I came on a Sunday morning/afternoon and street parking has generally been easy on Sundays. I ordered at the kiosk this time, but I would probably want to order at the counter next time. I liked the kiosk/tablet ordering, though. It would be perfect if you aren't feeling social. I like that I can add a lot of toppings! Although next time, I would try more than just medium for the sauce/flavor. The portion was also pretty generous! I managed to finish a two protein bowl in one sitting. Overall, eating in or doing takeout would be great!

With a 4.6 rating, we were genuinely excited to try it. Walking in, first impressions were great. The inside of the restaurant was super cute, the artwork was beautifully done, and the initial greeting was welcoming. Unfortunately, things started going downhill pretty quickly after that. We had a few questions about the menu, but the hostess seemed confused and didn't really understand what we were asking, so we ultimately just gave up and ordered what sounded good. Food-wise, it was very mixed. The sushi roll was phenomenal...genuinely the best part of the experience, and my son absolutely loved his. The shrimp udon was okay, but the portion was noticeably smaller than what most sushi places serve. The salmon poke bowl was very basic and honestly underwhelming. I also asked for spicy mayo, which was never brought out. The biggest disappointment was the service. Paying $4 for a canned soda with no refills already felt excessive, but when my son accidentally spilled it, we cleaned it up immediately ourselves. No one offered extra napkins, replaced the plate, or even asked if we wanted another drink. It just felt inattentive from start to finish. To make matters worse, one staff member was sitting at the bar listening to something loudly on a laptop, which completely took away from the atmosphere and felt unprofessional. As someone who used to waitress, I understand the service industry and I'm usually a generous tipper. But I also believe tips reflect service, and unfortunately this experience missed the mark. After picking up our receipt, the hostess was visibly unhappy with the tip amount and had no issue making that clear which only reinforced the poor experience. I very rarely leave one-star reviews, but for a place with a 4.6 star reputation and "top-rated" marketing, this was incredibly disappointing. Cute atmosphere and one great sushi roll aside, the service and overall experience were just not what we expected.

We were sadly in a rush and had to be out by a certain time to catch a show, and our server understood the assignment and got us out on the tight schedule we needed. I'm just sad I had to slurp down my soup so quickly as it was absolutely DELICIOUS! I ordered the Snow Mountain Ramen - the creamy tofu broth is unlike anything I've had and was so so unique and delicious. I thought about it for at least a week straight after eating it and am still dying to go back to get more. I also got the Iced Rose Matcha drink - $10 felt too pricy for this but I wanted a fun drink and a little caffeine kick - and again the flavors were unique and tasty. Both my friend and I happened to see someone we knew here - it's definitely a popular spot! It was packed on a Saturday night but it was still pretty quick for us to get a table for 2. Being a downtown city restaurant, the tables feel a bit cramped and I was a little too close to the table next to me for comfort - claustrophobics beware (honestly the soup is worth it though!!) Parking is pretty easy in the lot, although Holy crap they need to fix the potholes / harsh drop-off where it meets the street, and it still was not fully plowed many weeks after the big snowstorm (it's a shared lot so not a Y Noodle specific issue, but just saying). The only thing that was unpleasant were the bathrooms - I get it was a busy weekend night, but they reeked of a litter box the second you stepped in, the floor was dirty and very wet with unknown substances, and the Dyson hand dryer is at such a weird, too high level on the wall that it sprayed water in my face. Everything else was a dream, can't wait to go back! Hopefully the bathrooms were just a fluke.

The food came quickly and was presented beautifully, and the drinks were so good I had to have a second. We opted for small plates on this visit, which included an order of soup dumplings which definitely lived up to the hype. I can't wait to come back to try even more of their amazing sounding entrees, especially the noodles!

Seafood Scallion Pancake: The best dish of the meal, arguably even the best seafood scallion pancake I've ever had. Soft Tofu Stew: A very authentic Korean tofu soup, with just the right amount of sweetness and spiciness. It was very comforting to drink hot. Yaki Soba: Made with white buckwheat noodles, it seemed similar to regular stir-fried noodles. However, it had a great wok hei (wok aroma). Hot Stone Bibimbap: Extremely sweet, the rice was a bit sticky, and the flavor was uneven. The beef was also tough.

The meal starts with miso soup & salad with ginger dressing. The soup always comes out piping hot & has great flavor. I love a good ginger dressing & this one has some zing. The Sushi & Sashimi Combo is a chef's selection of 5 pieces of nigiri, 5 pieces of sashimi & either a California roll or salmon avocado roll. Since we ordered two of the combos, we went with one of both rolls. If you like California rolls, this is the one you want. I personally judge a sushi restaurant on the quality of the salmon avocado roll. Is the salmon bright in color, buttery mouthfeel & firm? Is the avocado soft & perfectly "avocado green" in color? YAAASSSSS to both! We also ordered a negihama maki - yellowtail & scallions roll. It is a guilty pleasure & one of my favorite rolls in all sushi-land!
