Let me just say--this is hands down the best rice ball I've ever had. I got the Cali Mix, which has tuna, salmon, and imitation crab. It was only $3.95, and I originally got it because I'm on a light diet. I could've gone with a bowl, but I decided to keep it simple and go with the rice ball. The flavor blew me away. Everything tasted super fresh, and the mix of proteins was perfect. I ended up going back and getting a second one right after. I also tried it with the fire poke sauce, which had a nice kick and a hint of ginger--so good. The customer service was great too. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place. Five stars, no question. Place is nice and clean. It is a little bit tough getting parking on the weekends, but totally were trying.
Recently got into poke, and honestly, there's no turning back. I've been to this location a few times now, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. I've even stayed to get some work done in the restaurant, which has a chill vibe. I usually go with the large bowl (4 scoops): 2 scoops of salmon, 1 tuna, and 1 Cali mix, then load it up with my favorite toppings. While I've had better poke elsewhere in San Diego, for a chain spot, this place definitely gets the job done.
This man brought in his non service dog and was Jumping on the counters multiple times! Instead of the employees asking him to leave the poor scared dog had to wait for the owner to order and pay. And then the other employee went and pet the dog and went back to making food, I was so grossed out I left without being able to finish my food

The girl who took my order was very nice; she let me take my time choosing! They have a good variety of proteins (what other place has scallops!!!!??!). The toppings were also very robust. I got a regular bowl with salmon, spicy tuna, and scallops and it was SO delicious. I'm out of the country now, but I'm still craving it. It might just be my first meal when I get back. The location was a little small and parking was hard to find, as you have to street park, but I think it's absolutely worth it. If you're considering poke for lunch, I recommend here! There's a bit of outside seating and indoor seating. If I had the time, I would've sat outside and just people watched. It's really pretty in that area and close to a lot of cute shops.

As I understand it, the amount of fix ins are the same between a small, medium, and large bowl, but the amount of scoops of fish is different. I wish this spot had a small with bowl with less fix ins that you can buy for less money, between $10-$12 seems reasonable. The amount of food I got for a small bowl was a ton and was more than I wanted, but had pretty good flavor. For the amount of sides and rice you get, the ratio of fish seems very small, so I'd check out this spot if you want less poke and more sides with your meal. Other than the food, the place itself was extremely loud. I wanted to eat it there, but had to eat it outside because it was just so loud.
My go to poke! Fish is very fresh. A lot of options for toppings. Is it authentic Hawaiian poke? No. But that's not why you come here. $18 now for a regular, still the same great taste but definitely increased in price. Worth having every once in a while. You still get the most bang for your buck here in terms of items you can get which makes it worth it. Lots of options to choose from, if you enjoy saucy sushi rolls, this will be a hit! Service was great, I was confused with ordering, they will let you know when it's your time to add stuff. Very clean inside with indoor seating. Whoa! Poki one N Half you are a total number 1! Came inside and was greeted right away by the friendly staff. Clean and good amount of seating. Fine in or take out option. Loved the options to choose from and was shocked no extra cost for avocado lol. Kid friendly with a menu of their own and miso soup option as a side or option too. My kiddo approved the octopus and imitation crab with salmon salad base. She added avocado, white and green onion and mild sauce. I went for the spicy tuna, scallops, and imitation crab. I did white rice as my base and added on avocado, seaweed salad, garlic crunch, seasoned seeds, spicy sauce, green onion and white onion with masago eggs. Delicious and definitely a great leading competitor in the Poki world! Also added in a ice cream macaron. Staff explained the flavors to the little one which was kind and awesome! read more

For those that's never been here, it's basically a Chipotle/Subway version of poke. You start with your base and you got down the assembly line until you pay. No extra charge on toppings, which is nice. Is this the best poke ever, no, but I do appreciate all the different toppings and they do not charge you extra if you ask for extra toppings like seaweed salad. Is it the best quality fish in the world, no, however this place is so busy that I'm positive that they do get fresh fish on the daily. I've always got good service here, so perhaps some of these other reviews are a bit sensitive. Also, this place is usually always busy, so perhaps they just want you to get your bowl and so they can serve the next 20 people in line! Parking is difficult due to the location, but does not affect the rating. Just know that's the case when coming to this location. read more

Stopped in for dinner with my partner. We were promptly greeted by the staff and they were all very friendly and helpful as we built our bowls, which we really appreciated! We got a small and a regular bowl. Both were portioned really well! All of the ingredients and toppings were fresh, and they even offered us extra sauce to add to our bowls later since we were taking them to go! We were pleasantly surprised to see that chickpeas were offered, since my partner is vegetarian and usually only has tofu as an option. We were very content with our bowls, as they were delicious, and the extra sauce was a nice touch. Highly recommend this spot if you are in the North Park area! Only downside is that you may have to drive around the block a couple times to find parking, but otherwise, great experience that is well worth it! read more

Pretty solid poke bowl, but very costly ($18). Service is pretty slow. Some of the toppings weren't as fresh as they should be (browning avocados and canned pineapple). I'm a huge fan of poke and wanted to try getting it completely vegetarian this time - I was so pleasantly surprised! Food: Ordered a small bowl that was plenty for one person. I got one scoop of regular tofu and one scoop spicy tofu. I got tons of toppings and I was skeptical how it would delivered since this was an uber eats order but everything came out perfectly! The food was fresh and nothing was missing. Service: fast and on time. The order was made precisely as requested without errors. Food: - Ingredients are surprisingly pretty fresh! - Generous portions. - The small bowl is surprisingly filling, so even if you're a big eater, recommend scaling down a size. Service: - Servers were polite, quick, and efficient. - Brought a friend who never had poké (poki?) before, servers were understanding and didn't give us attitude. Seating: - Indoor and outdoor. - Weather was great so we opted to sit outside, rolled down the umbrella on the table to get some sunlight. I was craving poke and decided to stop by Poki 1 1/2 since it appeared to be pretty popular with the locals and college students! I was able to try 4 different types of protein (scallops, salmon, tuna, cooked octopus), and they were all very fresh and solid! Wanted to give a shoutout to the juicy scallops and soft, chewy octopus. The brown rice was a little clumpy but the greens were fresh and clean. I always get the spicy mayo and ponzu sauce. Their ponzu wasn't as heavy on the soy sauce base but citrus flavors were definitely prominent. They also have a pretty standard selection of toppings such as seaweed salad, edamame, cucumbers, imitation crab meat, seaweed flakes, etc. I just wish they had masago! The staff added a couple pieces of meat after he accidentally dropped two pieces on the counter so I thought that was very nice of him!! First off, the staff is really friendly and great if you have any questions. Secondly, you can tell just from looking at the items, that everything is fresh (although the tofu looked a little weird). I got a 2 piece bowl and it was huge!! They fill it up for sure! I got the spicy tuna and octopus and there was no fishy taste, which I was thankful for. Whether you ate them separately or together, all the toppings I got were very flavorful and fresh. Will definitely be coming back as this has to be one of my favorite poke places! read more
