My son usually goes here and I usually go somewhere else because I don't like spicy hot food; however, this time I heard they had a new addition to the menu so I went in. I asked them if the new Huli Huli Chicken was spicy hot and they said no, it was sweet. So, we purchased the chicken dish, 2 bags of chips, and a cookie for takeout. When we arrived back home, the Chicken was spicy hot so I threw it out!!! Sooooo, they lied to me to make a sale. I shook my head and said, "At least I have the chips". I opened the bag and examined the maker of the chips. I was instantly appalled by seeing an expiration date of December 16, 2025 (It is February 23 today!)!!!! I will say it did take a long time for each order, but I think they will get better at maximizing the assembly line tactic of assembling orders. I had the small spicy tuna on salad greens bowl. The fish looked ok, but the large only got 3 scoops (PokeBar had four, as well as an extra small size with 1 scoop that was perfect for me). Veggies were so so, not a great selection. (Boo blanched kale vs. fresh) they had to go get the crab out from the back and were completely out of seaweed salad and crispy onion. Ordered to go, no utensils provided. If a store is going to open at 11 AM, I expect the advertised food to be available. The food should be prepped before opening or the night before. It's not a good business model to not have - say - salmon which is a huge part of the menu, especially if you're a poke place. Poke Your Way Regular: We got a regular bowl with 2 scoops of ahi tuna since there were no other proteins we wanted. You can choose your base, mix-ins, toppings, and sauces. For the base, since they didn't have kale noodles or salad, we got half white rice and half brown rice. The rice was really good, especially the brown rice since it wasn't dry at all. For the mix-ins, we got cucumbers, sweet onions, edamame, pineapple, mango, & mandarin orange. The fruits gave the bowl a delicious sweetness that went well with the ahi tuna. For the sauces, we got umami shoyu, sweet shoyu, and a little bit of the spicy serrano aioli. The flavors are what made the bowl really good because the ahi tuna wasn't that fresh. For the toppings, we got surimi (crab) salad, masago, green onions, pickled ginger, wasabi, & furikake. For the crunch, we got onion crisps, garlic crisps, & shredded nori. The food is good, but I recommend going in and ordering in person. Under no circumstances should you order delivery. They are perpetually out of items and will not notify you if you order delivery. I ordered the keto bowl which is supposed to have cauliflower rice, mixed greens, avocado, surimi salad, tuna, Serrano aioli, ginger, and seaweed. When my bowl arrived it had plain white rice instead of cauliflower, no mixed greens, no avocado, no ginger, and no surimi. It was basically white rice, tuna, and seaweed with barely any aioli. But they still charged me the extra cost for a "limited time" bowl. My poke adventure took me to this place on the west side. It's right across the street from whole foods, but you can easily miss the sign because the tree branches in the front need trimming. Anyway, this place is fantastic!! The scoops were a bit better!!! They have options on the board, or you can create your poke bowl! What I really love about this place was the fact that they had Hawaiian Sun and SPAM MUSUBI!! Oh, if you're from Hawaii, you would know!! I got a Hawaiian sun, and it was amazing. Every since moving to El Paso from Dallas, I've been craving and looking for a good poke place for so long and Pokeworks has delivered. I now know my go to poke place. Location - Conveniently located next to Whole Foods, the parking lot is very small considering the amount of customers they have, so I would recommend parking in the Whole Foods parking lot if you can't find any space. It's literally walking distance away from Whole Foods! Ambiance - Walking in, you could definitely tell that Pokeworks is new, organized, and definitely knew what they were doing. Everything was nice, white, and oh so clean with a couple of tables inside and more seating options outside. Service - So Pokework is basically a Chipotle/Subway style of ordering. All of your options are clearly laid out on a big menu above the ordering area and the workers are also really nice at explaining what the different ingredients are. Just tell them what you want, they'll put it in, mix it up, and voila! You have a Pokebowl! Food - I came with a large group of friends who are from Dallas/Houston/Austin and we were all very satisfied with our bowls. The ingredients were fresh (ahi tuna and salmon was sooo good), light, and healthy. I honestly couldn't finish a whole bowl and ended up eating only half. Pricing - This place has pretty average prices for pokebowls but you do get a fairly large volume of food with your order. It also helps that they have so many different options and varieties of toppings. The more you pile on, the bigger the value you're getting! Overall, it was a really good poke experience and one that was unexpected for El Paso, but looking at their website, it seems that Pokework is a chain that is expanding very fast across the country. Eating the pokebowl here, I can definitely see why they're doing so well and would highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for something new to try or is simply craving some poke (or in my case, ahi tuna). Used to really love this little spot, moved to the other side of town but realized they were on door dash so I decided to place an order for two friends and I. The food took an hour and a half to prepare (the app said that they were preparing it that long, not ex sure why that is), and when the door dasher arrived with the food, the rice was a solid hunk of jello at the bottom of the bowl, and I don't know how but the fish had partially cooked, and the vegetables were wilted. I am so totes all about Pokeworks you guys, I like it so much that I don't even go into Pieology (which I'm also totes all about but to a lesser degree, semi-totes?) whenever I make that ungodly trek to the upper westside. I'm a big fan of the rice bowls, and what I like about Pokeworks is that even though there's lots of options, I don't feel overwhelmed or confused by them as much as I do at Poke3 (which I like, but am not totes all about). Anywho, 3 protein Poke Bowls are my jam, usually Ahi Tuna, Salmon, and Shrimp, bunch of toppings and I usually try different sauce combinations, I like Sweet Chili with Ponzu, but the new Chili Lime is really good, I hope it's not a limited time thing. It's a little pricey for lunch, I usually pay between $18-20 including drink and tip, otherwise I would visit more often; but the food is high quality, so I don't feel bad about the price. The crowd can be a little pretentious during busy times, I chalk that up to the proximity to Whole Foods and general location, but the staff is actually really nice and helpful. read more

I wish there was a "no star rating". My boyfriend and I have been here twice and both times it was very disappointing. The shrimp is completely tasteless as are the scallops. Tuna and salmon are okay on taste, but I just don't know how to feel about having raw fish out on display with multiple employees handling it. The last time we went both my boyfriend and I got horrible food poisoning. I know it was from Pokéworks because that's all we had ate that day. Just thinking about everything it makes total sense as to why we got so sick. Honestly the employees here look so miserable lol. Especially the employee who makes the dressings I guess. They always rush you and make you feel dumb when you are curious about something. Like when I asked about the different sauces and which ones were the best, the girl just said "you can read them all our sauces are listed up there". Lol. I wish the employees could be more excited about their job and realize that not everyone is familiar with hijiki seaweed or umami shoyu sauce. Another thing to mention was how the girl who was doing the sauces was chewing gum!!! With her mouth OPEN! All over the fresh vegetables and other toppings. I thoroughly enjoyed the fresh ingredients and combination of flavors in my dish. I ordered the Regular Poke bowl with kale noodles. I got the Ahi Tuna and Salmon with jalepeno, sweet onion, cucumber, orange slices, and mango with the ginger sauce. I will definitely be going back sometime soon! The Ahi Tuna was out and i would imagine that after being open for about a week, they would know their consumers high demands for that particular item and make sure they are more than stocked. But im sure they are trying to work out their products business to mert these high demands. But luckily, the amount of protein they give you does more than enough justice!! Very generous amounts of fish you get in your bowl, plus limitless options for the sides! Except for avacado, thats an extra $1 or so. You have been fore warned! (To my horror, even Krispy Kreme has been replaced with a soon-to-open Poke restaurant!) The problem is that the fish absolutely does not taste fresh. The nearest ocean is 700+ miles away...where do you think that fish is coming from? A poke bowl consists of large quantities of raw fish!! Isn't that aspect important to you? I have nothing against this particular establishment, except for the fact that the fish tasted like metal, as it should after its long journey across many, many miles of US territory to get to our city. The good thing about this place is that they offer cooked options, chicken, and tofu! I prefer those because you can get all the goodness of the sauces and flavors without any of the fishy flavor ruining it. For the same reason that El Paso isn't known for sushi, it shouldn't be known for Poke. It definitely ain't fresh. But people love it, so let them eat poke! read more
