The meal starts with miso soup & salad with ginger dressing. The soup always comes out piping hot & has great flavor. I love a good ginger dressing & this one has some zing. The Sushi & Sashimi Combo is a chef's selection of 5 pieces of nigiri, 5 pieces of sashimi & either a California roll or salmon avocado roll. Since we ordered two of the combos, we went with one of both rolls. If you like California rolls, this is the one you want. I personally judge a sushi restaurant on the quality of the salmon avocado roll. Is the salmon bright in color, buttery mouthfeel & firm? Is the avocado soft & perfectly "avocado green" in color? There are two price selections the $30 price has a lots of selections and the higher price has some additional selections. We opted for the $30 choice. We started out with daikon, radish, and add bean sprouts. The daikon radish is my absolute favorite. There are selections to make your own salad, but I did not want to fill up on salad. You can order food made in the kitchen. We had vegetable dumplings, scallion, pancake, and Korean fried chicken. The Korean fried chicken was spicy, but also so delicious. Next, we picked out our meat and chicken to bring back to the table to grill. There were two bottles of sauces on the table to dip your meat and into. This is one of the few places where the Yelp rating is off the mark for me. I really enjoy the food every time I come in. My most recent visit, I came in with a large party and they seated us right away. As far as I can tell everyone was very happy with their food. Service was a bit slow, but again we came in with a large party at the last minute on a freezing Tuesday evening. I got a bottle of cold house sake, the veg bao buns, and Tteokbokki. Everything was so yummy. I love that they bring salad and the picked veggies for the table. Their Tteokbokki is one of my favorite rice cake dishes out of all the places that offer it nearby. Decent sushi located in the heart of downtown. I've been here a few times with friends and the food was good. Two of the times we got the love boat with different rolls---yessssss, I 'love' boat with my friends---of course ;) It came with soup and a shared salad for each as well! A solid 3.5! The meal was good, but I didn't have anything to write home about unfortunately. The appetizers were fried well and had good dipping sauce pairings. The sushi rolls were okay. My biggest issue with the sushi here is that the shrimp tempura is sub par. When in a roll, it isn't crispy and the shrimp is very small, sometimes not filling up every piece of sushi. Given a lot of their rolls have shrimp tempura inside, I was hoping it would be better. The fish quality is good though. The chap chae was also good but could use more flavor. Service was good (food came very quickly), and it is really conveniently located downtown. Prices were very reasonable as well, especially with a 5% cash discount. Ordered 3 sushi rolls and they were all great, my 13yo went out on a limb and tried the Providence roll and loved it! Didn't know we were getting the soup and shared salad but they were both delicious and I particularly loved the salad dressing- ginger and lemon with very fresh tomatoes. I tried the curry ramen with chicken, which I thought was very tasty, but wasn't quite as impressive as some of the other ramen I've had at other restaurants nearby. Our server barely spoke to us.
