Poke Bros definitely isn't your average spot. I was honestly surprised they didn't have sushi rolls, but once you see the menu, it makes perfect sense. They give you plenty of fresh options to fully customize your bowl exactly how you want it. The restaurant was extremely clean, organized, and the food came out fast. Huge shoutout to the chef/cashier for smoothly handling two jobs at once while still keeping great service. The food was nothing less than excellent. The Johnny Utah Bowl had the perfect balance of fresh ingredients, packed with flavor and filling without being too heavy. The Duke Bowl was just as impressive -- bold, fresh, and made perfectly. We both ordered the No 1) Johnny Utah w/salmon. She got the plain salmon I got the spicy salmon. We started w/brown rice, added salmon as our protein of choice. My wife had the plain salmon I got the spicy salmon. Then you add avocado, masago, cucumber, crunchy onion & panko pieces add soy sauce, aioli & OG sauce. First time trying this place and our whole family enjoyed it. We all decided to build our own bowls. They have smaller bowls for a kid sized option as well. I did a half and half bowl with spicy salmon and spicy chicken. You can add as many toppings as you'd like when you build your own bowl It's delicious and filling! I'm knocking down the score down from my previous review because my recent bowls have been quite heavy on the rice and not much else. It was like 80% rice. I barely got a scoop of salmon on my bowl and the amount of avocado was laughable. By the time I got to the store, there was very little avocado left and what was there had browned considerably due to air exposure. Now, I don't mind me some brown avocado but I know this is something that a lot of people don't like, so I was baffled to see the employee give me a fraction of the otherwise unappealing avocado. Thoroughly enjoyed our poke bowls! Relatively affordable and a variety of options! Main gripe is the wait times. We decided to go at prime time lunch time and there was only one staff member with a long line. Still, overall was worth the wait. It's a lot like Chipotle where you can tell them what you want on each bowl, type of rice, protein, etc. You get the choice to make your own with unlimited topping options OR one of their "signature bowls" where you are limited to I believe it was 3 toppings. The establishment is nice and the food is good but dont bother going if its anywhere near closing, the employees always close early and wont acknowledge you, several occasions now stopping by 20 minutes before close and nothing, which really sucks because I liked to come after work. I'm so glad I finally got to grab Poke Bros for lunch! Poke Bros is in the Walmart plaza off Touhy, on the end. This particular parking lot can be busy, but there are generally spots. The restaurant space is really spacious, modern and clean. I was ordering to go, so started at the counter. I ordered 2 bowls to go: a #5 the Shaka (chicken) and a #6 high tide (chicken and shrimp). The person working was so kind and chatted while she quickly put the bowls together. I love that they come in sturdy packaging with a well-sealed lid, it made me feel super comfortable on the drive home with the precious cargo. I love everything about this bowl! The white sushi rice was so well cooked, the veggies were super fresh and cut nicely, I loved the combination of shrimp and chicken! I was afraid the shrimp would be over cooked but it wasn't. They had several choices for sauces, and for little crunchy toppings. You can truly customize your bowl to anything you can imagine. Both bowls were perfect with high quality ingredients. Thought I'd try this place again. Now that's it's been around for some time, the food is just ok. Unfriendly staff still working as if they were forced to work on a Saturday. I said "hello" 2x thinking he didn't hear me the first time......no response. I asked how it worked with ordering.... No response. We realized too late that we could have paid for extra fish. But we thought that the proportions would not be a problem because we ordered their set bowls and we expected the ratio to be perfect. I would have given it another star if not for this. I would choose the salad, or half and half of rice and salad if I ever find myself again in this store. Last time the person behind the counter appeared under the influence of something and kept putting the wrong things in our preset bowls (not customized make-your-own). When we got home and both bowls tasted a bit weird. We noticed our shrimp in one bowl was very fishy and stinky and not safe to consume we called to warn the restaurant and we were told the manager wasn't in and there wasn't anything they could do. We didn't want a refund - just to warn them so no one else got sick! The man behind the counter who also picked up the phone couldn't understand the problem. They ended up just hanging up on us and the issue was never resolved. Hopefully the manager sees this review and checks the shrimp or deals with that employee! read more

Not having been there before, my wife also had some reasonable questions. The second employee behind the counter genuinely appeared annoyed an inconvenienced that we would ask for clarification. For those who don't know - those are basically sushi rice bowls with vegetables, sauces etc. I'd recommend trying the spicy salmon rice bowl - you can customize and make your own bowls here, they are pretty pricey but very good and will fill you up. The poke was very subpar but one thing that will prevent me from coming back here is a sign they put up at the counter saying that delivery drivers cannot use the bathroom, only customers. I did Uber during college and have many friends and family who do DoorDash and grub hub on a regular basis and I know how sometime drivers need to use the bathroom on the job. This is completely disrespectful and elitist to these workers who provide an invaluable service for businesses, and to be treated like animals is gross behavior on their part. While I thought this was going to be a disaster, it actually turned itself around pretty well. The big tip I have learned from today is do not order online for pickup. Its not going to save you any time and it would have been actually quicker to just order it in the place. I placed an order at 10am this morning for pickup at 12:45. Online ordering was a breeze. However, when I started to travel to Poke Bros, they sent me an email that my stuff would not be ready until 1:15. What? I do not have time to push back my lunch 30 minutes, but I went anyway to see if they can make it faster. There were two lines in the place: one for pickup and one for people ordering. While the line for ordering was longer than pickup, they took the exact same time. The pickup people were getting a little irate because we all placed our orders ahead of time. In the end, my stuff was ready at 12:55 which wasn't too bad compared to what the place looked like. Still, I would have expected the stuff to be ready, especially since the food is mostly cold. The employee also thanked me for waiting and apologized for the wait which was actually very nice. Businesses don't do this often enough! I wasn't sure if she made it correctly because it was made so quickly, but every ingredient was there. The food was actually pretty good, but I went with a pretty safe bowl with shrimp. Nice size and pretty tasty. No real complaints on the food. It was what I expected. I will say that there was more avocado than expected so I got my extra $1 worth there! A newer poke restaurant in the neighborhood hood. The interior looks very clean. You can tell this is a recent location. I would say this place have doesn't have anything too unique however if you specifically look for poke there isn't much competition in the area. If you want poke you would have to go pretty far to find something with this much variety. Since you can have a build your own bowl or a pre-made one.
