    BYO Poke Bowl

We tried this via third party delivery for the first time and I'm so sad it took us so long! We typically order poke from another spot, but a good friend told us she prefers this so we gave it a shot. Everything was fresh, generous portions and really tasty! I especially loved the spicy tuna they offer. I asked for a special request on the order notes and they were kind enough to do that. This place is a gem - we will definitely be back!

We were looking for lunch options and found Poke Burrito. It's a shame we didn't find it sooner, but we'll definitely be back! We both got poke bowls, and they were delicious! So many options to choose from, not only delicious, fresh and filling but affordable too! The portion was large and l left stuffed! I highly recommend if you like sushi/ poke bowls. I will definitely be back!

I should have written a review sooner since there was a stretch recently when I was ordering from Poke Burrito 3-4 days a week when Uber Eats was running a BOGO offer. That was a great deal while it lasted. The fish and ingredients are all fresh. I knocked one star since in comparison to Poke Poke, Portion sizes are a little small and they have limited toppings in comparison. Base options are only limited to white rice, brown rice, and greens. I would call this a no frill poke spot with fresh ingredients and readable prices.

A quick fast casual sushi burrito place with quick service and some pretty good tasting ingredients. I left here still feeling a bit hungry and wanting a bit more, but overall if you're in the South Loop area and need a quick bite and am craving some poke--this place will be good for its speediness for a decent deal.

A story about brown rice. My friend and I were very hungry after spending 2.5 hours riding bikes around the city. We agreed that we both wanted a healthy, nutritious meal. Poke was perfect option. We searched for places on the map and came across Poke Burrito. It looked good on the picture, so we decided to order from them. I put veggies on my plate and my friend chose brown rice. When we picked up the food, we walked to the park and enjoyed it sitting on the grass. Everything was delicious, hearty, and fresh, but... the rice was supposed to be BROWN.

Very fresh and flavorful. I had my bowl delivered and it was to my liking and I'm sure it will be to yours as well. I can't wait to try the burrito!

I ordered delivery from Uber Eats. I really wanted a poke bowl that had avocado as well. I was so excited when I ordered it. However, be aware that they do not follow instructions on Uber Eats. It said it had shoyu honey wasabi poke sauce. I don't know what that is, but I know I'm VERY picky about sauces. I HATE basically every white sauce. So I specifically asked for no sauce. It was all in and weaved throughout the entire bowl. $24.10 for a bowl I couldn't eat...

It takes a lot for me to write a review but WOW! I love Poke, have had it all over the country and this place was a 10/10! So many choices, so fast, so fresh! Amazing quality ingredients. I will be back every time I'm in Chicago! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Came here because I wanted to try a poke burrito for the first time. It was honestly rather expensive and not that worth. IMO the poke burrito is a cool concept, but practically, it's not very convenient to eat, as it falls apart easily, and you don't get an even distribution of the ingredients like you do with a poke bowl or sushi roll. While the first couple of bites were delicious, diminishing marginal utility quickly hit and I was struggling to choke down the last couple of bites.

I found this place during a random lunch search and it's been my go-to place ever since! In fact, I had major cravings and I've eaten here about 6x in the past few weeks. Details: Poke Burrito has a DIY menu as well as standard pre-made bowls and "sushiritos" (which is essentially a giant sushi). I've had both and I definitely recommend the sushirito over the bowl since the bowl tends to be overpacked. In fact, I had to dump the bowl onto a plate since it was so dense and hard to mix. The DIY yourself is more fun (you can pick exactly what you like) but note that the sushirito can only be done in white rice. Ingredients: Poke Burrito has super fresh ingredients and a litany of fun choices. They have everything from onion to Japanese pickles to classic staples like edamame and seaweed salad. The awesome man who works during lunch will roll everything up into a giant roll and hands it to you on an unique plastic plate. It's completely customizable and delicious. Service: Service is fast and they pack your sushirito to-go in a bag with chopsticks, soy sauce packets and a fresh menu for easy ordering next time. Make sure to ask for the frequent punch card. 9 sushiritos= 1 free sushirito! Poke Burrito is the yummiest place for lunch in the South Loop and I'll definitely be back soon!

Jimmy's creation- delicious although it did not hold up its shape

It's like a giant uncut sushi roll so you know it's good. We came in around noon and was surprised to see there was only one other person there. I was instantly worried about the quality of the fish but found everything to be really good. I ordered the Jimmy's Creation which has a salmon and tuna along with a bunch of other tasty goodies. My friend order something very similar but I was surprised to see that mine was a lot larger than hers. The bottom portion of mine completely unraveled as there were no seaweed to cover it. It got kind of messy but because I read someone else's review, I was ready with my fork. I would absolutely come back here. While the price is a bit steep, I feel like the amount of food, at least what I got, justifies the cost. Just don't expect to completely hold up like an actual burrito.

I don't say this lightly, but this is the best poke place I have ever been to! The fish and toppings were very fresh and delicious! I have never been WOW'd by a poke bowl before, but this place has done it! The portions were good, and I felt very satisfied and full after my meal. Poke burrito is currently pick-up only, where you place your order online and you will grab your meal at the door. Pick up was pretty quick and it was also very convenient! This was also a great way to take precautions for COVID-19. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area! I can't wait to come back!

It was very much between lunch and dinner time, so the restaurant was completely empty inside. My friend and I perused the menu board and eventually each decided to get a regular sized build-your-own bowl. In my poke bowl, I got spicy tuna, salmon, and scallop as the proteins and purple rice as the base. I really appreciate them allowing three different protein choices, variety is great! I then got an assortment of other toppings, including my favorites, fish roe and imitation crab. Everything tasted very fresh as expected, though I think in the future I'd rather get a 2nd portion of scallop instead of spicy tuna (just a personal preference). My friend dined outside the restaurant on the sidewalk since it was a nice day, and interestingly some birds came by and basically begged for food. The price is super reasonable for the quality and portions and I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area. More likely though, I'll order delivery again from them first! The staff member who helped us was incredibly kind and patient, especially with my sister, and I love the build-your-own bowl concept where you can customize everything to your liking. FYI everything is freshly prepared in-house. I ordered a regular bowl with rice and greens, tuna, spicy tuna, and tofu, then added toppings like kimchi, corn, carrots, ginger, cucumber, onions, and a crunchy topping. They finished it with garlic aioli and another sauce, so good! The garlic aioli was a standout. My mom ordered a similar bowl with tuna, spicy tuna, and cooked shrimp. She was pleasantly surprised by the value and kept saying how much she loved the food. The portions were generous, we even had leftovers to enjoy later. We also tried the spicy miso soup for dinner, and she loved that just as much. My baby sister kept it simple with rice and spam. She said she liked it, but true to her picky nature, she took one bite and that was it. Overall, a fantastic experience with fresh ingredients, great service, and generous portions. Highly recommend! Granted the last time I went here was in 2019 to their old location just a few blocks up on Lincoln Avenue but it seems they got a corporate makeover after shutting down during the pandemic and rebranding. Maybe they have a new owner...? It's much more spacious and brighter with Herman Miller stool seats, a pinball machine and high ceilings. But with all of these new trendy upgrades it has lost its cozy, relaxing small business neighborhood vibe the old location had IMO. They added bubble tea and Mochi donuts to their menu. They also were playing rap & trap music and I honestly thought I had walked into the wrong place when I went in. Gone are the guys busy behind the counter. You order via an ordering kiosk (they seem to be popular with places cutting down on staff) made by one person behind the counter. My order was made quickly but I'm not really sure about the kiosk ordering system since you need to input your phone number. I ordered my favorite bowl of theirs, Jimmy's Creation. The first time I tried it in 2018 it was so good I nearly skipped out of the place and wanted to eat here everyday. It's still good but the rice is much more sticky, a little too sticky for my liking since I had to break it up into chunks with my chopsticks. The sauce was a bit too sweat also. Was it always this sweat...? A minor issue though based on preference I guess. I would probably return again but probably not go out of my way and trek through a snow storm like I did once years ago.

There's a large number of ingredients and sauces that don't always taste the best together. I did appreciate the menu with steps to orde. It helped my husband who doesn't get poke as often to decide. My 2 cents: a preset poke bowl menu and pictures might help the ordering go more smoothly. The Tuna and Salmon were good, the shrimp was miniscule. Sushi rice was delicious and overall it felt like a nice healthy and fresh meal. Poke is overall expensive so portions were on par with other locations. I think its the lack of marinating the protein or sauces that are lacking in flavor. There was a variety of texture but no saltiness or spiciness or umami flavoring to offset the blandness or the veggies and protein. Interestingly enough, the spam musubi was one of the best I've had in a while. I loved the egg addition to the 2 slices of spam and warm rice.
