I haven't had a poke bowl in El Paso ever so when I found this one after the gym I wanted to check it out. The menu clearly lists which proteins are cooked and which are raw. I ordered brown rice as the base and then their spicy og tuna and og tuna, topped with my usual toppings except added some mango and kale since they had it. The only downside was the protein scoops were the tiniest scoops in the whole wide world and the staff was very stingy with everything that went in the bowl even the veggies. The sauce selection was pretty good as there was a few to try. It's a really bright building within indoor and outdoor seating and very clean. I liked the idea of this poke spot. You can basically create your "bowl" with choices of size, protein, rice, toppings and sides. Unfortunately one of the TVs that had part of the menu was gone, so I wasn't able to see all my options. I visited during lunch and was surprised to find only 1 person working so needless to say there was a bit of a wait. Though my bowl looked good, I feel it definitely lacked flavor even the ahi tuna had little to no seasoning. I also was very unimpressed with the sides. It was cucumber or seaweed salad with both looking like they had been sitting in water all morning. I heard a lot about this particular genre of food. I was not familiar with Poke' at all. Strangely enough, I enjoy sushi Immensely but had never tried this Native Hawaiian cuisine. There is a first time for everything and, for the life of me I can't figure out what in the world took me soooooo long to indulge in this delightfully delicious Hawaiian dish. This incredible combination of perfectly balanced proteins and carbs is a wonderful contribution to the sun city. My palate was delightfully surprised by the introduction of raw marinated cubed fish layered up with a satisfying serving of sticky rice, seasoned to perfection and served in a bowl. The spicy tuna platter with the kale noddles and brown rice was exceptional. I must go back this weekend to explore what more they have to offer. I'm please to announce that this poke place has all the best toppings! They even created their own poke flavors such as OG poke, shredded ahi and peppered albacore tuna. The gentleman who works there was very knowledgeable and helpful when placing my order. The poke was fresh, not slimy and hard to chew like a few other locations (not throwing anyone under the bus). The sides are also fresh, and they have plenty of sauces to bring flavor to your bowl. They are located on the eastside of Zaragoza, right beside Steve O's. Poke on the Eastside! Finally! I've been here 3 times and have had a pleasant experience every time. The employees didn't rush me, the music was at a nice volume, and the place was clean. They have a great variety of proteins and toppings (please add kimchi!), but I wish they had a better selection of sauce. I'd love to see sesame oil and garlic chili oil! A minor annoyance is the plating, the rice is a scoop separated from everything, which makes it hard to get rice in every bite and/or mix it all together (which I am a fan of). I've been DYING for poke to be available on the East side and I'm so glad this place opened! Ambience: Very clean and very modern. Quite a bit of seating if you stay in and eat, I personally decided not to and took everything to go. Service: everyone was friendly and accommodating. They were also very patient with me and explained everything without judgement. Food: Very good! I got two large bowls because I was bringing one home to my husband. I got all salmon and he got spicy tuna and salmon. The ingredients were fresh and clean! Only complaint is that the avocado was hard and probably too ripe before the opened it and served it. Poke-lisous. I had a medium 1.5 scoop white rice and 3 proteins. I had the spicy tuna, shrimp, tofu with white rice, some fried onions and fried garlic for some crunchy texture. Definitely the best place on this side of town if you don't wanna drive 20+ minutes anywhere else. If I could afford it I'd come here on a daily basis for a post workout meal. Only downside is they could use more sauce variety. I suggest chili oil (easy to make), sesame oil, soy sauce. Other than that I don't have anything to complain about. Portions for the sides were more than the proteins combined. I don't believe any sauce I requested was actually added to my order. Asked for strawberry macaron ice cream and received coffee. So overall, my order seemed to be a suggestion. On top of that they were fairly late with the deliver (about 30 minutes) which I understand happens.that part wasn't at all their fault. But when the order arrived and isn't correct it's more frustrating after working all day. Overall it was decent but I feel like I won't order take out from here fairly often. Rice portion is huge. My cousin got a large ($12.95; 2 servings of base and 4 proteins) and I got a medium ($10.95; 2 servings of base and 3 proteins). Additional $1.00 for avocados . I normally like mixing my poke bowls to make somewhat a deconstructed sushi; so when I mixed mine the rice to protein ratio seemed a little off. They were a little light with the sauces which ended up being just a very dry poke bowl. Inside was very clean. In my opinion I've had better and they're nori sheets ($2.50 each) and fountain drinks ($2.30) are ridiculously overpriced. Fountain drinks don't come in a plastic to go cup but in a coca-cola plastic cup that stays in the restaurant. So that was a bummer drinks are refillable, but not for you to take. They have macaroon ice creams for $3.50. My total before tax and tips was $39.00 (if that ain't expensive, I must be that cheap) I've had better poke for cheap. Because they actually serve it as all the toppings and poke are on top of the rice not on the side. Poke bowls are suppose to be layered. Let me start this review with I'm from Hawaii so I know what amazing poke taste like. Poke bar's poke was just okay. There wasn't a lot of flavor because I'm used to the fish being marinated with soy sauce, Hawaiian salt, and chili pepper (Hawaiian style). What this place does offer is very fresh fish and an assortment of veges and sauces. I'm not sure if I would come here again but I would recommend this to someone who is new to poke. read more

When I moved to El Paso a few months ago, I was so excited to see the "Coming Soon" sign at Poke Bar. They opened this past weekend, and I was not disappointed. The entire staff was friendly and willing to give us their recommendations. Melanie helped us decide on a large entree with white rice and kale noodles and a mix of four proteins (spicy tuna, ahi tuna, salmon, and octopus). We then chose our sauce (spicy house) and vegetable toppings (edamame, green onion, and pineapple). She then helped us top everything off with crunchy garlic and sesame seeds. It was absolutely delicious. Ricardo, the owner, was there that evening, and he was spoke with us about how excited he was to open and bring the amazing Poke Bar cuisine to the neighborhood. Never been to a Poke Bar before so when I went in I had a few questions on the sauces and protein options. The server was accommodating and didn't seem to be annoyed with the questions which is always nice. All of the food was delicious, and even with the small I was left feeling full and had leftovers.
