    love boat with Rainbow Roll

Decent sushi located in the heart of downtown. I've been here a few times with friends and the food was good. Two of the times we got the love boat with different rolls---yessssss, I 'love' boat with my friends---of course ;) It came with soup and a shared salad for each as well! I will go back again for convenience and would definitely recommend this place to friends. For the prices/quality in general I do prefer some of the other spots in town to really satisfy my sushi hankering. Definitely worth checking out as some of the other menu options also look tasty- I'm wicked curious about their ramen---next time!!!

Food is always consistent here and is a perfect spot for lunch or date night. They have a small sushi bar and make fresh sushi in house. I got the Philadelphia roll and seafood udon. I like the spicy stir fried udon a lot over the classic one as it has a nice kick and very flavorful. The restaurant and bathroom is very clean. The sushi roll was fresh and well made. Service is always quick and friendly. Their staff is very attentive and welcoming. They are located on Westminster Street in Providence in a fun and busy area.

I had went around early afternoon, where the place is mainly quiet and calm, so it may differ to services at nighttime. But overall, it's a wonderful place to dine in, whether it's by yourself or with a party. Dining in by myself, the service was fairly quick without needing to feel rushed. Once you order, it may take a while for your food to be ready, but once it's there, it's a delight. You may reconsider to think that the food's price may be expensive however, its portions are a lot. If it's your first time, consider something light and order a few of their items and try other things as you go in the future. The staffing is nice and quiet, respectful in asking questions and expressing their hospitality.

A solid 3.5! The meal was good, but I didn't have anything to write home about unfortunately. The appetizers were fried well and had good dipping sauce pairings. The sushi rolls were okay. My biggest issue with the sushi here is that the shrimp tempura is sub par. When in a roll, it isn't crispy and the shrimp is very small, sometimes not filling up every piece of sushi. Given a lot of their rolls have shrimp tempura inside, I was hoping it would be better. The fish quality is good though. The chap chae was also good but could use more flavor. Service was good (food came very quickly), and it is really conveniently located downtown. Prices were very reasonable as well, especially with a 5% cash discount. Overall, a solid spot for a quick meal, but I will be more picky about what I order next time based on what was done well this time.

Drunker tiger, spicy maki combo, seaweed salad and miso soup. Regular salad

Walked in here on a whim after shopping in the area. The restaurant is well decorated and lit and has a comfortable vibe. I saw a few people enjoying delicious looking plates alone which to me is always a good sign. The hostess who was also our server provided great service. We ordered a sushi combo, seaweed salad a specialty roll and some drinks. All of that together (which was a lot of food and a healthy healthy pour of good wine) came to $77. I kept thinking while eating I will absolutely come back here. I love an unpretentious, friendly neighborhood spot with delicious food. I feel like miso soup can be an afterthought tacked onto your combo but this soup was SOOO good. I slurped it all. The drunken tiger specialty roll was particularly yummy. This place is awesome, I highly recommend it.

my boyfriend and I love it here - he loves being able to get black bean noodles and sushi from the same spot, and I love watching the sweet servers try to convince him to learn how to use chopsticks the lunch specials are a great deal for anyone thinking about $ but honestlyyyyyy I've always left Sura feeling like my money was well-spent (and I'm a girl who loves to order many dishes)

The restaurant is located in a nice area with a lot of local shops. Stopped here for lunch and it wasn't too busy and the staff are friendly. They give you banchan with miso soup and other sides. I got the Sura ramen with pork and the broth was decent. The bowl is a generous size with plenty of ramen noodles and a good amount of toppings.

Sushi was very mushy. I got the spicy maki and didn't really enjoy it. Their salad was good and so was the banchan (Korean sides). The miso soup was too salty for me. My Fiancé loved the ramen, so I'd probably try that if I returned.

Loved this place! The food was fresh, service was quick, and the waiter was so friendly and informative about the menu. As a vegetarian and a picky eater, I have a difficult time finding a restaurant that I really enjoy. I was so happy and satisfied leaving this restaurant. I would definitely recommend.

This was so delicious!! We got the meatiest crab rangoons, the juiciest dumplings, and the most flavorful sushi. Our sushi rolls came with miso soup and a refreshing salad. Our waiters and waitresses were all so nice. We came here on a whim and we're so glad we did!

Went here on my one hour lunch break, and if you are near here, check this place out! The restaurant is cozy and open when you walk in with approximately 10 tables and bar seating. The servers are friendly and attentive, always smiling!! The menu is large so there's something for everyone, their prices are great too. My co-workers and I will be back soon!!

Sura boat, Tonkatsu, Tteokboki, and Yukgejang

I'm from Vegas and was really impressed by a Korean restaurant in Providence. It felt just as good as the best back home. The sushi was super fresh and tasty, and the tteokbokki had perfect spice and chewiness. Tonkatsu was very tasty. The food, and especially the service was very pleasing. I highly recommend checking this place out.

BuDae Jjigae hot pot aka korean army stew
    Angel P.

I stopped here for lunch with my partner. We ordered the kim bab, and dudae jjigae hot pot (army stew). The kim bab was good/decent, and pretty big in size. The budae jjigae was overly salty. We also got it with cheese and ramen (additional $2 for each add-on). The budae jjigae was enough for the two of us. The banchan/side dishes were good. The restaurant itself is clean, well decorated and service is good. The website is not updated with their current menu (at least I couldn't find the budae jjigae on their website). They have a pretty big menu.

With a 4.6 rating, we were genuinely excited to try it. Walking in, first impressions were great. The inside of the restaurant was super cute, the artwork was beautifully done, and the initial greeting was welcoming. Unfortunately, things started going downhill pretty quickly after that. We had a few questions about the menu, but the hostess seemed confused and didn't really understand what we were asking, so we ultimately just gave up and ordered what sounded good. Food-wise, it was very mixed. The sushi roll was phenomenal...genuinely the best part of the experience, and my son absolutely loved his. The shrimp udon was okay, but the portion was noticeably smaller than what most sushi places serve. The salmon poke bowl was very basic and honestly underwhelming. I also asked for spicy mayo, which was never brought out. The biggest disappointment was the service. Paying $4 for a canned soda with no refills already felt excessive, but when my son accidentally spilled it, we cleaned it up immediately ourselves. No one offered extra napkins, replaced the plate, or even asked if we wanted another drink. It just felt inattentive from start to finish. To make matters worse, one staff member was sitting at the bar listening to something loudly on a laptop, which completely took away from the atmosphere and felt unprofessional. As someone who used to waitress, I understand the service industry and I'm usually a generous tipper. But I also believe tips reflect service, and unfortunately this experience missed the mark. After picking up our receipt, the hostess was visibly unhappy with the tip amount and had no issue making that clear which only reinforced the poor experience. I very rarely leave one-star reviews, but for a place with a 4.6 star reputation and "top-rated" marketing, this was incredibly disappointing. Cute atmosphere and one great sushi roll aside, the service and overall experience were just not what we expected.

As a disclaimer, raw sushi isn't my favorite. I tend to order cooked sushi, so maybe that makes me a fake sushi fan. Anyways, to keep it safe, we went with the California (avocado and crab stick), Wayland Maki roll (shrimp tempura, avocado with masago, and sweet soy sauce), and veggie pad Thai. The sushi came about only after about 10 minutes, followed by the paid thai 5 minutes later. Each roll brought about 6 pieces. The California was simple but good. I enjoyed the Wayland maki more, but I think I would have liked the sweet soy sauce on the side. The pad Thai was delicious. The veggies were mainly scallions, peppers, bean sprouts and maybe snap peas. I think some carrots and mushrooms would have paired well. We both left very satisfied. There was a price discrepancy on our bill (the menu said $15 and the bill said $17), so just be aware some items might be a little more expensive. They don't have a designated parking lot, but depending on the day and time you go, there is plenty of parking on the street. Our waitress was attentive and brought us everything we needed. They do have TVs and are typically on sports channels. In addition, you can watch them make sushi right before your eyes with their semi open station.
