    Waikiki roll Waikiki burrito

So I just happened to be in the horizon area in the new market place of I10 and noticed that sushi freak had just opened. There's one on the far westside and now closer to me here on the far eastside! So I went in and ordered one of my favs well two of my favs.. The Waikiki roll and beach bum burrito. Im growing boy so I need a lil more food in me, but this was plenty. I mean I love sushi and love trying different things going to different places but now I'm my own back yard, sushi freak.. anyways got off target there, but toasted coconut shrimp and mango together is super delicious. The spicy tangy sauce complimented the sushi a lil more. This place is great and the people working there are awesome. Don't forget to tip. Next time I'm trying the fist bump...I heard it'll change your life!

Sooo good! Super fast! And they are very heavy on the sauces! Making this roll extra tasty! Love this place

They serve fresh food! Delicious! Friendly service ! Toasted Coconut Shrimp! Poke Bowl! Clean establishment

Custom sushi with avocado, chicken, cucumber, and green chili. The eel sauce is also pictured in the top right corner.

Love this place! Great spot to grab a quick lunch. The service was amazing and the food was out of this world. Very modern atmosphere with lots of natural light. I will 100% be back in the near future.

    Miso soup and fried calamari

This little spot is great when it comes to getting a quick and healthy meal to take home. I honestly wasn't a fan of wanting to stay and eat inside the restaurant because the music was SUPER loud. I've come here twice already and yes I will say the sushi is delicious BUT it has one downfall which why I removed one star. There is sooooo many young adults working behind the food area joking and messing around and I noticed some just not really doing much just too many of them crowded behind the food bar, BUT I'm just glad it wasn't effecting the guy that was making my sushi burrito thankfully. It's just seems too crowded and overwhelming when you try to order your food. If you are new to create your own poke bowl or sushi burrito at this location be prepared to ask questions and make sure you aren't over charged for all the extra add ins that could add up to a $30-40 poke bowl. YES it's pretty pricey so again come prepared. I pretty much just order a fist bump burrito and so far they've been delicious!! The poke sauce is my favorite so be sure to try that one also. Enjoy my pics!!!

New Mexican Roll and crazy roll

Far Eastside is growing fast and the restaurant industry is flourishing. Sushi freak is one of the newest joints to open recently and the review is... hey what a great name. The branding is great and all but I care about quality, freshness, and taste. I'm disheartened to say this sushi place is a bleak three stars. They seem to charge you for high quality ingredients but not everything is fresh or high caliber seafood. For far eastsiders I would recommend Sunny's that's right up the street. Sushi Freak has a New Mexican roll that undoubtedly has canned green chiles. Their SUNOMONO, in my opinion, is a joke. $5 for cucumber and crab Mix in a sample container? The fried calamari was soft and tender but the batter reminded me of frozen pre-battered food; heavy, thick, and too salty. I don't mind paying for a quality artisan product, but this joint simply doesn't deliver on these qualities.

SUSHI BURRITOS are 10/10! All the employees are so nice. The restroom was very clean, over all a clean environment. Thanks for my yummy Kookmeyer Burrito. I will most definitely make this place a regular stop.

this is what $42 gets you. ‍

I haven't had a poke bowl in El Paso ever so when I found this one after the gym I wanted to check it out. The menu clearly lists which proteins are cooked and which are raw. I ordered brown rice as the base and then their spicy og tuna and og tuna, topped with my usual toppings except added some mango and kale since they had it. The only downside was the protein scoops were the tiniest scoops in the whole wide world and the staff was very stingy with everything that went in the bowl even the veggies. The sauce selection was pretty good as there was a few to try. It's a really bright building within indoor and outdoor seating and very clean. However, They give you a punch card so after 10 trips you get. one free.

He explained to me it was a tribute to how it would taste in Hawaii. Interesting, I thought, since I moved to the area from Hawaii. He let me sample it and wow it was marinated in some great flavoring. I also saw they had a fridge of pressed juice. I'm a sucker for healthy juice. I picked the charcoal lemonade. There were about 8 different flavored juices in the fridge. This place is good. The bowl was tasty the whole way through.

POKE IS LIFE!!!! I…read moreremember the first time i ever had poke, and it was life altering. I always liked eating the occasional sashimi here and there, but it wasnt until a few years ago that i discovered the magnificence that is poke! Sadly because of that particular spot of eureka, i still consider to be superior above all else and set the rest of them below. This place is good tho. I love their bowl sizes that can vary so that i dont have to waste anything or overeat, which is usually the case lol. So i was able to get a small portion of 3 meats, which was tuna, spicy tuna, and shrimp. I absolutely ADORE tuna so i usually cant resist its chunky, hearty goodness. I also enjoy a good spring mix/kale base for my poke to be as healthy as possible. And im an absolute sucker for mango and edamame when it comes to pairing sashimi type cuts. So i threw that in, plus avocado, plus fried onions. Dont judge me! I know that is crap but i love onions! Lol Didnt have their poke 3 dressing of all things tho. So that was kind of a let down. I settled for their citrus ponzu which was good. Super fast and super friendly staff! Not to bad of a price for 3 protein choices so im extremely happy when they make sure not to skim their scoops of protein with that baby sized spoon of theirs they call a scooper lol

However, on the menu, it says two poke scoops for the number I got, but the scoops weren't regular. They were freaking tiny like baby scoops. One ice cream scoop was bigger than one poke scoop. I understand fresh fish is expensive, but damn, those scoops were little. I'm not over exaggerating at all. Unless the worker used the wrong scooper, I was disappointed, and I got an extra scoop, so the bowl wasn't just full of rice. You can check it out if you want, but don't expect the scoops to be regular scoops. If you're a poke lover, be prepared to pay additional for the tiny scoops or find another poke place in town and then compare it to this one. Maybe the tiny poke scoop is consistent around town. Let me know.
