I was in a hurry, so I thought going here would be fast like going to Chipotle. It was the first time trying this place. The place wasn't full. And there were 2 couples in front of me and it took about 20 minutes just to order. The food was okay. But it's kind of pricey for the amount you get. I didn't feel satisfied from the sushi burrito. I was still hungry. And it's crazy they don't include unlimited toppings like poke works. You pay for the bowl, plus the protein, plus extra toppings. The worst part was definitely the service. The employees were very nice, but they were definitely overwhelmed. It's just not practical to make fast food sushi unless you have a lot of extra employees just focusing on one thing. All the employees were doing everything. Checking people out, making orders, stocking. It was weird. It took FOREVER for them to complete orders. The whole counter was a mess and they were not stocked up on anything. I think they need to come up with a better solution to making the orders fast and efficient. I was not expecting to wait so long. I was excited to try it but idk if I'll go back unless I have a lot of time to wait and be ready to spend $$$ to be full after my meal. read more

Three days ago, my wife and I dined here and it was amazing. The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented--easily some of the best I've ever had. My wife had the Poke bowl and couldn't stop raving about it, calling it the best she's ever tried. The staff were welcoming and attentive, creating a relaxing atmosphere that made the whole experience even better. If you're craving incredible sushi and great service, this is a must-visit. So I just happened to be in the horizon area in the new market place of I10 and noticed that sushi freak had just opened. There's one on the far westside and now closer to me here on the far eastside! So I went in and ordered one of my favs well two of my favs.. The Waikiki roll and beach bum burrito. Im growing boy so I need a lil more food in me, but this was plenty. I mean I love sushi and love trying different things going to different places but now I'm my own back yard, sushi freak.. anyways got off target there, but toasted coconut shrimp and mango together is super delicious. The spicy tangy sauce complimented the sushi a lil more. This place is great and the people working there are awesome. Don't forget to tip. This little spot is great when it comes to getting a quick and healthy meal to take home. I honestly wasn't a fan of wanting to stay and eat inside the restaurant because the music was SUPER loud. I've come here twice already and yes I will say the sushi is delicious BUT it has one downfall which why I removed one star. There is sooooo many young adults working behind the food area joking and messing around and I noticed some just not really doing much just too many of them crowded behind the food bar, BUT I'm just glad it wasn't effecting the guy that was making my sushi burrito thankfully. It's just seems too crowded and overwhelming when you try to order your food. If you are new to create your own poke bowl or sushi burrito at this location be prepared to ask questions and make sure you aren't over charged for all the extra add ins that could add up to a $30-40 poke bowl. YES it's pretty pricey so again come prepared. I pretty much just order a fist bump burrito and so far they've been delicious!! The poke sauce is my favorite so be sure to try that one also. Far Eastside is growing fast and the restaurant industry is flourishing. Sushi freak is one of the newest joints to open recently and the review is... hey what a great name. The branding is great and all but I care about quality, freshness, and taste. I'm disheartened to say this sushi place is a bleak three stars. They seem to charge you for high quality ingredients but not everything is fresh or high caliber seafood. For far eastsiders I would recommend Sunny's that's right up the street. Sushi Freak has a New Mexican roll that undoubtedly has canned green chiles. Their SUNOMONO, in my opinion, is a joke. $5 for cucumber and crab Mix in a sample container? The fried calamari was soft and tender but the batter reminded me of frozen pre-battered food; heavy, thick, and too salty. I don't mind paying for a quality artisan product, but this joint simply doesn't deliver on these qualities. read more

If you like sit down prices for fast food sushi then this is your place! The sushi is exactly the taste and presentation you would expect from this joint. The sushi is not rolled correctly and falls apart. The fish was warm and the rice was too sticky. The sushi rolls were too thin to fill you up. I always expect to be satisfied when I walk in to a new place instead it disappoints. If you want good sushi go to Japan, it coats about the same! 4 rolls for $55???? read more

This new sushi place inside is rather small but new which means it's clean. there were some dirty tables when i picked up my order which was not a total surprise but there were plenty of people behind the line. Understandable. I ordered over the phone and picked up 20 min later. They didn't add any siracha mayo, or siracha but i asked and they gave me the little containers you see in the pics. The plastic containers were a bit big and i only mention this because if the cont. is not full then you sushi rolls are going to be "rolling" around. I recommend some sort of parchment paper to keep them in place and avoids your rolls from mixing together or coming apart. Upon arrival at my humble abode i commenced with my usual ritual of pre roll stuffing by combining the soy sauce with the proper amount of wasabi. I also throw in a dash of siracha ( cuz i like the tingling sensation on my tongue) to complete the process. The first bite was the rainbow with salmon on top. Fresh was the taste i did get, even though the thick slice of salmon did take a minute to chew. A tighter roll would have solidified a compact bite that didn't fall apart ( which is somewhat common amongst sushi rolls). Not much to say on the remaining 3 rolls. All in All, they were good. $$$ for avg charge per item. I'll be back for a go at the sushi burritos! read more

When Sushi Freak popped up as an option on DoorDash, I had to check & see if they had it. And they did!! I've waited 9 long months & finally my craving has been satisfied. It was so delicious!!! So my mom and my sister came to this Sushi place Sushi freak and I mean it was "DISGUSTING" I had the Teriyaki bowl and the chicken was just hot not fresh and just tasted bland and had no flavor all I tasted was seasoning the rice was ok there was a salad on the bowl all you get is like 5-10 slices of cucumber and no sauce not fresh and looked like I was about to puke my mom had Sushi and she said it tasted like Sushi that you could buy at your local corner store or Warmart or Albertsons so guys please save your money for something better. read more

Was excited to try but boy was I wrong. The sushi was okay but the rice was hard in some places of the roll. and don't try the chicken teriyaki plate.
