasn't having a great day. Ordered a chicken plate and was able to find a place to sit and catch up! What a disappointment! With a name like Tender Greens, I expected some standard salads but thought you could also choose your own ingredients. I had the salmon salad. The salmon wasn't bad but the rest was over inundated with the dressing. My husband had the Italian Chop salad and the Italian meats were so hard that you couldn't chew it or cut it with a knife. The only service is when they take your order at the counter, give you a sign with a number and bring the dishes to the table. The woman who clears the plates is very kind and helpful. As for the ambiance, it is pleasant, but the music is very loud. It could use a renovation. The fact that there isn't a bathroom is also disconcerting. The chicken plate with 2 sides is a perfect portion for me. I like the mashed potatoes and salad. Sometimes the chicken is dry but still pretty good if you eat it with the gravy from the mashed potatoes. This spot is located at the Mission Valley Mall but it's on the outskirts of the mall so you don't have to walk into the mall to get here. I asked for butter; it never came, so I had to walk from outside tables and wait; she later brought it. Every single table was dirty, and it was dirty the night before when I dined there, too. So I told the waiter; he cleaned my table, but not any of the others. The steak was extremely salty and unhealthy. The beats salad was not fresh. The the greens drink was not serve in a to go glass, but in a 1 quart container. There was no straw. There were no condiments and no plasticware. There was no receipt attached to the order. I could not tell how much I was charged for the order. But the chicken, too dry. I typically like dark meat and they failed to ask me if I wanted dark meat vs light meat (thus I forgot to ask for it)...
