I never had poke so couldn't wait to try! When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and the place was busy. When it was my turn I ordered the shrimp tempura bowl, Korean friend chicken bowl, and honey Walnut shrimp with Zucchini noodles. For drinks I got the cranberry hibiscus tea and the bubble milk tea. It took about 10 minutes to get everything! I really loved the Korean chicken and the shrimp tempura. The honey Walnut shrimp was just ok! I loved the drinks as well! All in all I had a good experience!

Poke Crew in Closter, NJ. Poke bowl and Bubble Tea are an elite combo and you can get it at @eatpokecrew! Super fresh ingredients like ahi tuna and sushi grade salmon are added to veggies and rice to make a perfect healthy poke bowl! There are two locations one in Closter, NJ and Englewood, NJ so they got you covered! The fish is super fresh. The poke bowl varieties are endless but the premade poke bowls are delish too. I loved the homemade juices and really yum bubble tea. There is plenty of parking and seating inside-great place for a causal delish poke spot! Insta: @thehungrysw

Poke Crew was a delicious bowl! Huge flavors and quality tuna!

Just got a takeout dinner from Poke Crew. The food was ready before the estimated time and the worker was very pleasant. Since it was my first time and tuna is my preference, I went with the Poke Crew. I added a oolong plum tea. The poke bowl was outstanding! Great amount of tuna and a wide range of flavors and textures. Kept me going back for the next bite. The oolong plum tea was a great accompaniment. Will certainly be back!

I'm a huge fan of the Poke Crew location in Englewood, so I was super excited to hear that they opened up a second location in Closter. This spot is only a short drive away from Palisades Interstate Park (one of my fave local hiking spots in the area), so it was no brainer for me to stop by. What a tasty post-hike reward! This fast casual restaurant serves up a wide variety of signature poke bowls and DIY options to customize to your liking. I love that they experiment with different textures and flavors here - their creative fusion dishes like "The Philly" or "El Taco" manage to capture the essence of classic favorites (i.e. Philadelphia rolls for "The Philly" or Mexican themed for "El Taco") while spinning it into a tasty and balanced poke bowl. During my most recent visit, I wanted to try a DIY bowl and was surprised at all the different options that I could choose from. The bowl doesn't look like a ton at first, but is actually packed with fresh chunks of fish and generous amounts of colorful and vibrant toppings. I also tried their bubble tea and enjoyed it. I'm usually not a fan of bubble tea from shops that don't solely specialize in boba, but I really liked the soft and chewy tapioca here! Definitely would recommend as a sweet refresher on a hot day. Great spot overall. Love the clean, modern, and sleek interior, and service is always quick and efficient. I'll be back next time I'm in the area or hiking up here.

Really tasty food sushi is not the most expensive kind but it is flavorful and I really enjoyed eating their dishes.

My favorite thing here was the plum infused oolong tea. Yummy. We did the make your own poke. I chose shrimp and scallops as my protein. There were lots of good sized shrimp in my bowl...I think I should have gone with the spicy shoyu sauce. The regular shoyu was ok, but too bland for me.

Stopped in to try a poke bowl. Grabbed the Philly Poke and thought it was great. They prepared it quickly and it was delicious.

So I ordered the custom poke bowl with spicy tuna, spicy mayo, jalapenos, cilantro, brown rice, crispy tortillas, nori, crispy shallots, and red onions. All in all, the poke was fresh and well thought out. Make sure to ask for sauce on the side so you can determine how much sauce you want to put it. In terms of flavor profile, the spicy mayo drove most of the flavor. I think with poke, it's really about the freshness of the fish that drives quality. All in all a great meal! Cheers!

Solid Poke joint located in Closter Plaza. The menu is simple. You can pick from a list of preset poke bowls, or you can customize your own from scratch. I've tried the Double Dragon and The Crew. Both were delicious. Ingredients were fresh and the portion size is just right. Price is on the high side compared to other poke places. It starts at around $15 a bowl, but once you start adding extra toppings you'll quickly get into the $20 range.

My thai bowl came with moldy sprouts. Called to let them know- they said it was just the sauce. I didn't want a refund or a replacement bc I didn't have any intention of driving back. Thought I'd let them know so they didn't serve them to anyone else. This kind of stuff happens... be decent and take accountability.

Poke Crew is the only place I'd go for poke! I can always trust the quality of the food (especially raw fish) and the amazing team that works here! I created my own poke this time filled with all the ingredients I love! Instead of eating all the rice, I got half white sushi rice and half lettuce (which was a great choice!), white tuna and crab salad for the protein (generous portions too!), filled with edamame, cucumbers, inari, tamago, and red onions. For sauce I went with my favorites: yuzu kosho mayo and teriyaki, all topped with crispy shallots, nori, cashews, and sesame seeds! The bowl was very full and filling, all for a great price! I paired it with the freshly made iced tea fusion too :) This restaurant's location is conveniently located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. The interior is nicely decorated and clean as well. The owners are very friendly and I definitely felt comfortable getting take out here because they also wears gloves and masks. Definitely recommend!!

Poke Crew has opened their second location and this time it's near all the great hiking spots in North Jersey! They opened in the middle of pandemic when takeout was the only option for outside food. Poke is probably one of the best foods to take out and eat somewhere else. As expected, the quality of their fish and other ingredients to fill the bowl are 10/10. The shop is clean and modernized. One perk about the location is that they have a nice, large bench just outside of the restaurant. It is big enough to enjoy poke with your friends and family when it's nice out. Sticking to the signatures, I ordered the Ahi tuna (all tuna for protein) while my fiance got the Skuna Bay (all salmon). You can also build your own bowl. I will probably try that next time because they have a lot of ingredients. They are generous with the portion of each bowl, one would likely fill you up and leave you with the energy you need since it's pretty healthy. They have plenty of tea-based drinks to choose from and they also have bubble tea! Poke Crew will be my resting stop/ lunch spot whenever I go hiking in the area.

The double dragon was SPICY! Phew! I was driving around and needed to stop for a place to eat for poke and found this quaint little mall. The poke spot was clean and efficient, but the service was not that great. I was waiting to be serviced (because the service seemed like chipotle) but you have to write on a paper and give it to the server so they can make it on the assembly, but I didn't want a custom order, I wanted something on the menu, so I wasn't sure how I was going to be served. I did have to ask one of the servers if I could place an order & she gladly took it, which I'm grateful for but getting served is a little confusing. But the poke was so freaking good and spicy like I wanted it. They have a variety of options and being able to mix and match is great. They even have poke options for non-seafood eaters!

There are only a few seats lined up against the wall (bar style) and one table of 4. There is a piano too, and they have a sign saying they teach piano. As small as it is the menu is even smaller with maybe 10 food items. But they sell authentic Hawaiian coffees and special grains of Asian rice. Many choices of smoothies & juices as well. Them mango smoothie was a nice size and delicious! I ordered my food to go and had a very short ride so the good was still hot. We tried the Hawaiian Garlic shrimp. Small size was plenty as it had 7 shrimp over sticky rice with some mixed vegetables in a cheesy buttery sauce. It had nice flavor. Also tried was the Hawaiian Ahi Bowl ( poke) which had plenty of fresh tuna with same veggies. Again a small size was plenty. Lastly I tried the Musubi which is a slice of Spam on top of a bar of cooked sticky rice with seaweed paper around it to get it together. Hawaii has been the # consumer of Spam for many years so I had to give it a try. The salty, smokey flavor of the "meat" along with he sticky rice was a good combo, but the seaweed wrap just gave it a slight fishy taste I could do without. I would say to try U'I for a change up for when you are in the mood for Asian food.

Oh Yelp, how lucky I am. How lucky I always am. How lucky I was to stumble upon Hawaii Japanese Cuisine on the ever industrious Warburton Ave. Saturday Farmers Market. Meredith's Bakery. Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Bread. If you know you know. Anyways. Out in Waikiki I learned to appreciate Poke. I once appreciated Pokemon. What's Politoed up to these days. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly depending on your grasp of history, Poke is actually a Hawaiian dish. Japanese inspired, of course, but that's why the name of this spot is quite unique (although not catchy). Catch of the day. Rack of the day. So how'd I get here? You ask? ASK ME. Fine! I'll answer. Calm down, needy much? I'm an active guy. I participate in activities. Typically solo, I'm riding solo I'm riding solo solooooo. Man, just imagine walking down the city streets with a Walkman in blasting Les Miz. The dream. Anyways. I just got back from the island life and I was craving some fresh fish, at a sizable size with some balance of fruit, veggies, sauce and quantity for a beautiful price. And I just so happened to be running myself into the ground at the track in Irvington. Or was it that low-lying track in Hastings. The bees. The bumblebees. Maybe the hornets. It was Irvington. The bulldogs. Grrrrrr. I just ran myself into the ground. Sprints for about an hour. Bad hammy. Few months later tore the calf while calfmaxxing. Probably related. First muscle injury in a spinning dixie, gotta have muscles to injure them? Not really but that's what I'll tell myself. So I rip the farmers market. Then I rip the soosh spot, ordered online. Walked in, handsomely. Very friendly and respectful and nice staff and have been everytime I've gone since. The weight of the food in hand was ridonk so I was optimistic. I also got a few desserts down the road. Some hardbody that was completely eyeing down my grass-fed grass-finished hog at the track was somehow now across the street drinking a protein smoothie. My aura stinks of grandeur, but I avoid it. I'm taken lady. Did she follow me? Gross. What a joke. Really put things into perspective. I'm a fat slob, a professional self sabotager. But I work hard for this fat and that's what makes me a special boy. Hawaii Japanese Cuisine has the best poke in the area. They never let you down. I never let you down. Benvolio. Looking at the menu, I saw that they also offered a full Japanese selection with loads of sushi options. Everything sounded great, and I got excited for our meal. When we arrived, I was very impressed by the atmosphere, which was stylish, modern, and spacious. Our waitress was fine, but seemed to have a bit of a chip on her shoulder. Regardless, the food was excellent! The place was BYOB, but did have a Shirley Temple on the beverage section of the menu, which I thought was a cute alternative. As I mentioned, the food options were vast, which made it tough to decide how to proceed. In the end, I decided to get a single piece of sushi and a full Chinese entree. The piece of Eel Sushi I ordered was delivered as sashimi. When I noted the difference to the server, she looked at me like I was nuts, but asked if I wanted a bed of rice to put the fish on...I just said to forget it, since I already had a side of rice with my entree. It was just a weird exchange, but the eel was fresh and delicious. For my main course, I went with the Chicken and Eggplant with Spicy Garlic Basil Sauce and a side of brown rice. The meat was tender, the sauce had just the right amount of heat, and it was all just so flavorful! Plus, the portion was very generous. I tried a bite of the Spicy Asian Flower Herbs Chicken, which was noted as being "wok-sauteed in high flame for extreme spice". The diced chicken with red peppers and snap peas had been cooked with Szechuan peppercorns, but, thankfully, none of actual peppercorns were in the dish. So, there was certainly a level of spice, but actually not a ton of heat. It was really tasty, though! The rest of our party also enjoyed their meals, whether they were from Japanese or Chinese cuisine. I would definitely go back to Hanami, and it was great to find a delicious Asian restaurant in that area.
